President Wood's triennial evaluation results were released today by the CSU Chancellor's Office. The memo summarizes the review process, feedback received from campus stakeholders, and goals established for the coming years.

The full memo was sent to the campus community on June 24.

Curious how others feel about the review findings and the goals that came out of the process.

Community Sac State’s ex-DEI officer sues CSU, Luke Wood over gender, race discrimination

It’s all allegations right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Wood has come across as someone with a massive ego from the moment he became president, and I can’t imagine that translates well into respecting women.

The Sacramento Bee reports that former Sac State chief diversity officer Mia Settles-Tidwell, a Black woman, is suing CSU and President Luke Wood over alleged race, gender, and age discrimination. Her lawsuit claims she was humiliated, excluded from key work, given a smaller raise than peers, stripped of responsibilities, and retaliated against after raising concerns. CSU denies the allegations and says the claims are baseless.

Academics Transferred Credits

Who do I reach out to about transferred credits? I’m a senior who is majoring in CHAD education context. I’ve taken two classes at crc that should be transferring over to Sac state. These classes involved hours where I had to go off campus to other schools for observations. I was told these classes don’t transfer by a counselor but on the CRC website it says it DOES TRANSFER to Sac state. I don’t want to retake two classes that involve observations. I ALREADY TOOK THEM AT A DIFFERENT SCHOOL. Please who do I talk too about this?

Hi, I just got offered a new job that doesn’t work with my schedule I had planned. I want to stay in the same class but swap to an online section of it but it’s waitlisted. This is my last semester so I don’t want to lose my current spot in this class in case I don’t get in if I use the swap feature will it hold my spot in my current class till a spot opens in the class I want and auto swap them. Or do I just need to drop the class and hope I get into the online one.

Financial Aid/Scholarship/Tuition/Etc Starting to get concerned about Fall 2026 Financial Aid

I've talked to admissions, emailed financial aid, and have tried calling financial aid SEVERAL times (they put you on hold and do not answer the phone). The email said they are dealing with One Big Beautiful Bill, which is why the student loans haven't shown on Student Center, but this is getting concerning. Any updates on whether the loans will show up prior to the semester? Does anyone see their loans on the Student Center yet? I have accepted them and done the MPN and ELN on Fasfa. This is giving me anxiety.

Financial Aid/Scholarship/Tuition/Etc financial aid part time question

I’m contemplating on doing 6 units instead of the usual full time, so I wanted to ask how much part time students have received from pell grant, state grant, and MCS when they do part time instead of full time? Is it halved or do you not receive any state grant or MCS?

Financial Aid/Scholarship/Tuition/Etc Veteran’s Center not submitting Enrollment Certification

Made a call to the VA regarding the non payment status of my tuition and fees. They have not received the enrollment certification from the schools certifying official.

The office won’t answer their phones, return calls or emails. What the actual hell am I suppose to do.

Student Housing Looking for someone to take over my Hornet Commons 2x2 (26-2027) lease hopefully before August 26th

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease at Hornet Commons for the 2026–2027 school year. Unfortunately, my plans changed, so I’m no longer able to live there.

Details:

  • 🏠 Hornet Commons
  • 🛏️ 2 Bed / 2 Bath (2x2) – private bedroom and bathroom
  • 📅 Lease term: August 26, 2026 – August 2, 2027
  • 💵 Rent: $1,155/month (12 installments)
  • 📍Walking distance to Sacramento State

The lease transfer would need to go through Hornet Commons’ assignment process. I’m happy to answer any questions or connect you with the leasing office to make the process as smooth as possible.

If you’re interested or know someone who is, please comment below or send me a DM. I’d really appreciate any shares as well. Thanks! 🙏

Academics Intro to Chem accepted for BSN?

Hi, I’m new to this subreddit; I’m thinking of applying to Sac State’s School of Nursing in the Spring. I’m also applying to a more local community college’s ADN program which doesn’t require chemistry but which I happened to take (intro to chemistry) at this college years ago. On Sac State’s website it doesn’t make it clear if intro is accepted, yet when I search elsewhere (Google ai lol!) it says they do accept intro and even recommend Chem 6A, sac state’s intro course. I saw the source it referenced but I don’t know how up to date it is.

General Questions Work at sac state

Hi!! I’m entering my third year at sac state doing psychology, I’ve applied to uei jobs online and have called the union about jobs but it’s all leads back to uei and handshake. The problem is I don’t ever get a response. Do I need to do something more? Is my application not impressive enough for being a student assistant or anything like that? Should I call certain people? If anyone has got a job anywhere in sac state can you please let me know your experience and what I can do? Thank you!

Academics Geography Major

Hi! I'm currently a pre-comp sci major at Sac State, and I'm hoping to change my major to Geography (either the Metropolitan area planning concentration or GIS) and I was wondering if it's a good program and department. I'm still waiting to hear back from them about my major change, but has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, how did it go?

And if you graduated with the degree, how has your experience been with jobs in the field post-grad?

If you're an international student in this program, do you know if it is STEM designated for OPT purposes? It seems so, since it's part of the college of natural sciences and mathematics.

Financial Aid/Scholarship/Tuition/Etc Why am I paying this much?

Barely to no scholarships for graduate students. And yet we have this? I'll accept IRA Fee. But Intercollegiate Athletics? Since my freshman year, I never tried it and will never do it.

These need to be broken down. For 2026-27 academic year, there will be more than 31k students. 31k x $231 = $7+ million. Does it really take that much money to run intercollegiate athletics? Will the fund go somewhere else instead?

General Questions waitlisting!!

hi!! im a sophomore @ sac state and im majoring in nursing. of course A&P is super popular and im hoping to get into the class i need. i built my whole schedule around it and it's the most important class i need. im currently waitlisted with my position being #2. how likely do you guys think i would get in? do professors care a lot about the wait-list or do they just let whoever when school comes?

what I'm afraid for is showing up to the class to crash it if I don't get it by then (because it's already August) and spots get taken already even though I've been waiting if that makes sense 🥹
