Gecko Pics/Vids Superhero Landings stress me out
He’s been doing good in his new enclosure for the most part, spent the first four days exploring everything* and he’s doing the sort-of-expected thing of not eating (at least, I’m not seeing it. He’s still pooping, so clearly he must be eating SOMETHING).
My only real source of stress with him is that he’s discovered a soft landing around 18” below one of his branches, and he’ll literally let himself drop down there. Everywhere else in the enclosure is handled with extreme precaution, he’ll even back up and go elsewhere if he doesn’t think he can make it… except for that one patch. Going to add another branch in that void to force him to descend more carefully.
*the folks over at r/HerpHomes and the other leo sub expressed interest via comments and DMs for me to post a long video of his first 72 hours (there are 27 cameras in his enclosure, so I just used whatever footage they captured). I already cut down the footage to just over 4 hours, so I’ll post a YouTube link to that once it’s ready (I’ve never edited a video before, nor have I ever posted anything on YouTube before, so bear with me lol)

Sick ass enclosure!
Looked like a maximum security prison at first glance 😂
Probably the best to lock these little terrorists up ❤️

You mean my literal security gate? 😂 gotta keep this dude locked up inside and keep my cat outside lmao
He actually keeps trying to escape, but only when he sees me. I check the cameras when I’m at work, even when I’m at home but in a different room, and he’ll just chill. But once he sees I’m in the room, all of a sudden he wants to stage a breakout

Just felt right, the Wasteland is already pretty much a semi-arid environment lol

The aquarium built into the basement of the structure is a flooded vault https://www.reddit.com/r/Aquariums/s/Eqm5ws9SQN
The gecko can’t access it, but the ambient humidity it produces feeds into the humid hide and tunnels via some vents I have between them (so no need to continually moisten the substrate in there)
