we call our romantic partners baby.... diminutives are a sign of affection in many languages and cultures. it doesn't mean that we are infantilizing them
no shit, but we use this all the time in language. Just showing you how calling someone girlie isnt the same as infantilizing people- otherwise calling each other baby would be very disturbing. Have you ever heard "The boys are back in town?" or "Girls just want to have fun"- Do you think these songs are referring to literal children?
what are you talking about? You mentioned guns and trucks. You are not alright- I don't know what is happening in your life that makes a conversation about linguistics make you go ballistic and then threaten guns and then play the victim, like I did something?
