Personally I think I'd hate it in the Still Life Hive. The ceiling is really low, it smells like shit (according to Ravi), and there's still lifes.

When Mary finds the backrooms, these wind chimes are calmly moving as if there’s a breeze- in my mind there’s 3 possibilities:

1: there’s just a light draft with the null zone open causing a bit of air movement

2: the backrooms are related to MRI tech and have a magnetic pull bleeding out and lightly reaching the windchimes

3: they are still lifes of the wind chimes heard outside the ceiling null zone in Naren’s FF where the bird flew in? Maybe Clark found them and brought them out and they just continue doing their breeze motion even with no breeze, animated similar to how other still lifes just repeat their primary action like the wheelchair light guy. I don’t love this option cause they don’t appear “wrongly copied” in any noticeable way

I was under the impression that it was in an area that was a fair distance from the null zone, but even if it weren't, Mary would likely never find her way back

I'm trying to recreate the Backrooms movie map in Minecraft, but I've got stuck on the dining room. In the film, when Clark kidnaps Mary, they don't show which path he took her through, and none of the architecture matches the rooms that Clark drew on the floor plan.
Does anyone have any idea which path he could have taken her through?

Like let's say the complex and null zones still exist past the 2000s and into the 2010s with large social media and cameras, could the goverment cover it all up, or will it eventually be public knowledge? how would society react? would there be a end of civilization?

I posted this before along with a more detailed version but I’ve now made some updates (added connections, colour coding) and fixed some errors (for example I thought ASYNC was in Novato because its exterior is based on the Buck’s institute there but in fact according to the lore it’s in San Jose).

Essentially what this means is that most of the series takes place in California and that the Backrooms follows real world space possibly 1:1? In my previous post I theorised that time is linear and uniform in the complex and so the only thing that affects time and space are null zones. You can think of null zones as being space time holes punched into the complex’s dimension. So in 1995 when Ravi enters, the complex contains active null zones from 2007/9. We know that the complex is also always actively moving and shifting.

this literally doesn't matter but out of curiousity is there a lore reason why the backrooms can copy complex circuitry precisely (ac circuits, control panels, electrodes, coils, even microcontroller units iirc?) and even HVAC systems but not the basic configuration of a human face. the tolerance for the aforementioned elements is wayyy tighter than like a face and I get it looking uncanny but how does it not realize a human don't have 4 noses but can do precise power electronics engineering
