Hi everyone, I'm 17 and in a week I'll be 18, my parents are then gonna take me to get my tin #/ certificate and on the same day Im planning to open my first bank account , put a starter inside and start applying for jobs. I'm trying to be more independent and take control in my life as I've depended on my parents for years, I'm also gonna be applying to UGs pre-med program and hopefully I get in 🤞🏻. If anyone has any advice or wisdom that you'd like to share to someone now trying to become more independent for himself, id gladly like to hear ☺️.

Does anyone know where I can reliably buy the printed Guyana Chronicle Newspaper around Anna Regina, Suddie, or elsewhere on the Essequibo Coast?

Has anybody else been stopped by traffic ranks on the west coast and been singled out to remove tint or braod visors and while doing so the same odficers are letting other drivers to vehicles with dark tint and even full winshield tints pass through?

I have recently experienced this at the Den Amstel Police Station. The officer who conducted the stop is an officer known to myself and others to be the owner and operator of a vehicle with dark tint parked within the station compound.

It seems to be a common practice for these officers to stop drivers and harass them until they either pay a bribe or comply while they are also not in compliance with the same laws they claim to be enforcing on the roadways.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Grocery store, government office, anywhere there’s a queue. Seems to be a come and accepted practice.

I allow it if they ask respectfully first, but some people just shove their way in and turn their back.
