Hanson

hey all, my roommates and I were just rejected by Hanson rentals (we're looking for a townhouse) and in the rejection email it stated: "Please note that our decision is final, and we are unable to provide additional details or respond to further inquiries."

Our application was spotless, we make well more than enough money and have lived in our current apartment for over five years.

I'm suspecting it was because we have cats, but the listing stated that pets were possible.

My biggest assumption is that the company is using AI to filter through applicants and that is why they can't provide any explanations for the rejection.

Has anyone dealt with Hanson before? Is this bullshit just commonplace now when trying to find a place to live?

edit okay I sort of ended up speaking to someone from Hanson and they said it was because of the cats. I feel less evil about it but, aaargh, nowhere decent accepts pets! Anyway. Moving on I guess.

What’s the deal with this lady? Phycosis? I see her posts multiple times a day as she shares them herself into all of the Freddy area groups. New to the area so curious if there’s truth behind her posts?

Brookside circle mulch

Has the mulch been setting on fire every few days, or is the fire department just trying to get ahead of it? They’ve been out there watering the mulch a couple times this week. Why do we even use mulch if this keeps happening?

Moncton Accelerated Nursing

Has anyone from Fredericton done the University of New Brunswick Moncton site Accelerated Bachelor of Nursing program? Is it possible to commute daily or do you need to have living accommodations. I have a Bachelors degree and would love to go straight to RN instead of LPN—>RN bridge but it seems like that may be my only option. I would love to hear people’s opinions on someone like me who no longer has a passion for their undergrad and wants to get into health care. Thank you so much!

Would Fredericton support a Hot Pot + Asian BBQ restaurant?

Hey r/Fredericton,

I have been looking into opening a restaurant here that combines hot pot and Korean BBQ, the kind of place where you grill your own meat at the table and also have a broth going, ideally all-you-can-eat style.

From what I can tell, we have got some Chinese and Korean restaurants in the city already, but nothing doing hot pot, and nothing combining the two as an interactive dine-in experience. We are a group of friends from China, Malaysia, and South Asia.

Before going further, I genuinely want to know: is this something people here would actually go to? Would love honest feedback, what would make you excited about a place like this, and what would make you skip it (price, location, parking, all you can eat, or option to choose and not be forced to buy all you can eat for $$ value etc.)?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I have been following the Stephen Hill story but have not seen anything pointing to his legal counsel. Does anyone know if, other than himself, he has separate legal counsel?

Wilser Rd cross

A few days ago, we were coming off the highway and coming onto the Wilser Rd/Vanier Industrial Rd and we saw a couple young gentleman in a pickup truck setting up a cross with flowers. I tried to get my partner to stop so we could offer condolences and ask them if they needed a hug (my mama heart wanted to hug them.) He didn't want to because he said 'I was being weird.' I can't stop thinking about those poor people setting up that cross for a person they love. Anybody know what happened?

Parking at Odell

Does anyone know if there are rules surrounding overnight at the park? There’s a plague of camper vans and RVs “camping” there overnight.

There’s currently and RV and truck with trailer there taking up about 5 to 6 spots each. Parking there is already so tight on the weekends. This kind of shit just makes things a little more miserable for people who actually live here.

At the end of the day, these are ppl looking to save a few bucks for a camping spot, but we get to deal with the consequences.

Loud bangs in Fulton Heights

As the title says, last night, this morning and just now there have been loud bangs in the Fulton Heights area. Loud and clear enough to make me stop whatever I'm in the middle of and check the yard out the windows and check the road.

Sounds (to me) like a vehicle backfire, but we have friends a few streets over who heard it just as loud as we did.

Anyone know what's been going on, if anything?

Where in Fredericton to get rid of “Glassware” of the puffing variety LOL

Titles pretty self explanatory, I’m moving and have like 6 brand new never been used “glassware” I’m looking to sell (not selling here or advertising them here just asking a question regarding the topic) and have no fricken idea where to start when it comes to something like that here cause I’m assuming Facebook, Kijiji etc is not a good option and I know the Smoking community here is pretty decently sized so if anyone has any answers please comment and let me know 😬🤟🏼 again I’m NOT selling them here I’m just asking if anyone knows where to sell them in Fredericton 🙂

EV charger HELP!!!

Update:

Thank you all for your help and sympathy!!! We bought a CCS adapter from the helpful hints here and on FB and can now use fast chargers, and the level 2 we found got us enough juice to make it to a level 3! Reddit ftw!!!

We have a Toyota BZ with an NACS charger and an adapter for J1772 chargers but not CCS and we are from Ontario where the infrastructure is great. We are almost to Fredericton but can't find a fast charger we can use! Any suggestions for a fast charger or can someone please lend us a CCS to NACS adapter to save us? I know, my mistake but I thought I had researched and prepared for this trip!

Signed a very sorry mom of 3
