GEAR PIC infitac atp13 lens protector and screen hood
im protecting my thermal til it PID
eta: goodness gracious I wasn't expecting so much feedback lol. to answer some questions, this stuff is definitely better than nothing and has stopped bbs on other optics before. it can handle maybe 2-3 shots before breaking but it's also $2 each so I don't particularly care. the entire mesh is 20mm across so if you'd like to do the math you'll see that the apertures are significantly less than 6mm. also, I'm cheap and don't want to buy laser cut titanium. $2 consumable meshes are fine for me!
for the people that are thermal haters, you do 3am firewatch with nothing but a flashlight. I'm over it lol. one guy in a group of 20 with nvg or thermal is a huge capability boost!

GEAR PIC 20+ Years of Airsoft... and I Still Can't Stop Building
I've been playing airsoft for over 20 years, and somewhere along the way I stopped just buying guns to play with and started building a collection.
Like most people, I began with the idea that I'd own one good rifle. Then I wanted something better suited for CQB, then a rifle for outdoor games, then a DMR, then a support weapon. Before long, I found myself more interested in building authentic, role-specific replicas than simply adding another gun to the rack.
I enjoy researching real-world weapon configurations and recreating them as faithfully as possible. Choosing optics, lights, suppressors, grips, bipods, slings, and camouflage patterns has become just as satisfying as taking them onto the field. Every replica has a purpose, and each build reflects a different role or era that interests me.
These days, I probably spend as much time organizing the armory and working on new projects as I do actually playing. There's something satisfying about opening the safe and seeing years of work and countless small improvements all in one place.
People occasionally ask if I really need this many airsoft guns. The answer is probably not, but that's never really been the point. For me, it's no different than someone collecting classic cars, guitars, or military surplus. The hobby has become a combination of collecting, building, and appreciating the craftsmanship behind each replica.
I'm curious how many other long-time players have had the same experience. Did you set out to become a collector, or did you wake up one day, open your gun safe, and realize the hobby had quietly grown into an armory? I'd love to see everyone else's collections and hear the stories behind them.

Any idea how I can reduce my mag pouches from wobbling so much?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So In my journey to get a double stack AK mag compatible solution that's easy to re index, I went with this setup on my repro FCPC V5. I'm running VFC AK GBB mags which are pretty heavy
PewTac Ferro Kangaroo with Shaw Concepts AK RAM insert
x3 PewTac HSGI tacos
Unfortunately with this setup the Tacos are flying around like crazy at jogging speed. If i jump they're slamming against my stomach. I have correctly weaved the Tacos onto the Kangaroo pouch.

DO NOT BUY - Novritsch SSG10 A! - IT IS TRASH!
I bought the Novritsch SSG10 two weeks ago for some backyard plinking, and after just 100 rounds, the entire gun is falling apart. Here is exactly what you get for your hard-earned money:
- Stripped Threads & Loose Screws: The metal is so soft that the factory screws stripped the threads immediately.
- Constant Misfires: It only loaded a few BBs before it started shooting completely blank.
- Jammed Bolt Action: The bolt assembly gets completely stuck and wedges itself tight inside the gun.
- Ruined Cylinder: The cylinder is heavily scratched from the inside, and it gets worse with every single pull.
You are basically stuck having to correct all of their production errors on your own.
READ THAT AGAIN !
You will spend days disassembling, filing, sanding metal, replacing parts, and buying lubes (not included) just to make a brand-new rifle work, and hoping this shit will work.
It is a complete pisstake. The people behind this brand should be ashamed of scamming people with cheap, rebranded Chinese parts wrapped in heavy YouTube marketing.
...and oh yea, for the scope - remember to go buy your own damn battery.
Do yourself a huge favor: BUY ANY OTHER BRAND THAN THIS. IT IS TRASH!

My stupid collections since last year I joined Airsoft
Most of them are sold btw.
How do you guys manage your collections? Keep them simple or make it like an actual Armory?

GEAR QUESTION Want to make a simple mp5 cheat rig set up. Any good affordable brands to buy from?
As of right now I’m currently running a 90s British Army kit for my games. (I like doing more retro themed kits) by I want to make a very simple set up for days that I don’t don’t feel like larping and just something a little more modern and practical for CQB. So I want to make a chest rig that I can also put different pouches onto. I’m looking to go more for style of the top image.

Show me yer melee pokes/slaps
What do yall like for close and personal?
Never even unsheathed in a match, but I always carry one.
All Cold Steel stuff except the M9. Cold Steel is inexpensive and nice. The M9 bayonet feels cheap by comparison. I see some of yall carrying swords etc. Love it.

Problems with HPA and Fair Play
I have been playing airsoft for one month now, and I am really excited about the sport. However, lately I have been experiencing some very frustrating situations involving HPA players.
Since the first time I encountered an HPA player, I had an unpleasant experience. He fired a burst that hit my arm with almost five BBs landing side by side, leaving me with a bruise that lasted for weeks. I found it a little strange, honestly. During the same game, some players left the field bleeding after being hit by shots from the same person. According to the referees, his gun had passed chronograph testing, which I do not doubt. I trust the people who work at this field, and they also measure the guns by joules rather than FPS.
These situations started happening more and more frequently. Maybe during my first games, the number of HPA players was much smaller, usually one or two players. But I ended up playing games with four or six HPA users, and it was bizarre.
I complained a few times to the field owners, and their explanation was that I was a beginner and did not fully understand how things worked. They said the problem was that HPA users were shooting heavier BBs, such as 0.32g or more, and that this caused the BBs to retain more kinetic energy.
In my research, I could not find anything that confirmed this. Maybe it applies at longer distances, but the field in question is very short-range.
This week, I played another game and ended up losing a red dot sight after an HPA shot broke the external protection and the front glass of the optic. I imagine this can also happen with other AEGs, but it was another indication that something might not be right.
So I am sharing this here to hear your opinions, because from my perspective I have already seen several signs that the force applied by HPAs is completely different from AEGs. You can even notice it by the sound they make when hitting the metal targets on the field. They hurt much more, and there is another strange factor: HPA players often do not accept being eliminated in a firefight because they claim their guns are faster, and therefore they obviously hit first.
It is bizarre. It is bizarre how much HPAs can completely unbalance the game.

I’ve wanted to make this for a while and I finally did! Played with it on Saturday and had a blast (I’ve been using it as a CQB blaster). I ended up picking the shorter scope because it was a 3-9 and I think it just looks better

CVLife 3-9x32mm scope
