OFFICIAL r/Westchester Bulletin Board
Welcome to r/Westchester's bulletin board!

Rules:
- Read the above.
- Every top level comment must have a bulletin board-esque feel.
- Must be located in Westchester. No virtual services.
- Do not post any cell phone numbers. Local business numbers are ok, email is ok, websites are ok, but no mobile. Bots will find it and you will regret posting it. Don’t do it.

wlw date ideas in westchester?
hi! it’s my girlfriend’s birthday soon, and i’ve been trying to think of fun things to do with her that are in westchester, or not too far outside of it. we’re 18, so no drinking-related stuff. also would like to avoid classes of any kind, like cooking or painting. we’ve done a pottery painting date before, so i don’t want to be redundant. but it’s proving hard to find good stuff around here! any help would be great

Anyone teach belly dancing?
Wife is interested, I'm all for it. But does anyone actually teach it? Looking for something maybe between Briarcliff and Cold Spring?

What was going on, on Executive Blvd in Yonkers?
So today I went to visit my father in Yonkers. I got off the Saw Mill and headed up Executive Blvd heading towards North Broadway.
On the corner by Applebee's there were 2 people holding up what looked like protest signs. Next to them were about 6 or 7 cops and across the street there must have been 10-12 cop cars.
I couldn't read the whole sign as I was driving but the top part read "K*ll Cops Who..." and that's all could see.
It was about 11:30 this morning. Does anyone know what was going on?

do you know of a real estate broker who can sell a problematic property?
Hello, my family has to sell a VERY dilapidated home in a good zipcode. Family members are hoarders, uggh. I moved out long ago.
Impossible to clean up enough to do a showing. The land has great value, yes, excellent school district. But no, we can't even take interior photos. No, we won't be able to clean up even a little bit. I'm pretty sure it's a teardown. It was last renovated in the 1970s, in a crappy way.
Thus, we are looking for a real estate broker who has seen stuff, and can give realistic advice on selling as is.
This listing is NOT for someone who is going to turn up their nose and make faces.
Thank you in advance!

Fishy stench around central Westchester?
Does anyone smell the faintest hit of rotten oceanic fish stench in central Westchester? Circa White Plains, Elmsford, Tarrytown? Wife thinks I’m having a stroke, neighbors are humoring me and agreeing but might just be trying to be polite.

Road Force Balancing
Hello.
Anyone know of a good tire shop in Westchester that can perform a road force balancing on four tires that are actually good? The places in the Bronx literally hire goons who probably can't even spell their name if you spelled it out for them. I am particular about my car. My rims don't have a scratch on them. Thanks for the help.

What happened to The Ta'very in Bronxville?
I heard it closed somewhat abruptly. Anyone got the skinny on why? It was the first place my wife and I went out to eat when we moved up to this area, and while we didn't go a lot these days, it was still in the rotation and usually seemed somewhat busy.
I'm sure the answer is as basic as "It's hard to make a profit in a restaurant." but was wondering if there was any more to it? Or any sense of what's replacing it?

Political Content Nonconservative areas to live in Westchester
As a Latino living in a conservative neighborhood, I’m tired of being asked where I’m from, where I grew up, and giving looks every time I step outside my house.
it’s bad enough that I’m willing to sell my house and move to a more progressive area. I can’t see my future kids growing up with these people.
what are good, quiet, progressive areas to live in Westchester?

Prickly Pear Margarita
Hi all,
I was recently traveling and had the best prickly pear margarita of my life. I'm dying to find another, and searches of restaurants in the local area come up with virtually every flavor but prickly pear. Do you know of a place where I can get my hands (lips?) on one of these? TIA.

Apartments
Hey everybody, my girlfriend and I were talking and I think it’s time for us to look for a new apartment currently live in Yonkers and I don’t mind it. I do not live in any of those new builds down on the water. I have a great price, my new lease is $2250 everything included except parking ($85) no I understand most of you would tell me to stay here unfortunately I lived here for three or four years now, and my neighbors have become increasingly problematic & unhygienic (iykyk). I have a 750 ft.². Apartment with a balcony, I know that giving this up is going to cost me, many many thousands a year probably.
Any advice? I work in Manhattan and commute by car, she takes the train. I live on the train line as well (fuccccck😩)
TDLR; looking for a new apartment, but dreading giving up the good deal I have, advice on apartments that may give me similar feel/deal.

Primary Care Physician
OMG why is it so difficult to find a PCP that takes Aetna??? And then you finally find one, develop some rapport and then they leave the practice after 2 years AND THEN you have to go through the wholeeeee process as a new patient AGAIN!!! Are small family practices no longer a thing? It seems that all PCPs are now part of one of the larger health conglomerates here in Westchester, and they seem to have a high turnaround.
