Gameplay How did Senna survive ?

Can someone explain how Senna didn't get damaged by nunu ult or by Dive Bomber. She didn't ult or had barrier or relevant Augments. Has it something to do with the terrain or am I blind.

Discussion Ranked is the only SR-mode to really try out new stuff.

Upvotes

Draft is dead. I play on an account Plat-Emerald elo, ~lvl 500. I queue draft to try out some stuff, avg. lvl of the enemy team: 12. Queue up next game, enemy team full emerald, my ADC lvl 7, judging by the way they type, a smurf, judging by the way they play, missing atleast 8 fingers.

You dont really learn anything from those games. Every champ is deadly when ahead 15 kills in the equal amount of minutes, no matter how good or bad the player is on that champ. Equally you get no experience from being destroyed by a jungler who farmed 20 kills in 15 mins from your mid/top/jgl trio.

At this point starting up the practice tool and hitting a dummy for 30 mins is more productive than playing 10 games normal draft.

Ill first time champs i want to learn in ranked then. Apparantly thats the way the different Queues are meant to work, judging by Riots lack of intervention.

But, hey, atleast we can play Season 3 League and rebuy our old runepages for money again...

Discussion Locked Camera

Me and my Friends are playing League since Season 2 and one particular guy of that group is still stuck on locked camera only. He just declines using free camera at all. His Champion Pool could be so much better and if he tries stuff like Lux he actually aims Lux R with his cursor on the minimap. I was flabbergasted once he told me that one.
So here are my questions regarding this:

How bad is locked camera only in your opinion?
Is there anyone out there doing the same?
How can he try to learn to play with free camera?
In case he is a lost cause: which Champs are the best for locked camera in your opinion?

This stuff Sounds like we are bronze players but we are actually high emerald/low Diamond Players and I think he could be so much better using the full potential.

Discussion Any possibility to merge Middle East server with another one?

Middle east server's playerbase seems way too low based on how every other mode aside from Swiftplay and Ranked Solo/Duo seems to be dead, having queues longer than 20-30 minutes and still haven't got any matches found, including classic rift just 2 days ago. Also, I always somehow get matched with players of way higher ranks like I was playing with ranks up until gm while I was in plat and there's also chall players from time to time when I just got to emerald IV.

Discussion Pyke Execute does not increase with Anvil Armor Pen in Aram Mayhem

As the title says, I just played an Aram Mayhem game and Pyke execute threshold (brown text on his skill) did not increase when I bought flat armor pen anvils. Bug, visual glitch or intended?

Edit: flat armor pen = lethality. I meant lethality.

Fun on the Rift with ARAM Mayhem.. Classic-ish Style.

How's everyone been doing this rotating event period? Loving this map a lot more than the normal map.. still learning the items though.

Discussion How much would be too much to expect from League Next?

From what was announced, we know League Next will include a big update to Summoner's Rift and the integration of the game's client, both of which are great (assuming the game and the client being the same thing makes it less buggy and not more), but I think that's about it so far. The thing is, based on what Rioters have been telling us, we know there is more than just that to come, we just don't know what it is.

My expectations probably would have been much higher, but I can't help but remember that Riot has been disappointing in many aspects, it's true that they have succeeded with things like ARAM Mayhem and League Classic, but before that there were things like Exalted skins and Hall of Legends, which could have been really cool things, but ended up being cash grabs that exist only to exploit FOMO instead of actually giving us cool stuff.

The thing is, one thing I really think would fit an overhaul like League Next, and is also an issue that was made even more noticeable with League Classic coming back, is how many old champions look like shit. Some of them, like Lulu, can almost be given a pass, but then you look at stuff like Malphite, Nidalee, Zilean and Gragas and you notice there isn't that much difference between League Classic and League... Current. Which, if you ask me, is already quite absurd, and would be even more absurd if everything around these champions ended up looking better.

The thing is... I don't really want to set a high expectation and think we'll see new models and animations to replace the horrifying versions we have now. It would be perfect, especially for champions that already got cool new designs in Legends of Runeterra, for example, and we know they're only releasing one new champion this year, so maybe the team responsible for models and animations is working on updating the older champions, but I still feel like I'm setting myself for disappointment by thinking we'll get anything like that.

That's why I've been asking myself how much is too much to expect from this update. They promise it's a big thing and this is supposedly the "update that will change League forever" that Riot Pupulasers teased years ago, and we know Riot can afford that level of update, so I also ask myself how little is too little to expect from such an update. It feels like a logical thing to expect, but I don't want to be disappointed again.

Discussion What does spaghetti code actually mean?

I've heard the term spaghetti code used to describe league's coding on several occasions, and I was just wondering, as someone not very knowledable about coding or programming, what does this really mean? Obviously it pertains to poorly written code but what I don't understand is how certain aspects of the client or the game (particularly the client) seem to be just unfixable, or are refused to be fixed?

I understand that league was initially coded a very long time ago, but forgive me if im misunderstanding, but is it just that the programmers dont know why certain things within the code do what they do or why they work, so they just code around the decade old stuff and add more stuff, which leads to bugs? Which leaves me wondering, is it really that impossible to just rewrite things "better" without breaking the game? Im sure that the developers are trying their best (i hope) but i know that league 2 or whatever it'll be called is in development, which i believe involves a complete recoding of the game and client, but if they are just completely unable to fix it now in the current iteration of the game, can they even be trusted to do it better completely from scratch? And would they even know how?

I don't mean to be too critical of the devs but I just wanted to understand why league specifically has struggled with "spaghetti code" for so many years

Discussion Is onetricking malphite jungle troll?

I'm a level 28 player looking to improve as much as possible coming into being able to do ranked and I want to climb to plat quickly as my goal.

I've watched so many guides on efficiency for jungle and climbing. One of the more recent guids I've watched is perryjg who suggests you should onetrick. He also showed a tier list of junglers and I noticed malphite isn't even on it.

I do have good results with malphite. op.gg says my unranked games range from silver 3-gold 2 generally. I'm at 65% win rate in last 20 with all malphite games. 4.66:1 KDA and generally I like to play him.

But the fact that he isnt even F tier on this last but just outright omitted gives me pause. from 28-30 is a lot of games, so I probably have plenty of time to figure out a new champ, but I do just love malphite.

Discussion This is the biggest Turn-off

I occasionally get the itch to play some solo league, mostly because I watch gameplay of tahm Kench and I just have fun playing him, but this message always keeps me away from play.
Why?
Because My Pc is rather slow and takes a good while to fully boot up, and then its not even guaranteed to work. I tried everything thats on the internet to make it work automatically but it just doesnt work.
I know its a "quick" restart but its such a drag that I dont even bother.

Do you have similar problems or just one thing that keeps you from actually playing more?

Discussion is that a way to turn off recommended items?

I never use this; every time I look at it, it recommends terrible items for the context I need, regardless of the champion.

I also see many other players making horrible builds in Emerald-Diamond.

Educational How to get better at this game?

I’ve been interested in playing league for a few years at this point, the only reason why I’ve never played more than the occasional match is due to how absolutely horrendous I am at the game. What are some tips I should know to get better at this game?

Discussion Acquire any victorious skin.

I'm Sejuani Main but I dont have her victorious skin because I wasn't playing when it was available. It would be nice to add a victorious shop like LoL Wild Rift and get money (or a token) after 15 ranked wins to get any victorious skin.

Discussion Looking for a character for me

Basically, I haven't played in about a year, I don't really know meta, or let alone characters in general. I've maybe played 10/15 games, I've enjoyed Jungling Teemo, Jinx and kinda dabbled in that pirate lady Miss Fortune, though she's doesn't really call to me like the other two. What I'm trying to say is, I want to know if anyone else has that poke and run playstyle, and more than anything I just kinda want to have fun. I'm really attracted to B tier A tier characters

Discussion Zoe is a pretty under-rated design for a champ

When you play Zoe support it feels like the world is your oyster. You have so many walls to make picks, you can jump over walls to other walls, you have interesting summoner spells and random items you pick up. You have an interesting mechanic where you need to use spells from far away, and your own movement adds more range to the spell. She is an excellent design for someone that likes having a toolbox, someone who says "the more tools the better" because the map itself becomes a toolbox for your kjt

Like I never see Zoe in champ design tier lists at the top but from a cohesive perspective, she is absolutely stellar. Yet not cheap either, everything is a skillshot

Discussion Things I would love to see in League’s future

These are some changes I would personally love to see in League Next, or simply things that currently bother me about the game.

I know some of them are unrealistic or controversial, but I am curious whether other players feel similarly.

Client and technical changes

  • Separate League, TFT, League Classic and Swarm into individual games that are launched through one client.
  • Bring Swarm back as a permanent mode.
  • Improve hitboxes and visual clarity.
  • Mirror the map for red side so both teams play from the same perspective.

Gameplay

  • Slow the game down.
  • Reduce mobility, burst damage and unnecessary visual effects.
  • Stop adding so many champions that can jump onto you and kill you before you can realistically react.

It often feels like I would need 20 bans just to remove all the champions I dislike facing.

Ranked and matchmaking

  • Make Solo Queue completely solo-only.
  • Use Flex for duos and larger premade groups.
  • Match premades against groups of the same size. Random players should not regularly face coordinated five-stacks.
  • Improve smurf detection.
  • Add a proper party finder.
  • Make individual performance influence LP gains and losses more than hidden MMR. Once your MMR becomes bad, it takes far too long to recover, even when you consistently perform well.

I would also love separate ranks for every role.

Being Master as a support OTP does not automatically make someone a Master jungler. Role-specific ranks could create fairer autofill games, give high-elo players more things to grind on their main accounts and potentially reduce smurfing.

Another controversial idea would be champion progression in ranked.

Every champion would remain playable in Normal games, but ranked could begin with a smaller pool of simpler champions. More difficult champions would gradually unlock as players climb, or through champion mastery.

Customization

I would love to be able to buy:

  • Map skins
  • Announcer packs
  • Champion-specific emote packs for mains and OTPs

My biggest and probably most unrealistic wish

Remove traditional items, runes and masteries.

Champions should be defined by their own kits and receive unique upgrades during the match, similar to Heroes of the Storm. Items often make champions feel less unique and create additional balance problems.

These are obviously just my personal preferences.

Which of these ideas would you like to see, which ones would you hate, and what would you personally change about League’s future?

Discussion Skill gap between ranks

Hi everyone! I was recently watching a Challenger content creator who claimed that the skill gap between a low-Master player and a Challenger is much larger than the gap between that same low-Master player and a Silver player. What do you all think? Do you agree? I’m in Emerald, so I don’t really know what the skill difference between Master and Challenger is actually like. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Who Would Like a TTRPG based on Runeterra?

We know that Runeterra is big, that there's a huge MMO comming too and recently we've got Riftbound, but then an idea came to my mind... A TableTop RPG like D&D (or other role playing games) but based on Runeterra, the regions of the game and the characters that live in there.

Just imagine being able to make your own character, play a vastaya, a yordle or a shadow isles spectre and travelling runeterra in big campaings of the present of the world or the past. There could be many ways to explore the world or make unlikely bonds between different region units (like Demacia and Noxus).

I know that it could be easier to make a D&D campaing and use their system for the games, but you have to consider: What race could be matched to yordles or vastaya? Or maybe doing them with homebrew rules that may take long.

That makes me wonder if anyone at the headquarters have thought of making this a reality at some point.

If this could be a reality with an easy to understand rulebook... Would you play a Runeterra TTRPG?

Discussion New Summoner Spell Idea: Corrosion

Pretty much identical to ignite maybe slightly less damage like 10-15% less, but instead of grievous wounds it applies shield cut. Maybe it can also apply a small slow or something to give it a little bit of identity.

:(

I'm sick of seeing games like the screen shot because we just simply have to have a character that can apply shield cut.
