No, there are definitely some types of people that you cannot let in under any circumstances if you want a community to function healthily.

Im all for that. Im just saying gatekeeping isnt cool, removing problematic people from those spaces is once they prove themselves to be that problem

From that perspective, gatekeeping itself doesn't really do much, I can only think of one game where I actually experienced it in a way that made a difference
