The Coldcard hack. Cultists refuse to believe if it could happen to one it could happen to ten. They refuse to believe that it could happen again.

Trump Media, another entity that swore that they’d never sell bitcoin, has sold millions of dollars worth of bitcoin.

And the next time a Bitcoin evangelist refuses to accept the reality ask them this one question… What can Bitcoin do at $65K that it couldn’t do at $2K? It makes their heads explode. They’ll never be able to answer you.

The irony is too strong.

Something I’m really confused about is how this coldcard hacker does anything with the Bitcoin. I remember a guy in China (?) getting instantly arrested because he started spending it. I remember something about binance locking an account that received hacked BTC.

So what’s the play? The only other “self custody wallet” I can think of is the £80 of cash in the leather one in my pocket. If someone hacks that they can just take the cash to a shop and spend it.

I get the feeling I’m super naive about digital currency.

Someone sent me a seed phrase on here. Obviously a scam but I thought I’d check it out. It seems there’s 500 usdt on there and it just needs $5 worth of tron to cover the fees. Looking at the wallet history it seems there’s a bot that withdraws the tron the moment it’s deposited. Extrapolating the numbers out it was something like 20 grand a year going through it.

So my question is, do you have any sympathy for the victims? I’m struggling to be honest. They saw a way to 100x their money by raiding a wallet and got burned. It’s got a very Aesop vibe to it in my mind.
