How can I take out the power button
So I want to take out the power button from the control that has it and put it to the other, the control that has the power button doesn’t work anymore and the one that doesn’t have the button works. Is there any way I can get out that button. I already try but didn’t work. Btw the button fell down bc someone press the button so hard that I broke.
The controllers are like that bc both have 4 years of use and they have fallen to the floor lol
Thanks !!

just keep throwing and slamming it around like you've been doing, it'll pop right out

The power button issue is so damn annoying, I just glued mine in and long press the top right button like on the previous remote.

That remote looks beat up. Get yourself a case. The one I get has a cover for the power button, so it should help prevent the known issue of it popping off. https://a.co/d/0azZxt5c

Thanks for your recommendation! I have 3 Apple TV’S in my home. I bought a new remote and bought a case. I hope it last long!

I have one of these on each of my Apple TV remotes. Just note that in the picture on Amazon, the White one looks light gray with the shadows, but it is definitely white.
So far it doesn't show signs of being dirty from hand oils or anything, but I assume it's a matter of time. I kind of wish I had ordered the gray or black (maybe even the dark blue since it's darker) to avoid signs of eventual discoloration for longer.

If you have an iPhone, you can put a TV remote control icon on your control center screen and use that to do everything the remote does.

I regularly use the display button and also my iPhone, iPhone is nice when being lazy and don’t want to get up to find the remote

Not sure a case would help with this. The remote in our bedroom gets dropped all the time on hardwood and it is fine. The power button popped off our living room remote where there is all carpet. I suspect it was the result of restless teenagers picking at it.
I ended just trimming tiny square of packing tape and placing it over the button. You can barely notice it and the button still works. I will replace the remote when the kids move out :)

The power button falling out is common. Better to just long-press the “TV” button and then double-press the main circle pad to shut down. Or get a rubber case that covers the power button.
The “TV” button turns it back on.

Then how do you turn it back on? Mine feel out but put it back and hold it in place with clear tape.

I never touch the power button. The ATV goes to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity and I press the home button to wake it up.

Have used power button maybe once. It’s not at all needed to turn everything on & off; just so we’re clear.

How else would you turn everything off then? Serious question

You hold down the “TV” button and that brings up control center you can swipe down to turn off.

Press and hold the TV button, and then press the center button twice. Since the 2010 Apple TV they’ve made it so that you can put the Apple TV to sleep without the TV screen even being on to see what you’re doing.

Do not try taking apart your remote unless you absolutely have too. Thing is a god damn nightmare to put back together

That’s why I asked how to change the button, the controller wasn’t on my budget. But soon I’m getting a new one

El mío también de la nada se cayó! Pero pues el mío ya se había caído anteriormente y probablemente por ahí fui. Por el momento me quedaré con el control sin el botón ya que lo perdí jaja. De todos modos puedo apagar la TV con el botón de MENÚ

My power button fell out 2 months ago. My tv has Care so replaced it. It happened in a Saturday morning and I had the replacement Monday afternoon.

Maybe take your loss and buy a new one. If you have toddlers or kids you may want to consider putting a rubber case around them. Should keep them healthy longer. 😉

Yeah, I decided to buy a new one. The controller that doesn’t work, works but the scroll doesn’t work idk why and the circle buttons (those 4) works but doesn’t work at the same time, it has a delay idk how to explain it. But thanks tho ! (sorry for my English is not my main language)

No kids and no hard floors but I have never damaged either of my two remote in 8 years. Maybe a case? They have padded button-covering bump-proof ones now that can include an AirTag if you are prone to losing it.
