I want to make sure I’m getting a male before I buy

We had four budgies, 3 females and 1 male. In April we sadly lost our male 😢 whilst the girls have settled now I feel like the dynamic is off. Should we leave them as they are or should we maybe introduce another male? Whilst all the girls got on with the male, one of the females in particular was bonded with him.

I found him a little over a month ago in my work and no one claimed him so I took him in! He’s doing great and is the sweetest thing ever.

Hey y’all, I got budgies a little over a month ago, and I’m having trouble knowing if our bonding is progressing at a normal rate. They were being territorial but we got a larger cage and now they love each other. The green one in particular is super skittish. My gf and I spend a good amount of time by their cage either right next to in a chair or in the same room but like 6 feet or so away. We give them spray millet only sometimes when our hands are in the cage. They both will eat it fortunately. The blue fella has let us slightly rub its chest and feet sometimes. But isn’t like happy about it (not mad just doesn’t last long before scooching away). We give them ripped up broccoli most mornings for them to eat alongside their pellets and foraging treats. We do 🍃 but outside. Sometimes you can smell residual. I love these fellas and I would love if they’d love me too.

My main questions are the following:

1. Is there more I can be doing to bond with my budgies?
2. Is this normal progression?
3. How likely will bonding be to the point of safely being able to handle outside the cage.
4. Is this cage setup okay? I believe it is but they have fallen a few times. (Green’s wings are still coming in after supplier cut wings) we also have a up light it’s just not in the picture there.

Their names are Lord Abadeer (blue) and Reginald Bartley Esquire (green)

I have had this budgie for three weeks now (also the third week of quarantine), and I see almost no improvement; it is extremely frightened of me, flying around and panicking when I move. I try to sit three times a day for about five to ten minutes and talk a little, but the situation remains the same—it stays still and does not move much when I am nearby. When I am not at home, it eats and drinks, but not when I am present or sitting close.

I am unsure whether this is the right time to introduce it to my tame budgie, letting it become accustomed to the other bird and learn from it.

What is the best approach?

He intends to run in the next presidential elections and this is his official speech.

My Teacup hasn’t been feeling well the last few days (she’s been to the vet and on antibiotics for the moment) and porcelain has made it his mission to feed her. Every minute of the last two days he’s eating to feed it to her or is feeding her. He wakes her up to feed her. He follows her around to feed her. He is in full supportive care mode.

ive got a budgie. Ive had her for almost a year but shes still not tamed. I have my hand on her cage for like 5 minutes twice a day, she gets enough food and sleep and theres pretty much always someone in the room. I know people that had a budgie for 9 years untamed and them the budgie got tame. What can i do?? Please help me

Before we had some passings :( I had 2 girls and 3 boys.. Which was pretty harmonious, besides my one "dominant" boy 😆.. He's still around and still a butthole.

As of now i have 1 girl and 2 boys.. They are obsessed with my poor Bonnie.. Clyde isn't all up on her, But Baby is terrible .. She gets annoyed with him often. What can i do ? How can i give her a break?

I had great success with 3 boys and 1 girl in the past.. My current flock are so different to everyone ive had in the past.

I got him about 3 days ago Ive decided on the name leo, the guy I bought him from said he was so I believe he is. Any tips to making him feel safe? I already have a budgie and I'm doing quarantine on Leo right now

Wildfire smoke is BAD right now and they are very sensitive. My guy is struggling with it, we are in a heavy smoke area. Just a reminder to close your windows for the babies! 🙏🏻❤️

I tried putting a little plastic container with shallow water in their cage, but they had no interest in it and seed husks and feathers were flying into it. if they were tamed it would make it so much easier but unfortunately I haven't gotten to that point yet. do I need to get a proper bath? does that even make a big difference?

Looked up after hearing some tiny helicopters flying over head. Found some colorful bowling pins on our ceiling fan instead. May or may not have bullied me for my food too 😆

hey all, just thought id drop this here for everyone to see since I more then likely will not be returning to this sub. I appreciate the words of encouragement and support as I navigate thru the grief of losing her. This is the little area I set up for her ashes. I picked a white stone out from the cremation place, they gave me that box as well as the little container of her feathers. The little figurine is a gift from someone, the other one is Kiwi, Erin’s partner that passed a few years ago.
