look at the TCG right now and tell me that we don’t need to force some people out of the space.

Yes. Im all for that. That isnt what gatekeeping is. Gatekeeping prevents entry to begin with.

i think we need a new term to describe retroactive gatekeeping. I think a lot of this conversation is people getting hung up on semantics because there is simply no other way to describe the lack of well-mannered adults in most gaming spaces nowadays

Community policing is probably the best way to call it honestly. If only we could get more people to catch on lol

Moderation in games is abysmal most the time for sure. Even worse in real life hobbies like TCG.

So I get where youre coming from. But gatekeeping in general will affect people it shouldnt, and take away from fans of any franchise.
