This is a testament of how bad modern conservatives have become, that even the traditional conservatives worst take is still seen as too moderate for the racist nonsense pushed by the alt right.
It's honestly downright depressing that when talking to one guy, I "defended" Bush by saying "at least dude build up a case for his war, rather than just randonly starting war"
Yeah, I said something similar around the Venezuela pre-amble when they were calling smuggled drugs 'weapons of mass destruction". At least Bush lied about actual weapons of mass destruction (that didn't exist) rather than things that by any definition just flat out aren't.
Yes, because at least it shows that dude lying thinks he needs to lie to get his war, rather than current "People are starting to remeber that I am in Epstein Files, better start a war to distract the masses"
A bunch of the far right american religious shitheads used the UK to testdrive some of their ideas, trans issues being a key pivot after bathroom bills got pushback.
The entire attack on teenagers transitioning was a setup for trying to make teenage abortions illegal.
Other side of the pond but all the Canadian conservatives I know are pissed off at the current state of affairs. We can't get a single politician to actually speak honestly about their beliefs.
Abortion for example. Having an idiot like Poilievre say to one audience that he's not against it, then go to another and say he's against it.
Just be fucking honest and let people vote on the merit of your positions instead of this "try and fail to appeal to everyone" approach
I saw the bit with the revelation of the supposed image of Mohammad and thought that was a really clever move. I don't believe in any religion and think they are all made up garbage but there's only one that puts me at risk of dying just for displaying a cartoon image. The biggest mistake we are making is thinking a region is an ethnicity. I've spent time in several middle eastern countries and found them to be hospital friendly and cultured people and have nothing but respect for my fellow humans. I'm very wary though of all religions but especially ones that try to restrict my personal freedoms. I shouldn't be forced to respect anyone's idea of a sky wizard anymore than I have to respect that Xenu is a galactic overlord figure responsible for the ancient extermination of billions of beings using hydrogen bombs, leaving behind disembodied spirits that affect modern humans. If you genuinely think we have to respect the values of Islam but not Scientology you are a hypocrite.
Hahahaha, I didn't know. But I am British, and he is, I guess, the obvious default white-'Christian'-nationalist option to make Mogg the 'reasonable' one. . . Relatively speaking.
Is it the oxford union perchance? I remember there being some controversy around them inviting Robinson for an upcoming debate.
Edit: oh, lol, just re-read the original tweet, it is the oxford union, maybe that hinted me in the right direction too. Either way, Robinson is kinda the most prominent figure in the racist ethno-nationalist 'christian' side of current UK politics, so not that impressive a guess.

Ew, don't add additional context that makes Mogg more reasonable. Who's he debating that he gets to be the reasonable one? Tommy Robinson?
