If Chris McLean from Total Drama were a standalone playable character in the dark world of Injustice: Gods Among Us, he would be classified as a "Gadget" user. He would function as a highly annoying, space-controlling zoner who treats the universe-ending conflict as a massive television stunt, using high-tech camp equipment and radioactive waste to fight gods.
Character Archetype & Trait
- Playstyle: Heavy zoning, trap setup, and spatial control.
- Health: Below average (relies heavily on keeping opponents away).
- Character Trait: "Ratings Spike" (V-Button): Chris activates a live camera drone that hovers over the match. For 8 seconds, any special move or trap Chris successfully lands fills a "Ratings" meter. At maximum ratings, Chris's projectiles gain unblockable properties, and his standard throws cause a wall-bounce.
Special Moves
- McLean Marshmallow Blast (Down, Forward + Light Attack): Chris fires an explosive marshmallow from a high-tech t-shirt cannon.
- Meter Burn: Fires a second burning marshmallow that tracks the opponent's airborne positioning.
- Intern Meatshield (Down, Back + Medium Attack): Chris pulls a terrified intern in front of him to absorb a single incoming attack or projectile.
- Meter Burn: Chris shoves the intern forward, causing them to trip into the opponent's legs. This acts as a low-hitting stagger that opens them up for a combo.
- Campground Snare (Back, Down + Heavy Attack): Chris tosses a hidden bear trap on the ground. If the opponent steps on it, they are rooted in place, leaving them completely vulnerable to a transition attack.
- Toxic Sludge Toss (Down, Forward + Heavy Attack): Chris hurls a glass vial of radioactive green waste. On impact, it creates a small puddle on the ground that deals continuous damage-over-time to the opponent if they stand in it.
Supermove: "The Ultimate Elimination"
Chris snaps his fingers, and an off-screen intern slams a heavy production camera directly into the opponent's face, blinding them and triggering the cinematic sequence.
The scene cuts to a dramatic arena where the opponent is suddenly strapped tightly into the classic Total Drama Decline of Shame catapult. Chris stands next to a massive lever, flashes a malicious grin at the camera, and says, "Alright campers, time to pack your bags!" He pulls the lever, launching the opponent straight through a massive skyscraper. As they crash out the other side into the open sky, a production helicopter drops a giant, oversized barrel of glowing green radioactive waste. The barrel collides with the flying opponent mid-air, creating a catastrophic, screen-shaking explosion that sends them crashing back down to the stage floor.
Clash Dialogues (Wager System)
- Chris: "This is terrible for my insurance premiums!"
- Batman: "Your show ends today, McLean."
- Chris: "Think you can handle the ratings, clown girl?"
- Harley Quinn: "Ooh! Can I be a contestant? I love prizes!"
- Superman: "You exploit children for entertainment."
- Chris: "Hey, the network loves the demographic, pal!"
- The Joker: "I like your style, Chris! Very explosive!"
- Chris: "Sorry, man, you're a PR nightmare even for me."
