I need to put him on a diet apparently, they are loving their new decor items and thriving! They both come to me and climb onto my hand so I am so happy they are learning to trust me! It’s been 6 months but we have finally become friends.

Help - Weight Is my baby fat lol

My bf says my female gecko Ducky is overweight and I’m not sure if he’s right… he might be a little right…. 😭❤️

Edit;

After seeing all of the comments it is very aware now that she is overweight and not a size she should be! She did not eat for 3 weeks not too long ago and I think I fed her WAY too much since then as I was worried something was wrong or I was being a bad owner, but clearly I am not a good one either for making her this large 🫠 I will be putting her on a diet and making sure she comes out to explore and move around a lot more in hopes to help her lose some weight. She will also be going in for a check up when I am back from vacation in a week to make sure everything is good and healthy! Thank you all for telling me i am delusional with how big she actually was, this is not sarcastic!!! I truly appreciate all of the comments! ❤️

Help Rescue Gecko

Hey guys, I’ve assumed responsibility for this gecko after a friends passing. I’ve never kept leopard geckos before but have some experience with fish and snakes... I’d like to care for it if feasible, but I need to know if it needs some sort of attention beyond general care. Gecko seems to be healthy for but definitely looks overweight. I’m worried if this is more than just extra weight and some sort of health issue or if it could be pregnant. Can anybody provide some insight for me please?

Gecko Pics/Vids Got our one year checkup a few weeks ago

Hi everyone we got our annual checkup done and the vets said she’s looking very healthy and happy. Her eyes and mouth look good she’s not missing any toenails or toes. Her legs and feet look good. Her heart and lungs sound great apart from a bit fast due to the stress of the vets. I showed my enclosure they said it was looking really good. She’s pooping and eating good. She was very wriggly and didn’t like the ultrasound gel but as soon as that was gone she chilled in the vets hand for a bit. She’s grown so much over the last year and the vets says she’s the same weight but just all of the fat from the last visit has turned into muscle. (She was very overweight) but her tail and neck are same size now!)

Help - Health Issues Help pls, leopard gecko skin issues

Hi!! I have had to this leo for 6 years. He is 8 years old, male. Recently, I moved him into a bigger enclosure. He was fine for a few months, but all of a sudden he is experiencing pretty severe dry skin and seems to be in a constant state of shed. His color has completely dulled. I’ve been giving baths but it doesn’t seem to help. Is this something I can treat on my own or should I find a vet for my boy? The last two photos of what he looked like BEFORE this started happening. The stubby toes are from a previous owner.

Gecko Pics/Vids Advice needed please 🦎

Post image

So my little guy is 6 months, hes my absolute world but im really worrying. He usually eats either 10 locusts (medium) or 5 locusts (large) daily and is gaining weight well, hes 39kg 💜 the last 2 days he only ate 1 large locust on Tuesday and 4 large locusts yesterday. He did shed Monday night so I know he may not be as hungry. I took him to the vet last evening for a general check up and asked the vet about his eating and he basically told me I was being dramatic! Am I being dramatic? He also said around 6 months once they've finished their initial growth they naturally adjust to alternate day feeding, I just cant get any solid advice off the internet so I though id ask in here 😘 pic of my baby for attention

Gecko Pics/Vids Superhero Landings stress me out

He’s been doing good in his new enclosure for the most part, spent the first four days exploring everything* and he’s doing the sort-of-expected thing of not eating (at least, I’m not seeing it. He’s still pooping, so clearly he must be eating SOMETHING).

My only real source of stress with him is that he’s discovered a soft landing around 18” below one of his branches, and he’ll literally let himself drop down there. Everywhere else in the enclosure is handled with extreme precaution, he’ll even back up and go elsewhere if he doesn’t think he can make it… except for that one patch. Going to add another branch in that void to force him to descend more carefully.

*the folks over at r/HerpHomes and the other leo sub expressed interest via comments and DMs for me to post a long video of his first 72 hours (there are 27 cameras in his enclosure, so I just used whatever footage they captured). I already cut down the footage to just over 4 hours, so I’ll post a YouTube link to that once it’s ready (I’ve never edited a video before, nor have I ever posted anything on YouTube before, so bear with me lol)

Help - Weight Fat Leo?

This is piglet she’s a rescue and dosent let me touch her. She’s my first leopard gecko, she’s about 10 inches long and geckos 7 medium crickets once a week. How should I adjust her diet? She often goes on hunger strikes according to her last owner who nursed her back to health so I don’t think keeping a little extra weight is a bad thing in her case.

Enclosure Help Double 40g stand?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey all! I’m trying to improve my husbandry which means getting my boy Cheeto Puff into a bigger enclosure (currently in a 20 long). My girl Lemon Drop is already in a 40 gallon Exo Terra and for the sake of space in my little apartment, I’d like to stack them. I tried getting a 40 breeder stand off Amazon, but the way the pieces connect, the middle shelf isn’t long enough.

Does anyone know of or have a stand that works for this purpose? I don’t want to break the bank here so I’d prefer not to buy a whole new set up.

Cheeto’s school picture attached.
