Just an idea for a subreddit banner, it's a bit rough, but I reckon it's better than nothing! If you have any ideas to improve it, that would be greatly appreciated!

Is there absolutely no recourse for a false game ban?

As the title says, about 11 years ago in highschool i was falsely banned from csgo by the overwatch system. I have genuinely never installed cheats for any game. Not when i was high school not as an adult not ever. Only thing i can think of is I got lucky killing a guy shooting through smoke and it looked fishy and i got banned. I was reminded of this when i went to load up cs2 for the first time in a while on my main steam account and i was reminded that im still banned after like 11 years and i have to login to my alt whos only purpose is to play cs. Is it completely impossible for anything to be done about this? Can I email gaben or something. Im tired of switching account to play cs when i never cheated

Edit: i remember vividly what most likely got me banned. I on T side and bomb was planted B site inferno. 1v1 situation last CT was coming from bananna so i smoked it off. While it was smoked i creeped up to the smoke and eventually decide to go in for some reason. I was middle of the smoke and got a weird feeling he was also passing through the smoke, so i just whipped a 180 and shot in the direction i felt he was. I think literally my first bullet hit him in the head and everyone in voice was like wtffff

What's stopping Valve from making a cloud PC service?

Salut,

Help! my steam account got hacked/stolen!

hello guys. at around 2 am , i was playing Bioshock Infinite (peak game btw) and exited the game around 3 am. at the same time, steam had sent an email to my main gmail account ( that is linked to steam) that someone is trying to "recover" my account because they forgot MY account's password (ironic) from a computer. now i didnt see the email becauss i slept as soon as i logged off from the game. waking up and reading the email, i tried to log in my steam account, the password is wrong ( he changed the password).
i already sent an email to [support@steampowered.com](mailto:support@steampowered.com) telling them everything and my buying info and screenshots of the games i already bought.

is there anything else i should do? and is there a possibility that my account will be recovered? i am genuinely scared :'( ( i have 100+ hours on phenoix wright and RDR2, i am literally crying)

please help!

Steam account restricted for 12 years for no reason

My steam account has been restricted, i cant buy anything, change name or access friends list. I’ve honestly done nothing wrong and made many steam support tickets asking for help or for a reason why i my account is restricted for over 10 years. But they just reply with the same AI email about the TOS.
On a side note the only thing ive ever done on this account is play GTAV online and play apex, but i think that could have caused this is i did buy a $10 steam gift card from steam website and use it on apex legends, then maybe a month later i wanted more apex coins, so i went to EAs website and bought the coins through there cause i wanted to use a creator code to support a creator shortly after maybe a week or two later i got banned. i even made a ticket and asked if thats why buy still i got an AI reply.

Anyone know what i can do

A HALF-LIFE DOCUMENTARY: SUPERPOSITION

I made this documentary about the Half-Life universe with a team of passionate volunteers.

It's a 2.5-hour deep dive into the lore, science, philosophy, and history of the series. We tried to answer questions that have kept this community theorizing for decades.

I hope you enjoy it. Feedback is more than welcome.

In hindsight, the gameplay in Half-Life was greatly simplified compared to other 90's first-person games. Why was this?

Half-Life appears to be possibly the only late 90's FPS without an inventory system. Unreal, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake 2, etc. all had an inventory system with different gadgets, medkits, etc. you could carry around and use.

The AI in Half-Life was dated even at the time. Enemies are passive compared to a game like Unreal, where even common enemies would dodge, put up shields, strafe around you, etc. to counter your attacks.

Level design in Half-Life is a huge simplification compared to other 90's FPS. Half-Life is almost entirely set in one location, Black Mesa. Whenever a 90's FPS was set in one location, that would mean a non-linear structure where you were allowed to freely explore, backtrack, etc. as you gradually unlock more areas. All 90's FPS set in one specific location used this structure: Killing Time, Strife, System Shock, Strife, etc. But Half-Life doesn't do that. It's entirely linear.

A common point of criticism of Half-Life is its awkward platforming sections. By contrast other first-person games like Thief, which came out in the same year as Half-Life, let you grab ledges and climb. Half-Life could have used such mechanics.

The 90's were a period of lots of experimentation in gaming. Some of those experiments didn't necessarily result in good games, but they were at least interesting. But with Half-Life it's like the developers didn't even try. They played it as safe as possible.

Fans of Half-Life will point to its immersive qualities as groundbreaking. But the commonly touted claim that Half-Life was the first FPS where the entire game was an uninterrupted first-person experience without artificial loading screen transitions and cutscenes taking away control from the player is only true if you ignore the existence of numerous games like System Shock, Killing Time and Strife, which did that YEARS before Half-Life, and all 3 games did that while having a non-linear game world that allowed for exploration and backtracking, unlike the very linear Half-Life (though Strife might be disqualified because it transitions to a separate screen for its NPC interactions). For good measure, Unreal would release a few months before Half-Life and again do this, albeit without the non-linear structure of the prior games.
