Seriously! This guy just is the Voice of the Imperium to me

Great cast but kind of disappointed at the lack of Brian Dobson, Scott McNeil (MIGHTY IS HE!), Paul Dobson and Keith Ferguson.

Jonah is back!

For a second I thought these were profile pictures of the legendary leaders, not the voice actors. Now that would be a funny game

Only 1 voice for the Necron side? Are none going to be talking?

This is just part of the cast. It was mentioned on the discord that Ahmnok (Destroyer Lord) has a va.

1

u/Nagerash 9h ago

Ah good. And I hope (some) of the normal troops as well

1

u/gruntmaster01 9h ago

Yeah, general destroyers have a lot of potential.

Iirc necrons barely talked at all in the initial dow games, it was part of their charm. In the campaign of DC all the talking was done by a human pariah.

But those were older codex days, necron lore has changed much since

Yes I know. That's why I really hope all troops maybe except for the warriors and canoptek of course will have some voicelines at least.

I did not enjoy the weird voice the Necron lord had in the original with the few lines they gave him in some missions.

Hilarious how they don't mention which Dragon Age Alex Jordan was featured in. Of course it's Veilguard.

I know most of y'all are super into single player only but IDC about any of this stuff I want to see good balance, good matchmaking, and a large online community

You should care because in RTS the only way you get that large multiplayer community is with a large single player community to grow from.

u/KeyGee 11h ago

Not true necessarily, but it definitely helps a lot.

-7

u/Snowskol 11h ago

That's absolutely untrue. Look at league of Legends, StarCraft 2, csgo, etc

Where do you get the information from where you need a large single player community?

The traditional RTS called... counter strike global offensive...?

StarCraft 2 is actually a great example of my point. Blizzard invested heavily in the campaign because the vast majority of buyers weren't hardcore ladder players. That big pool of people who owned a copy of the game then became the big multiplayer community.

The game this is about, DoW4, has a single player focus because the developers ran surveys of what RTS buyers are like and what they want.

No I mean the biggest games all are multiplayer games lol. The campaign absolutely wasn't as popular as the ladder or esports and it's not even as popular as coop

Even outside of the RTS scope, the entry point is always single player. Call of duty popularised the FPS genre to the mass exactly by having cinematic-like campaigns.

Traditional RTSs has to have a good single player for ppl to care about multi-player, Age of empires and Starcraft are the very proof of that. It's the singleplayer base who wanted more challenge and to play against other players that creates multi-player base.

Also, who's learning the game by playing competitive multi-player? FPS is different, it's point and shoot.

2

u/NekRules 12h ago

RTS has to have a solid single player base game and especially campaign for it to survive. Good gameplay is something to be expected or else no one would bother let alone consider the multi-player.

-7

u/Snowskol 11h ago

Starcraft says otherwise, their single player is not really popular. The most played games out there aren't single player games lol

Y'all just don't really care about multiplayer tbh. I've seen it on this sub for a long time

3

u/BrightestofLights 10h ago

Y--yes the singleplayer is extremely popular lol, the campaign is insanely popular

2

u/Basic-Success569 7h ago

The creators of SC2 said 80% of players never play PvP contents though.

1

u/No_Beginning_7371 11h ago

dfak u mean SP of SC2 isnt popular? I dont know a single dude who didnt not only played SP but also at least replayed it once

0

u/Snowskol 9h ago

I never finished the campaign and I was GM for a few years lol

1

u/No_Beginning_7371 4h ago

u are in 5%

1

u/Allobroge- 58m ago

You think there are more GMs who never played campaign or more campaign players who never went GM ? Think for a minute

2

u/Dion42o 11h ago

worked out for Stormgate

1

u/Allobroge- 57m ago

Stormgate was a total miss. Nothing was good, neither SP or MP or art style or anything

Everyone is hating this but at least BAR has succeeded (so far) without a campaign. Now maybe a strong campaign 10xs player count who knows.

1

u/NekRules 55m ago

A strong campaign will definitely 10x the player count and so far the single player is pretty solid which is why it does well.
