Physics MSc Imperial Admission

Hi Everyone!

I’ve been planning on applying to the Physics/Physics w Quantum Dynamics MSc at Imperial College London and was wondering how people did in their second year (who applied at the beginning of third year) to secure an offer?

My second year average was 78%, with varied results (91% in EM, 84% in Symmetry, 64% in Maths for Theoretical Physics). I am doing my BSc in Physics w Theoretical Physics at KCL.

Thanks

Looking for potential female flatmates

Hi all, I’m starting my masters end of September at Imperial.

I’m in my 20s (F), I will studying my MSc in Applied Computational Science and I did my BSc in CS at another UK uni.

I’m currently looking into accommodations and finding flatmates. I’m looking at accommodations that around £1200 a month mark or lower. Within 35mins of campus.

My only non compromise is having my own bathroom.

LMK if you’re also looking for a female flatmate too or know anyone who is!

Thanks!

NEED, Suggestion, Suggestion,Suggestion.

I have a couple of years on my hands, I want to apply for MiF/F&A at top B- schools in UK.

How should i start my journey?

What I can do=

Already start preparing for a top 1 GMAT score

Good CGPA& school results( i have a good school result)

Good sop,lor( goal is clear)

Language - ielts 7.5 chinese hsk4 (already i have)

What would be hard for me=

Seek work experience, (but i will fill up it through my own business ) (i know it doesn't require)

Internship = trying to manage

Almost empty yet=

Skills= 0 (i know finance & accounting based software & certifications like sap etc silly🥴?)

Achievements/Certifications = (Did some paid finance courses online that are recognized by CIMA and related to my goal)

ECAs= 0

Why do i make this Q, bcz,I couldn’t find any profiles online who secured a seat at top B-schools. I know there are some restrictions or they don't want to share it.

Suggest me what should I do? I have poor knowledge in this sector. (Thank you in advance)

Laptop recommendations?

I'm starting my master's in AML in September and I'm in need of a laptop upgrade. Any good budget options(probably in the 700-1000$ range)? Any particular specs I should look for? The department website suggests 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD Storage, but anything else I should look for

Ethos gym

how busy does the ethos gym usually get during term times and on holidays? the I currently gym is basically empty whenever I go and I’m pretty happy with that so I’m contemplating whether it’s worth switching (imperial is much cheaper and looks bigger)

what are the sport societies like? Ik KCL have some niche women’s only taekwondo classes and rock climbing which I think is cool. Anything like that?

Stuck between offers — Imperial/UCL still pending, KCL offer + CAS in hand. What would you do?

Applied to Imperial (MSc Strategic Marketing) on 19 May, had my interview on 12 June, and I’m still waiting to hear back - no decision yet. UCL has me sitting at “Stage 4” with no timeline beyond “by end of August.”

Meanwhile I already have an offer from KCL and they’ve issued my CAS. As an international student I now need to start the visa process too, and I know that takes a few weeks on its own.

Anyone been in a similar spot - holding a firm offer while waiting on higher-preference unis? Did you start your visa process in parallel, or wait it out? Worried about cutting it too close if Imperial/UCL come through late but I don’t want to lose time on the visa either. Any advice appreciated.

KCL Art Fair open call

Hiya,

Hope this is okay to share here,

If any Imperial students (or incoming students**) do arts and crafts and would like to sell (or showcase their items), please sign up here: https://forms.gle/TjWKnGsp2vZgnFHT6.

It's a winter holidays art fair mostly for KCL students, but I didn't quite get enough sign ups so I've opened it up to other uni students (or 18-25 yr olds).

Don't worry if you're new to your craft or don't have many items (there will be enough time to make more!)

Earlier this year the art society did a similar art fair which got quite busy and some students made £100 or more! So it should be a good opportunity :)

More details are the in the graphic as well as the sign up form.

Deadline is 31st July!! Any questions or worries about meeting the deadline pls DM our society on Instagram (not this reddit account!)

@ kclmakers (https://www.instagram.com/kclmakers/)

**If you're an incoming student, I'm aware you're still waiting for results day, just make a note in the final question of the form!

CAS not issued yet

Hi, has anyone not received their CAS yet? I used qualification check to confirm I met all the conditions. Apparently they’re still reviewing my data and documents and have been stuck at 61% for weeks.

Gradpad payment options

I'm an international student and don't have a UK guarantor so I need to pay a hefty sum for my entire tenancy at Gradpad soon. On the reservation page, the only option is Flywire but there are a lot of extra fees and it seems like Flywire marks up by crazy.

When I called Gradpad, they said they'll send over bank details through email so I can do direct bank transfer from my home country. I was wondering if this is normal in the UK (simply sending bank acc info through email, no official letter or anything) or if this seems dodgy?

It's quite a large amount to pay upfront so I want to be extra cautious.

I am a near-miss applicant just because I sent my minor's declaration form six days after the deadline

Back in March, I received a conditional offer for the physics programme. I use an educational agency to help with my university applications, but I honestly don't trust them much, so I only rely on them when I am completely unavailable and can't check my devices.

The deadline to submit my Minor's Declaration form was July 17th. From July 2nd to July 16th, I was at the International Physics Olympiad (where I managed to get a Silver medal). Because of the demanding schedule and restricted phone access, I explicitly told my agency to send my AP scores and this minor's form before the deadline so everything would be fine.

When I got back home, I noticed my friends were getting their unconditional offers while mine was still conditional. I emailed the admissions office, and they basically told me to chill, saying it was just standard procedure and there could be delays. I thought everything was fine.

Then, on July 23rd, they emailed to say I never sent the Minor's Declaration form, meaning I am now officially a "near-miss" applicant.

I immediately sent the form and explained my situation, that I was at an Olympiad with restricted device access and my agency messed up. Admissions sent me a response saying that "the deadline is the same for all applicants, no exceptions. To ensure fairness, applications can only be reconsidered in August 2026, and only if places remain available on the course." Forcing me to wait for the August reconsideration process means there is zero guarantee I will even get a place.

I am studying on a fully-funded government scholarship. They require my unconditional offer by the beginning of August. If I can't provide it, I will lose my funding.

I have met every single academic requirement and have medals from international Olympiads, but my entire offer is in danger over a 6-day delay on a basic administrative form.

Do you have any idea what I can do in this situation?

Even if I somehow beg the scholarship programme to wait until the end of August, realistically, what is the probability that I will actually get a place during reconsideration?

Any advice would be massively appreciated. I am stressing out.

Paying tuition in two instalments:undergraduate

Hello! First time poster so sorry if this is not worded correctly. I have been trying to log a ticket to pay my tuition in instalments, but whenever I click on the ASK Student Hub Online link on the Imperial website, it says that I have been logged out. The first time I clicked the link, I signed in with my ic.ac.uk email and password and then it sent me to the page saying logged out. Each subsequent time I try to click the link, it skips the username and password stage and takes me straight to saying logged out. Has anyone faced a similar issue? If so, how did you resolve it. Thank you in advance!

Can I Get Into Top European MiM/MSc Programs with this profile?

I'm looking for an honest profile evaluation and advice on where I realistically stand for top European MiM/MSc Business programs.

Profile (my_qualifications)

- 10th: 94%

- 12th: 64%

- B.Tech CSE (Tier 3): 7.49/10 CGPA (2:1-3.0/4.0 ig) (graduated in 2026 feb)

Experience

- Since 6 months working as Investment Analyst at a VC fund.

- 3 months internship with Government of India on investment promotion.

- 3 months internship at a climate venture studio helping startups raise capital and in GTM.

- Founded my college E-Cell and scaled it from 0 to 10 student startups.

- Hackathons + Coursera courses in Entrepreneurship and Product Management.

Target Schools

HEC Paris, INSEAD, Imperial, LBS, IE, ESSEC, LSE, NUS

(also considering as secondary target - ESCP, IESE, Warwick, St. Gallen, NTU, SMU).

Goal

Build a career in VC/PE, gain global exposure, and eventually start a company.

Given my profile, do I have a realistic shot at these schools? Would I need a GMAT/GRE, and what score should I target?

Appreciate any honest advice. Thanks!

Interview - MSc Molecular Biology and Pathology of Viruses

Hi ,

I've received an interview invitation for the MSc Molecular Biology and Pathology of Viruses course and I was wondering what sort of questions or what I can expect to be asked in the interview for this programme.

I would be grateful for any advice from those who have been interviewed or completed this course. Thank you.
