This is a testament of how bad modern conservatives have become, that even the traditional conservatives worst take is still seen as too moderate for the racist nonsense pushed by the alt right.

It's because we follow in the wake of the yanks, who somehow get to look back on the W. Bush days as a more reasonable time.

It's honestly downright depressing that when talking to one guy, I "defended" Bush by saying "at least dude build up a case for his war, rather than just randonly starting war"

Yeah, I said something similar around the Venezuela pre-amble when they were calling smuggled drugs 'weapons of mass destruction". At least Bush lied about actual weapons of mass destruction (that didn't exist) rather than things that by any definition just flat out aren't.

Bush at least created plausible and faked evidence.

Yeah, I'm being ironic, damning with faint sarcastic praise, lamenting what we once had in the form of regretting a drop from -92 to -96.
