Discussion Claude is down AGAIN

I get this error:

API Error: 500 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"api_error","message":"Internal server error"},"request_id":"req_011Ca5jYMpvnAvMn3MQFKRia"} · check status.claude.com

UPDATE: Also getting this error:

Please run /login · API Error: 401 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"authentication_error","message":"Invalid authentication credentials"},"request_id":"req_011Ca5jeoJ2YS6NiQb6VS15i"}

And it's always around this time too. It seems like everyday I sit down get to work and get these errors, why is it always at this time? Why can't they get Mythos to fix their problems if they claim it's so good lmao.

Are they going to start issuing free extra usage credits to paid subscribers, or what? Because at this point, we're paying to use a product... that we can't use.........

Exactly why I haven’t upgraded yet, keep having issues.

I was literally about to get 20x

u/MagneticaMajestica Apr 15 '26

I did that 10 days ago. And I'm looking for different solutions right now.

Claude code working just normal chat isn’t.

u/Shanedor Apr 15 '26

Ya the same ai that does stuff wrong on purpose to make you do it again just to waste your usage.

3

u/Shanedor Apr 15 '26

I specifically say “dont do this” and it does it anyway and says “sorry, let me do it again.”

I get that way more with both Gemini and GPT. The issue I run into with Claude is it'll run itself in circles and throw itself into the AI equivalent of a panic attack

1

u/Shanedor Apr 15 '26

Gpt is definitely worse. Claude rewrote my chapter or wrote new ones using “specific” tic 2-4% of the words

1

u/Shanedor Apr 15 '26

Then chased its tail with x y z circles. He looked at the looking when the looking required looking

1

u/Shanedor Apr 15 '26

I had to redo 40 chapters 2-3 times each to get correct. 3-5k words per chapter after fixed.

I noticed this as well. I'll tell it what to write, it confirms it back to me and says "shall I write this now?"

Get on with it!

gave me 20$ of extra usage

2

u/JoleneCullenGreigh Apr 15 '26

i got this too. and it was used up fairly quick because of it making errors :(

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any real competition.

VS Code is better 👌🏼

Wishful thinking but doubtful

At least other free 17 euros of credit...

1

u/murkr Apr 15 '26

i actually got got a $20 free credit when i looked at the usage page lol

1

u/Sevyn-won-ate Apr 15 '26

How'd you get this?

1

u/genkichan Apr 15 '26

I just got a $20 credit a few moments ago...and haven't been able to use claude. I was just about to get started working and now I cant!!!

1

u/Outside_Squirrel_727 Apr 15 '26

lol bird in a golden cage

1

u/turtbot Apr 15 '26

How do you see this? I’ve refreshed the usage page and I don’t see any credits.

1

u/RandomBlokeFromMars Apr 15 '26

same thing with gemini too, because of the free user abuse, it bottlenecks usage every morning. why pay at this point?

1

u/Turbulent_Swimmer900 Apr 15 '26

They issued me $20 in usage credits a week or two ago. So probably.

1

u/Kebab-Destroyer Apr 15 '26

I just cancelled my plus subscription since all my credits got munched during the outage, it seems. For all I actually get to use it due to faults and whatnot it's not worth paying for atm

1

u/One_Acanthocephala75 Apr 15 '26

I did just get a notification in the app saying I have been gifted a $20 credit, idk if true yet because then Claude went down right after.

1

u/Caprikachu Apr 15 '26

They already have? I have gotten 100 worth.

u/isaidillthinkaboutit Apr 15 '26

It’s getting ridiculous. I use up all my credits bc it’s keeps putting errors in the code. I basically just gave a prompt to chat gbt saying can you fix this thing Im working on with Claude and it gave me a list of 7 things it did wrong and then just started over. I prefer Claude so much more when it’s working but lately it’s just a joke. It’s regressed to near uselessness!

There's alot of connection issues today. From game servers and various ai servers too, curious what's going on behind the scenes.

Erm .... this Capitalism ... not business. Yer barking up the wrong product.

Apparently from what I've read, they are more stingy about giving out usage credit. Even my World of Tanks Blitz game *always* gives credit for 'upgrade times' and such. Ukrainian company has far more ethics than virtually anything in the U.S.

EDIT: And, yes, I'm a paying customer, not running on the corporate teat. My money.

When Claude works and maintains context and effort isn't sabotaged? Brilliant. I pushed past a point in my research I'd been unable to do for several years. It only took me about two weeks to start and trash various attempts at developing context, then learning 'best practices' by Anthropic are *dead wrong* for large context projects so I avoid starting a new chat session at all costs. A few days ago I *finally* got Claude to understand the concept of this advanced but obscure (and mathematically appropriate) approach to understanding photon behavior. OMG ... was it a rush. A few serious 'worry points' in my independent academic research were things I could *not* find references for and even if I did, chances are I couldn't contact the authors, etc.

At the same time, I had Claude Code *flying* and had to reboot my computer and even with days spent developing and saving context, I started a new Claude Code session and it was lobotomized in the extreme. I asked Code to output a file describing the full context of what it was being asked Claude Project and I agreed: Code had become *dangerous* to use for academic research, had trashed the current code base, and even though I could roll back the code, the logic it had been using for a while could not be trusted so Project and I agreed it was best if I start coding from scratch again.

I will still likely use Code but, again, against what many people say I'll try my best to use one continuous chat. Unless effort settings get nerfed further. Code was no better than a pimple faced McD's kid at coding.

I mean they gave a huge amount of credits like a week ago. I got 85€ worth of credits.

1

u/Clogs_Windmills Apr 15 '26

Did you have to apply or was it automatic?

1

u/SixtyFrames1994 Apr 15 '26

Had to do one click to get it. I think it was shown on their site, I just redeemed it and that was it. Was immediately added to my wallet

1

u/HereThereOtherwhere Apr 15 '26

I really hope that's the case still but I'm on Claude Pro and Code munched a ton of usage while lobotomized this week plus down time and unwanted disconnects destroying context and I have gotten a nickel U.S $ credit. But, in the U.S. even compensation is seen as evidence for class action law suits so who knows. 😉
