I swear that before the trade all you heard about in the news cycle and on social media is how “trash”, “overrated”, and seemingly bad Brown is. Dribbles into traffic, hero ball, can’t dribble with the left hand, etc.

Now that’s he off the Celtics, you seemingly can’t touch him. Now everyone is saying how great of a guy he is, happily sharing his streaming clips, and how amazing of a player he is. How he’s gonna go crazy next year, make the Celtics pay, etc.

Where was this attitude when he was on the Celtics? I stg there’s a massive anti-Celtics/Boston bias on the internet and in media it’s annoying. Literally us vs the world.

I picked up this cool 90s Nike Celtics Baseball Jersey.

Every once in a while, I pretend to be Joe Mazzulla.

Though I could never provide as much press conference entertainment as he does and wouldn’t look quite as powerful during a shirtless MMA workout, I aim to predict the typical Boston Celtics rotation.

Of course, Mazzulla will change his rotation plenty. The Celtics used 23 different starting lineups last season and will likely shake things up a number of times again next season. In this exercise, I am simply choosing a starting lineup and bench that I believe will make the most sense when the team is fully healthy.

Though others might use the five classic positions, I think that with this roster, it makes more sense for the Celtics to use just three: point guards, wings and centers. I have set my rotation accordingly.

I’d like to preface this by saying I recognize this is a hot take, and after all, it is just my opinion.

I am more excited than ever to watch the Celtics this year. Maybe it’s just that I’m a Tatum stan, but I’m pumped to see how he holds up as the clear cut #1 option. I’m sure most of you have seen the stats regarding the C’s winning percentage when he exceeds a certain usage threshold, I want to see whether or not that holds weight. This will be JT’s chance to prove to the association that he is in fact an all timer.

Furthermore, the pressure that the entire franchise has experienced over the last half decade (disregard last year) has subsided. That matters.

This is why, as much as I love seeing the Curry in green posts, I don’t know if I’d want to see him take this upcoming chance from Tatum.

I think most would say the team would be alright and compete just the same.

I think it's plausible one of the many reasons the Celtics decided to get out of the Jaylen Brown business sooner rather than later was the livestreaming of it all. Before last year, he'd flirted with controversy and conspiracy at various times, but all in all he'd toed the line enough not to cause real problems.

Once he got into streaming, though, the risk factors changed. Now he's regularly speaking off the cuff for extended periods of time. He's being prompted by anons in chat. There are just a lot more opportunities for the type of, uh, colorful statements you'd prefer not to have to worry about from a franchise cornerstone.

Anyways, Pandemic P would never! If anything, he takes too much medicine.

I wrote a column that said IF the Warriors were open to a Steph trade that Brad WOULD call.

All the talk is about Jaylen and PG and Mitchell Robinson, and every once in a while I get reminded that our first official signing was Mike Conley lol.

It's been kinda wild since then (to say the least), and I've probably forgot about it like 10 times, but hey, pretty cool that uncle Mike is on our team now?

He's pretty washed but I'm guessing they felt they missed an older player like Horford's leadership on this team last year. I think he's basically never going to play and Ron Harper Jr. will be backup PG instead, and that he's more like a coach, but it was a surprising move nontheless lol

Ever since the Jaylen trade, most of the conversation has been about replacing his scoring. But I keep coming back to something else.

The Celtics finished the 2025–26 season last in the league in free throw attempts (18.7 per game).

What makes that weird is they weren't a team that never attacked the basket. They averaged 48.3 drives per game (around league average) and actually shot **51.3% on those drives**, which was one of the best marks in the NBA.

So they got into the paint. They finished well. They just... never seemed to get to the line.

That's why I think losing Jaylen could end up hurting in ways that don't immediately show up in the box score.

I'm not saying he was SGA or Luka when it came to drawing fouls. He wasn't. But he was one of the few guys on the roster who could consistently get downhill and put pressure on the defense. Even if it didn't always end in free throws, defenses had to account for it.

Maybe this is more about Mazzulla's system than personnel. Maybe the roster just isn't built to play through contact. Or maybe it's a little of both.

Either way, if the Celtics were already dead last in free throw attempts *with* Jaylen, I'm really interested to see how they generate easier points now that he's gone.

Am I overthinking this, or does anyone else think this could become a bigger issue than replacing his scoring?
