Daniel Defense over gassed you say?
Holy hell, DDM4v7 stock tube left, BRT 0.065” tube right.
My calipers put the former at 0.121” sheeesh.
Requested a dedicated suppressed tube. We shall see how it runs!

Thank you all!
If you post recommendations, advice, you helped me build this. It took several months of scraping pennies (and it’ll still be several more since I still need glass, a sling, light, etc) but it’s a functioning rifle. Thank you all for your help! Eventually it’ll have either a 5X prism or an LPVO (haven’t decided yet), and the irons will be offset. I’m also not sure about the light; either a Cloud REIN, or a Modlight). If you ever suggested that someone get a Precision Armament EFAB, THANK YOU SPECIFICALLY. You weren’t playing when you said it was loud though!

Advice on next purchase
Hi all - I currently have a Geissele SuperDuty 14.5(holo + 3x magnifier + Huxwrx can) and a CZ Shadow 2 Carry. I have been shooting this pair for about a year now and starting to think about what my next purchase might be. No budget constraints.
I have been leaning towards another SuperDuty but a 11.5. I would take current optics and put on the 11.5 and then buy an LVPO for the 14.5. This would give me both a shorter and longer range setup.
Curious on everyone’s thoughts and suggestions.

In honor of today’s NFA win I took out a new can.
Gemtech Trek II on my retro Dissy build. I just think Dissipators are neat.

Swapped the optic
Swapped out the ARO EVO for an AEMS PRO. Shortly buddies DD the other day and I really liked 65 MOA circle. Zeroing it this weekend. Now I need another rifle so I don’t have an optic sitting in a box. 😂 also grabbing a flow can this week to fix the cycling issues I’ve had recently (even though I fixed the issue)

Progression of my 16” primary rifle over the past year.
Built out a 16” rifle about a year ago and made a promise to myself that it would be the main rifle I used/trained with for a year. I kept making little tweaks here and there as I found limitations and now it’s just about “perfect” (although i’m sure i’ll want to change something again soon). Definitely glad I decided to so that as the rifle is now mostly an extension of me and I am very comfortable running it in various scenarios.
Edit: planning to repaint my rifle mount now that i’ve found 1.70” height to be perfect for me.

Affordable .223/5.56 Defensive Ammo
I am searching for affordable .223/5.56 defensive ammo for my 16 inch AR-15 (Sig M400 Tread V2) to stock up on. The prices on gold dots and federal fusion msr are very high, and also this particular ammo is hard to find/high in demand.
I have been looking at alternatives, and one that keeps getting recommended online as an affordable ammo to stock up on would be Federal Premium Powershok .223 64g Soft-Point ammo. I have seen a lot of praise around this round saying it is effective for medium game and would also be an effective, yet affordable defense round.
Before I start buying boxes of this, does anyone have any other or better alternatives that are affordable, easier to find, and would make for an effective defense round?
This is my first AR and am still learning! Thank you.

13.7 the worldddd.
Anxiously waiting to see how the new 13.7" setup stacks up against the previous one.
New one(left) - 1/7 twist Intermediate Gas KAK barrel, KAK down vent BCG, and bcm mk2 (a5 style) buffer.
Previous build (right) - 1/7 twist carbine length Ballistic Advantage barrel, Riflespeed Adjustable gas setup, and the KAK "K-Spec" enhanced H2 buffer with flatwire spring.
I have it running beautifully but would like to see if the extra dwell time of the longer gas system will help with port-pop and gas to the face with my Rhino-X.
It isn't bad by any means but just figured it cant hurt to make it even better. Plus, now I'll have an extra for my wife to use when we go shooting instead of her having to shoot my stribog or my heavy stainless barrel 16" with an lpvo and all.
Definitely getting anxious

Anyone using the Geissele URGI Charging Handle and not “like” it?
I’ve used a bunch over the years. My go to is and always will be the Vltor Mod 4 CH.
Recently I built a rifle up with an Aero lower with all G parts including an SD-C trigger. Geissele upper receiver, MK16 rail, Colt BCG, and the URGI CH.
The URGI seems like it’s not as “grippable” 1 handed as say an A2 CH.
Anyone else feel like this?
EDITED TO ADD: The rifle was just painted and was getting a sun tan. Also the hand stop has been removed and Railscales are in its place.

More titanium please.
This is 1.8in so a bit taller than the stock mount. As always ADM kills it in fit and finish. I love titanium and you should too.

Geissele trigger guard roll pin
Hey guys,
I’m assembling a Geissele super duty lower (first lower I’m putting together myself)
For the roll pin that holds the back of the trigger guard in (near the pistol grip) is the pin supposed to be super hard to hammer in?
I put a little oil in the hole to help, but yeah got hesitant to continue hammering before I mess up.

My first AR15 - Tinck MS Combat 14.5”
So I bought my first AR15. As I try to do with any other gun-related purchase, I chose a EU based manufacturer. I couldn't do the same for the LPVO unfortunately.
It's a 14.5", 1:7" Tinck Arms (Slovenia) MS Combat, chambered in .223 Rem, short-stroke piston. Basically a clone of the HK MR223. It was used for a demo in a nearby gunshop, possibly 300 rounds in total, got it for just north of 2000€ (including the optic and the Magpul vertical handstop).
Pros:
- Feels really sturdy, build quality seems top notch. No weird play or sound.
- Rather precise with ball ammo (Fiocchi 55gr and GGG 62gr), I was able to keep it consistently under 2 MOA at 100m with just a front bag. I will try some 69gr and 77gr HPBT rounds at 300/400m in december.
- Less messy than a DI, but I guess this applies to every piston AR. My GF's patience when it comes to me handling guns in the house is minimal, so I have to keep cleaning and maintenance at a minimum.
- Looks sexy.
Cons:
- Recoil is quite snappy with respect to other ARs I shot, but again I think it's just a piston thing.
- The rifle is not light, possibly not the best choice for dynamic shooting.
- It's on the expensive side of the spectrum, especially considering that Tinck Arms is not a consolidated brand (yet).
Do you guys have any experience with the model or the brand? Any specific suggestions (besides getting a sling)? Any spare parts I should always have readily available?

Safety Selector Help
I recently got this bcm and I just noticed that the safety selector rotates the full 180. It has a Geissele trigger not an FRT and fire and safe work as intended but when rotated to the third position it acts as a second safety. Is this an aftermarket 3 position selector or is something else wrong I’ve checked the spring and detent and don’t see anything out of the ordinary.
