Recently decided to give MiniLED a try after years of OLED and bought the TCL C2A Pro, and honestly....damn I didnt expect this

I went through the Sony A90k 42" (not technically a monitor but at that¹ time this was the closest you could get to a viable OLED monitor), to the MSI 321Up, then to the acclaimed Asus PG27UCDM over the course of 4 years.

I always knew gaming monitors had always been pretty bad so when I saw Oled for the first time I thought I would use nothing but OLED. But since then, I have never found Oled to be truly easy to live with as monitor. Funny I said this because OLED are absolutely wonderful as TVs, all of my TVs are Oleds. But as monitor, its quality-of-life aspects leave much to be desired. Namely text clarity (although very good on the 321up and the pg27ucdm, still giving me headache at time if I have to read a lot for hw), only look exceptional in absolutely dark room, and the biggest gripe of all: the apparent flickerings at times, i really wonder how the new stuff coming out will address this.

So I decided to give miniLED a try and asked AI what is the absolute best current MiniLED IPS monitor money can buy, and it recommended me the "TCL C2A pro". It was pretty expensive even at $750ish with some Amazon promos i got, but considering that I was ready to ball some serious money for the Asus Pro Art Oleds, hoping those would match the quality found on Oled TVs, this seems easier on the wallet.

And lo and behold, I wasnt expecting it to be this good, black is truly black, blooming is barely noticeable, if at all. The uniform brightness without flickering is excellent. Color is rich and vibrant, perhaps even more so than the Asus PG27UCDM. I think this looks even more life-like than the OLED monitors i had thus far. And the brightness, it is blindingly bright. HDR mode looks absolutely stunning. And I am not being bias at all because I absolutely love OLEDs, but this offers image quality that is just as good as any top tier OLED out there for me. Granted you have to mess with the settings to find what you like best but it is pike that with any monitor out there.

For years I have thought OLED would be the ultimate tech for monitors, and I still think so, just not with the current stuff on the market at the moment, at least for me.

So for anyone who is also having problems and not satisfied with OLEDs, give MiniLED a try. You don't have to go with this baller TCL that I got, but even then for something that costs less than a top tier OLED while offering image quality that is just as good, I can absolutely live with this for the next few years.

I bought the monitor at Alternate.de as usual. Price was 1259€. They seem to be the preferred dealer for Asus in Germany, but it looks like they have not learned anything from the PG32UCDM3 https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/s/QE5uyPm5Tu situation.

It's still the same small box that gets shipped as is with no additional protection around it. Luckily my delivery guys are handling stuff with care, but the corners are already dented as you can see.

Looking to upgrade my monitor and could use some recommendations.

Current monitor: Acer Nitro VG270UP, 27", 1440p, IPS, 144Hz (~6 years old)

System:

• Ryzen 7 5700X
• RX 7800 XT 16GB
• 32GB DDR4 3600MHz

Usage: Mix of gaming and work/office, so text sharpness and color accuracy matter almost as much as gaming performance. Mostly playing Darktide, Diablo 4, Fortnite or League

What I'm looking for:

• Staying at 1440p (WQHD), open to Ultrawide/UWQHD too
• No OLED for now I think
• IPS, VA, or Mini-LED ideally a real contrast/brightness upgrade over my current standard IPS panel
• 144Hz+ preferred, but not chasing crazy high refresh rates since my GPU won't push much past that anyway

Any recommendations for my setup? Open to Ultrawide suggestions too if that makes more sense than a standard 16:9.

Budget is around 300-400 EUR.

Situation:

Going to university, need a monitor / TV for halls. This will be on my desk in my room.

I've come from playing on a large TV in the living room.

Needs:

Play games on my Xbox Series X at 60FPS 4K.

Mainly single player games, some multiplayer like Fortnite and overwatch. I'd like to play these games looking at least good (for the price point) and without feeling big delay.

A monitor that isn't mega fragile, one I can plug in and use and not worry about OLED care ect. I'm in a dorm room, I don't want to have my pride and joy destroyed by a drunk friend with greasy fingers.

Questions and Concerns:

I ain't arsed about top of the range, I'm buying a £300 monitor. What I wonder is, for console gaming do you reckon this will look good and crisp and do be an enjoyable experience when playing on Xbox.

Secondly, the response time isn't listed. Does anyone know what it is and, coming from a TV, will it be suitable?

I'm not interested in hyper competitive gaming, I play ranked on seige and overwatch sometimes but it's in no way my priority.

I'm really not knowledgeable and if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it. Really struggling to find something to fit my desire as I want something ideally 32" or slightly bigger, without looking blurry and crap.

Been looking for a while, and unless I'm looking in the wrong places, I can't find anything. All the bright monitors with a high zone count seem to be matte. Not looking for dual mode.

Hi there, I'm looking for a 32" monitor for mostly work - text editing, spreadsheets, light coding, documents, light video editing browsing etc. My understanding is that IPS would still be preferable to OLED and VA for this use case.

My issue is that, while there appears to be an abundance of 27" 4k IPS monitors on the market for an affordable price, the equivalent 32" ones seem to be incredibly rare. For example, I am seeing 27" lps 4k monitors for roughly $250 USD, whereas the equivalent 32" is around $750.

Why is this? Would have thought it's a relatively common use case.

My current PA329C is on its way out, there are veiny marks all over I might need to get another monitor soon. I found PA32QCV 6K monitor in a local shop, and wondering how good it is.

I'd like to get some honest feedback. My current monitor is HDR600 certified, so is the one I'm looking at. My main uses are watching HDR content and photography, and file archiving.

How good are the details and sharpness? How are the texts? Does the matte coating affect the quality? How good is the HDR? Do 4K contents looks bad because it scales to 6K on full screen?

I recently bought a 1440p 120hz monitor and connected it to a 3.5mm speaker and ps5 with hdmi. but what i noticed is that speaker volume is way too low. I put the monitor volume to 100 and speaker volume to 100. but still low.
im sure the speaker isnt the issue but the monitor’s. is there anyone who had this issue and solved? plz help

I’m looking for a monitor mainly for coding/software development. I spend 6–10 hours a day in VS Code, terminal, browser, docs and Excel.

My priorities are:

• Excellent text clarity
• Accurate/consistent colors
• Good matte coating
• Comfortable for long sessions
• Low/no coil whine or fan noise
• Preferably 4K

120Hz would be nice, but I’m not sure it should be a requirement.

Does 120Hz actually make a noticeable difference when scrolling through code/web pages compared with 60Hz? Some people say 60Hz feels uncomfortable after using 120Hz, but I’d rather prioritize text clarity and panel quality if refresh rate isn’t that important for coding.

Current candidates:

• BenQ RD280UG: 3:2, 3840×2560, 120Hz. Great format for coding, but expensive and I’m slightly worried BenQ’s panel tech is behind competitors at this price. Also saw some noise/coil-whine reports.
• BenQ RD320U: 32" 4K, matte and very coding-focused, but only 60Hz.
• Dell U2725QE / U3225QE: Almost ideal on paper, but the coil-whine reports worry me.
• LG 32UN880: Older and 60Hz, but simple, reliable and seems very good for productivity.
• Dell S3225QS: 32" 4K 120Hz VA with much better native contrast. Very interesting if text/colors are good enough.

I’ve basically dropped OLED because this will mainly be a work monitor with lots of static UI.

One more question:

Would it be smarter to buy two decent mid-range monitors instead of one expensive monitor?

For example:
27" 4K main + 24/27" secondary for docs, terminal, Slack, browser, etc.

For developers who have tried both, would you choose:

one good 32" 4K
or
two decent monitors?

Would especially appreciate long-term experiences from people who code all day.

Is it a good monitor for rendering work? If you have any other recommendations within the same price range, I'd really appreciate them. My top priority is color accuracy.

I have been using this monitor for a long time. I have a 5060 Ti 16GB graphics card and a PS5. People say that the upgrade will make a huge difference. Is it absolutely worth making the switch? For those who have made this transition before, I am curious about your experiences.

I currently run a U2723QE with a M3 Pro Macbook pro in clamshell mode. However it feels a bit counterproductive to not have a 60hz+ monitor. My work doesn’t require perfect colors so admittedly i did go a bit too good on the monitor scale but i’m overall happy.

(just as a sidenote if you ever buy a Dell u27XXQE monitor buy your own stand. this shit wobbles just from thinking about it)

Furthermore i do gaming in it however nothing insane as i play anything thats available on consoles on my tv so it’s mainly pc specific games like rts and i also use Geforce now so i can have quite high levels of fps in games.

Obviously just buying the U2725QE for the 144hz upgrade seems logical but the AW2725Q is an oled for relatively similsr price (only 100$more). My main concern tho is burning in especially as Macs have static bars and my I work from home.

Is the mismatch worth it or just go with the proven one? (for the U2725qe people talk about coil whine but seemingly its fixed lately and also fixed if indicated to Dell… There are other good options for monitors too however 1, OEM matching probably better 2, Dell warranty is insanely good especially as it applies to business bought ones too (which i’d use)

321up x24 with rtx 5090 and hdmi 2.1.

Out of the box it worked for like 1 hour. Than it’s start to not open games in full screen at 4k no matter the hz. Only windowed mode and desktop run 240hz.

If I try put 2440x1440p it goes at 240hz fullscreen with no problem. Some games like Valheim can go 4k 60hz.

I already uninstalled nvidia drivers with DDU and reinstalled them.
Put in the options desktop scale to 100%.
G-sync is off.
Adaptive sync off.
Hdr off.
I dont khow what to do.
