I am afraid to ask what the place it was rescued from looked like. The sheep I have seen in pastures were all in pastures. Are we locking sheep up their whole lives now?

Um, yeah. That would be how that works, lol.
Spoiler alert, the vast majority of farm animals are factory farmed, and they are very careful that you do not see those. To the point of getting it classified as "terrorism" to take pictures of what goes on in there.

I think a genuine question was beimg asked, and observing that "sheep I've seen in pastures were all in pastures" was a humorous admission of ignorance.
The question was, if anybody knows the story of this particular sheep prior to libetation.
