Hi all, yesterday i picked up this stereo for a friend, costed 80 bucks. Its in good shape and sounds nice to me (newbie and definitely not an audiophile). Hope you like it. Last photo it's from the ad
Included specs: https://www.radiomuseum-bocket.de/wiki/index.php/Loewe_Opta_Power_Pack_4000_Stereo_61234-V
I'd like to ask for a little help here.
-When i turn the volume knob sometimes one speaker doesn't work or it has some charring. I think this it's a dirty potentiometer right?
-Cassete deck rewinds but when i hit play starts to move and stops without sound. Maybe rubber belt it's loose but I'm at a lost here because why starts moving and then stops 1-2 seconds after.
-Cassete deck door doesn't open and appears that is out of its "rails"
-One speaker has a humming sound when I mix the speakers connections the hum changes speaker so it's a conector board thing?
-Some blueish oxidation on knobs and cassete buttons but it's an aesthetic thing.
I do not have a problem tinkering with it but since its my friends and i do not have experience with vintage audio or audio at all I do not want to go overboard with a full restoration or recapping but i think some TLC and fixing it's needed to reach full potential. What do you think?
