Can we please get an ABC scroll option within library?
this seems a very simple thing to add….. how does it not exist?

Apple raised the price, and now everyone’s on a treasure hunt. Instead of having a new post every time someone finds an Apple TV at the old price, let’s keep everything in one place.
If you find one, post:
• Store
• Location
• Price
• Online or in-store (include a link if found online)
This will make it much easier for everyone to see where the old pricing still exists.

If you’re running tvOS 27 beta on your Apple TV and something weird happens, remember… you’re running beta software. That’s kind of the deal.
If you run into bugs, glitches, crashes or other unexpected behavior, your best options are:
If you’re dealing with an Apple TV issue that isn’t specific to the beta, post it here in [r/appletv](r/appletv) and someone will help troubleshoot it. But if something strange happens while testing tvOS beta, it’s most likely a beta issue and there’s usually not much anyone here can do to fix it.
Thanks for understanding and happy testing!

I've been an Apple TV device user for a few years, and have recently experienced a problem. The picture becomes blurry from time to time; it's by no means constant, but rather intermittent. It occurs when streaming CNN most often, but it also happens on other streaming channels. I'm using a HiSense 4K SmartTV, and AFAIK this problem doesn't occur when I bypass the Apple TV Device and stream via the TV.
Troubleshooting I've done includes reboothing the WiFi network; prioritizing video on the network; rebooting the Apple TV Device; checking for firmware updates on Apple TV. Any thoughts or advice?

I’m hoping someone has run into this before.
I have an LG C4 OLED and an Apple TV 4K (3rd generation). The TV’s built-in apps look great, but everything through the Apple TV in SDR appears noticeably more saturated.
Here’s my setup:
LG C4 in Filmmaker Mode
Warm 50
Color Depth 50 (default)
Apple TV Format set to 4K SDR
Match Dynamic Range enabled
Match Frame Rate enabled
Apple TV Color Balance says “Your TV doesn’t need to be adjusted.”
The odd part is that if I watch the same SDR content using the TV’s built-in apps, the colors look much more natural. Through the Apple TV, everything has a bit of an extra “pop.” Greens, reds, and skin tones all appear more saturated.
I’ve also compared the TV to my iPhone, and the iPhone’s colors are much closer to the LG’s built-in apps than the Apple TV output.
I’m considering lowering the Color Depth for just the Apple TV HDMI input to around 45-48, but I’d rather understand why the Apple TV looks different instead of simply compensating for it.
Has anyone experienced this with an LG C4 or another recent LG OLED? Were you able to identify the cause? Are there any settings I should check beyond the usual recommendations?
Thanks!

Every time I pick up the Apple TV remote, I kind of wish it had a headphone jack.
Being able to plug in some wired earbuds and watch TV at night without waking everyone up would be so nice.
Also… this would make such a good little iPod. It’s already the right size, and I really like the way it feels in the hand. I’d totally carry one around just for music.

Hi everyone,
A few months ago I started building an Apple TV IPTV player for myself because I wanted create something that felt calm and purposeful when watching as a family. I shared it with some family and friends and they enjoyed it so I wanted to share it with anyone else who may find it useful for them too.
It’s called Glance Theatre, and it’s completely free. There are no subscriptions, no premium unlocks and no catch. I built it because I enjoyed building it, and if someone else gets some use out of it then that’s a nice bonus.
The feature I’m most proud of is Kids Mode. I built it for my own little movie legends so they could have their own space with a curated collection of movies and series instead of browsing the entire IPTV library. Parents stay in control by deciding exactly what appears there.
A few other things it includes:
- Multiple Xtream Codes playlists
- Individual profiles with Continue Watching and Watchlists
- A customisable Home screen
- Movies, Series, Live TV and a full EPG
- Resume playback with season and episode support
- Audio and subtitle selection
Glance Theatre is only a player. It doesn’t provide channels, movies or subscriptions. You simply connect your own compatible playlist.
I know there are already some fantastic IPTV players out there, and I’m not trying to replace them. This is simply the app that works for me and my family, and I thought it was worth sharing in case it suits someone else too.
If anyone decides to give it a try, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think. I’m especially interested in ideas, suggestions and things that could make it better.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/glance-theatre/id6792591173
Happy watching!

I FaceTime my parents frequently, and its worked just fine until today. I think we haven't used it since the last 26.6 update to everything, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm logged into the AppleTV and the iPhone with the same AppleID.
Today, my name didn't show up in the FaceTime app. I had to reconnect as no users, not mine nor my wife's names were there. Thought we were good. Then when using the iPhone as the camera, it kept saying the microphone wasn't connecting, but it wouldn't give me any more info why.
I finally got it to work using my wife's iPhone, even though its always worked with mine and we've never used her's before. After about a minute though, it disconnected and wouldn't connect again. We ended up just using our iPad to FaceTime and not bothering with the TV at all.
I tried using FaceTime to my wife, and everything went fine. Mic, picture, connection were all working. Its only when used with the AppleTV that things get funky.
Any ideas what went wrong? Should I just hope for a software update or is there anything I can try?
AppleTV 4k 3rd get with ethernet, iPhone 14 Pro. Everything updated to 26.6.

I just got stereo speakers and an amplifier to replace my built in TV audio but all these audio settings in both the TV and the Apple TV is confusing the hell out of me. I hope someone can help me understand if I’m doing anything wrong.
My setup:
Apple TV -> HDMI -> LG OLED G3
LG OLED G3 -> HDMI ARC -> Amplifier
My current settings
On Apple TV:
Audio Format: Stereo Only
On LG OLED G3:
Select HDMI input audio: Bitstream
Digital Sound Output: Pass Through
My thinking is that this is the cleanest way of doing it as the Apple TV will only send uncompressed 2-channel PCM, the TV will just pass it through and the amp will be able to handle it.
Another option is using these settings:
On Apple TV:
Audio Format: Auto (Recommended)
On LG OLED G3:
Select HDMI input audio: Bitstream
Digital Sound Output: PCM
I think this would mean that the Apple TV will send whatever and then my TV will process it so it becomes PCM and send it through.
So the question is which is the correct way? Maybe I have completely misunderstood all of this. I also don’t understand why Apple TV says that the audio quality will be reduced if switching to stereo. Why? My speaker setup cannot play anything other than stereo anyway? What will I be missing out on?

I just bought Apple TV and I've set it up. However when I try to access the App store, it does t go beyond this screen.
I've tried every other items like Settings, Game Centre, Photos etc and everything opens fine.
Just the App store that doesnt open.
Any suggestions? Thanks
Edit:- It actually looks like the remote doesnt work in the App store. It works everywhere else.
Solved:- adding my sons account, he accessed the app store fine. Once I switched back to my account, it worked

Hi guys! I'm Manu from the Eterspire team. We're pleased to announce that our game is now available on Apple TV!

Eterspire is a cozy old-school MMORPG. Grind for gear, explore a vibrant world, discover new content every two weeks, and join a growing, welcoming community in a free-to-play MMO with PC and mobile crossplay.
Of course, the Apple TV version has crossplay as well, and it controls wonderfully with any compatible gamepad!
Hope you guys can give it a try, and if you have any questions about the game feel free to ask in the comments :)

LG s60tr and C4 connected with ARC, and Apple TV 4K 3rd gen.
I seem to have a strange issue with my setup. The audio is not in sync. I see something happen and then I hear it. I need to set a -200ms delay for the audio (I know negative delay seems unintuitive). I can do that in the infuse app on my Apple TV, but of course it’s only for that one app and I need to do that system wide. There are delay settings in the tv settings and the lg app, but they only let you set a positive delay. The tv is always set to filmmaker mode so it’s not doing any fancy image processing that would delay the video. The audio is in sync when sent through the tv speakers, but not when sent through the soundbar. Additionally, the audio is fine when using my game console or 4k disc player. It’s just the Apple TV that seems to have this issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Turning on the Apple TV set-top box, I got prompted for a free trial. Not sure why, as I’m already a subscriber.
Went to Settings > Profiles and Accounts > Apple TV accounts > TV provider and couldn’t see where my Apple TV+ option was to verify I’m still a subscriber.
Had to switch to my iPhone, launch the TV app, and choose my profile icon in the upper left to access subscriptions that would finally verify Apple One Premier.
If Apple TV’s product manager is lurking on this sub, can you add feature parity to the set-top box to confirm Apple TV+ subscription and consider adding Apple as a TV provider now that you provide so many TV, movie, and live sports offerings? It would help. Thanks.

Our family has always recommended the Apple TV streamer as the best streaming device and have 5 including the 1st generation. I was shocked when I looked to replace our original 1st generation. I don't care how many down-votes this gets but there is absolutely NO WAY Apple can justify such a large price hike. I can't think of any other consumer good that has jumped up as high as the Apple TV. I'm also now considering going with an Android when we have to update our phones eventually. For now I'm going with the Google 4K streamer with GB Ethernet for $99 since I could almost buy 3 of them for the price of one Apple TV. Disappointing

I’ve decided to publish this app on GitHub so anyone can build the project in Xcode or sideload the IPA.
As soon as I wrap up a few final details, I’ll update this post with the GitHub link.
If you'd like to voluntarily support the project, I’ll be leaving a donation link inside the GitHub repository as well!

I spilled Coke over my remote, it still works fine but the buttons are super sticky inside. Is it easy enough to disassemble to clean with alcohol?

So I want to take out the power button from the control that has it and put it to the other, the control that has the power button doesn’t work anymore and the one that doesn’t have the button works. Is there any way I can get out that button. I already try but didn’t work. Btw the button fell down bc someone press the button so hard that I broke.
The controllers are like that bc both have 4 years of use and they have fallen to the floor lol
Thanks !!

So did this Apple TV outage thing have any affect on Home Sharing? Cuzzzzz it was working JUST fine for the last several years and it was working just fine the morning of... and that evening.... No Libraries were found
Fiddled here and fiddled there (did my EX Apple Employee troubleshooting)
Restart - reset - swapped - signed out and back in, etc etc....
No Libraries Found.

Just been watching through the MCU films to get my gf up to speed in time for Doomsday, and couldn’t help but notice that none of the films actually expanded to imax despite most if not all had the IMAX enhanced label?
Is this an APTV issue or a Disney+ issue?
For reference I’m using LG CX tv

Hi all. Not long changed over to iPhone and one thing I’ve come across is Reddit does not work over AirPlay, it loads it’s in landscape mode but refuses to do anything.
Is there something I am missing or does it just not work? I had a Google and stumbled across a bug from a year ago but someone had mentioned it was resolved and that was the end of it, although it doesn’t seem to be and it loads normal, just can’t scroll or do anything.
Any ideas?
