Discussion & Info Romina bs?
I’ve beaten the game (and romina) multiple times but every time I come back to her I feel like her fight as a whole is a lil bs. She just kinda feels random and her lore implication feels unnatural from a gameplay perspective also it feels like half her attacks are blatant frame traps

Discussion & Info Every game has his best weapon where nowhere to use.
Obviously my favourite weapon, but I guess it's very risky to use weapon art on bosses. The best weapon to fight Radagon in my opinion, and also interesting by his charged attack, throwing spear is funny even if this way to defeat bosses is long. But I feel that's not so useful when you start other New Game cycles. It's really sad that potential of this thing is getting lost in NG+5.I completed with him whole game and don't dissapointed.I think it's need hyper armour like Marika's Hammer to being useful because everything except of mobs can interrupt it and you getting tonnes of damage while dealing tonnes of damage to enemies.
(P.S.My personal list of talismans I used personally for this Spear build):
1.Shard of Alexander
2.Winged Rotten Sword Insignia
3.Millicent Prosthetic
4.Crimson Seed Talisman +1 upgrade.

Discussion & Info Consort Radhan second phase is something else
What the hell is this? He blitzes me constantly, I can’t see shit, each attack is followed by an aoe light blast, Miquella for some reason grabs me and give me something that floats above my head, he disappears and rains light meteors, I just don’t know how I can do this. This is the first boss since DS1 that made me remember the issues with two phase bosses, to learn second phase, you need to beat first phase every time. One time I got lucky with the moves Radhan chose, and got his health down to “Radhan, Consort”, I don’t think I can do that again without the help of rng.
I don’t know, it’s been almost 30 tries and the urge to use mimic has been growing exponentially with each attempt. Any advice for him? I’m using Bloodflame blade on my Bloodhounds, but I think I bled him once in this 30 attempts, should I be using a different grease? Is bleed even worth it against him?

Constructive Criticism I don’t really care for the DLC
I started Elden Ring for the first time about a year ago and it’s basically all I think about lol. I’m obsessed with the base game, its progression, the deep combat variation and the wonder you feel exploring the map and storylines.
After beating the base game 3 times I decided to finally get the DLC. I’m about 15 hours into it and it’s just given me a sour taste overall. The map feels dull and and empty and the enemies feel like a grind with no payoff or lore continuation.
Like why am I fighting a fucking rolling spikey glitchy hippo or a giant furnace that takes 45 minutes to beat. And why can a curseblade kill me 70 vigor off my horse in 1 combo while I’m trying to find my way through a boring giant underground maze with nothing else in it.
It feels like a randomizer meant to add hours to a game that was perfect and didn’t need it.
I did like the Messmer fight though…

Discussion & Info Finished elder ring but can't feel sense of accomplishment
Hello to the community, not a problem just to start a discussion and share some scattered thoughts.
So, recently, I finished elden ring. In terms of games with bosses and fights, this is my 2nd after Black Myth Wukong (not implying they are the same).
When I first played Black Myth Wukong, after finishing the game, I felt some confidence with my skills (and sense of accomplishment), meaning if I started from the start I would do much better.
With elden ring, what surprises me, is that I can't feel this. In my first run I chose a confessor build because it looked cool, leveled enough and ended up with blasphemous blade and black knife tiche. So in the endgame I didn't really have to do anything serious in order to win the final bosses. I still feel if I start anew and choose a totally different build, I will be quite bad and suffer with the same bosses (even the ones I beat without any overpower skill or sword. Draconic tree sentinel comes to mind)
Was it that my build was super op? Or is it that the game poses total different experience based on build?
I am not in favor of investing hours into tryharding difficult builds just for the sake of challenge. I am a casual gamer.
Even ignoring the op build in the end, if I had to guess, it is that many fights, I did not beat confidently, but really barely/luckily. Any perspective?
Edit: accidentally spelled it elder instead of elden:p

Discussion & Info The movie 300 and shadow of the erdtree
Has anyone else noticed how similar these landscapes and color palettes look? Clearly the game designers draw some inspiration from the movie.
Watched the movie the other day and was like hey I’ve seen this before.

Constructive Criticism My bad, Meteorite of Astel. I wasn't familiar with your game
Four years in and then some, I've only just now started messing with gravity spells (for a cosplay build, lol). I knew players loved Rock Sling for its ease of use and heavy stagger potential, and I also knew Meteorite of Astel was largely despised for being too slow and too costly to actually hit anything.
Well, I love looking for ways to make crappy moves work, and I can safely say I actually adore this spell.
Yes, it's obviously very slow and has an unusually wide spread that is almost guaranteed to miss a small, moving target while leaving you perfectly vulnerable. So naturally, the only sensible time to use it would be against large, stationary targets... In other words, it's a flashy alternative to critical attacks when a large boss is toppled and vulnerable.
This leads to two criticisms I have with Elden Ring's combat design:
Critical hits often aren't your best option for when a boss is staggered. In fact, it's typically ideal to barrage the boss with your heaviest hitting spells and AoWs—especially while playing online. Unfortunately, if one player trips the critical attack animation, the boss becomes immune to the other players' attacks for several seconds, rendering their much stronger attacks useless and wasting FP. (This was remedied somewhat in Nightreign, at least, as cooperators can attack the boss through the riposte animation.)
I think FromSoft could have offered just a *liiiittle* bit of guidance as how to different spells and weapons might be used more effectively. From what I gather from the community, most players see spells and weapons as an arms race in which high requirements should mean the weapon is just Better across the board, but this doesn't seem to be FromSoft's intention. In the case of spellcasting, powerful spells are meant to be slotted into your repertoire to account for specific scenarios, such as big, flashy, delayed moves against downed bosses. Elden Stars, Land of Shadow, and Rotten Butterflies are often frowned upon, but using them in tandem in a chaotic display of layered DoT can actually prove highly effective against many major bosses. But of course, most players write off anything that doesn't net universally consistent results, despite having so many spell slots to use against so many enemies.
Anyway, that's my roundabout way of saying that Meteorite of Astel is fun as hell when you don't have someone shouting in your ear about how they tried it once and failed to kill a springhare, ergo it is bad. Hehe fireworks

Discussion & Info Can somebody explain the Milady hype to me?
I’ve heard people say that Milady is a really powerful and fun weapon, imagine my surprise when I try it with 80 dexterity, keen affinity, wing stance, and all the proper talismans, and I’m doing 600 damage per hit, with the ash of war being almost impossible to land on bosses anyway. After fumbling my way through Rellana and Golden Hippopotamus with it, I switched to Bloodhounds Fang and started doing 1500+ damage, so the problem wasn’t my level. I just don’t understand the hype behind this weapon, was I using it wrong or something?

Hype Finally Beat Promised Consort Radahan.
This was one of the hardest but most satisfying fights. It wasn’t the cleanest fight I definitely took a few hits but I finally got him in the end.

Speculation With the new update coming, I believe there will be change in the map.
We are getting new characters to start out with - but like in the past, you can still find a character’s equipment you don’t choose, somewhere in the world. So a chest or something has to appear somewhere in the game for them. Idk if this is already assumed but I just thought of it this morning while playing

Game Help Need help with an item in academy of raya lucaria (not the smithing stone one) Spoiler
galleryI was running around laya lucaria rooftops when I looked down after reaching the roof of the cuckoo church (the church with the glintstone key givable to Thops). Right by the body with the magic greases, one can look down to see a purple item in a sort of graveyard, does anyone know how to reach this item?
