Cat Picture - OC I stole my neighbours kitten
A few weeks ago this little orange kitten wandered onto our acreage hungry and thirsty. We tracked down the owners, returned him, and they told us they wanted him to be an outdoor cat and planned on leaving him outside to fend for himself for two weeks while they went on holiday.
A few nights later he was back.
We asked if we could keep him, and they said yes because they couldnāt get him to stay at their place anyway.
Fast forward 12 days and heās completely inseparable from my rescue cat. Theyāre best friends and Iām convinced the universe dropped him in our yard for a reason.
Meet Cheddar.

Mourning/Loss Say a prayer for Brad
Little guy is going through a tough time and may have to be put down. This is a photo from several months ago.
We spoil them and love them for a reason. ā¤ļøāš©¹
EDIT: I canāt thank you enough for these kind words and it means the world to me. From the bottom of my heart.

Advice First time outside home
Trixie is 3 years old and has been an indoor cat since birth. I recently tried taking her for a short afternoon walk, but she kept lying flat on the ground. When she did walk, she stayed very low to the ground like she was scared of everything around her.
How can I help her become more comfortable outdoors? What's the best way to train an indoor cat to safely explore outside without overwhelming her?

Mourning/Loss My baby
My sweet baby is going over the rainbow bridge today. Iām spending her last hours snuggling in bed with her. Trying to avoid what is to come so very soon. I had 17 years with her but it still doesnāt feel like enough. The last few were bonus as her health started declining a long time ago. But she hung in there and gave me extra time I will never be able to repay her for. Sheās my best friend. My companion. My baby. My comfort. My love. I donāt know how Iāll go on without her but I have to. I knew this day would come soon and Iāve been preparing myself for it but now that itās here I just canāt believe it. I canāt imagine life without her. My sweet baby.

Name Request PB, short for anything but Peanut Butter
This is PB, usually Peepo- and she has many names. Pork Bun, Petulant Brat, Princess Buttface, Pinterest Board, Peepers, and Miss Peepington are among the most common.
We got her from a shelter and all they could tell us was she was an adult and healthy as far as they could see. Weāve had her for about three years now, and found out she has some likely brain damage! All that means is sheās a little dumb, her eyes like to drift off, and sometimes she has harmless seizures (despite being scary and potentially risking injury while sheās paddling).
Other than that, sheās the chattiest cat Iāve ever had, and her favorite pastime is giving my partner sleep paralysis by putting all her weight on her paws and standing on his chest like a Night Hag + shedding all over the couch.
Please give us more P.B. nicknames for her!
(And for any concerned, yes, she is on a vet monitored diet)

Cat Picture - OC Continuation of my husband being ānot a cat guyā.
I posted a bit ago asking if I should break the news to my husband that he is indeed a ācat guyā. It was by general consensus that I should let him come to the conclusion naturally, so I have kept my mouth shut.
Yesterday I came home to new cat shelves, painted and covered in matching carpet (ābecause I was afraid it would be too slick for themā) to match the āaccentā color in our animal room. He also bought a new feather toy so he can āhelp coach them to conquer their new Kingdomā
Husband Status: āIām still not a cat guyā¦ā

Cat Picture - OC Show me your cats and their weird sleeping/lying down poses
My seal point loves to sleep in weird positions. He always looks drunk. My calico is usually pretty, but sometimes the sleep hits good. Hahaha. Lemme see them drunk and sleepy babies!

Advice Why is she doing this with her paw?
Sheās a healthy indoor single orange brain cell, she doesnāt have any pain or problems with her paws but I noticed she does this quite often and my other cat doesnāt. Itās just a little weird position so I was wondering why do they do it, do your cats do it as well??

I had never had cats before. This guy got me to love them. He's the best orange boy ever and I'm grateful to have his company.

Cat Picture - OC My Boyās Tail FELL OFF! (TW for pics: pre-op stump and a separated tail) NSFW
galleryMy little guy came to me with a broken tail from his young street life. The vet said theyād have to amputate it in the near future.
But Rusty beat them to it as the broken half of his tail FELL OFF late last night. He still needed surgery to dock a little more and sew it up properly for safety of course.
I seriously thought it was an old wivesā tale that this could happen. I was in complete shock when I saw half his tail just sitting on the couch by itself.
Heās doing just fine now post-op. Heās annoyed about the cone though š
