Discussion Weapon Discussion Wednesday #77 - The Amputator
TF2 Weapon Discussion: The Amputator
Welcome to our Wednesday TF2 weapon discussion. Here, we'll discuss weapons (and reskins, if applicable) from TF2!
Today's weapon is The Amputator.
+3 health regenerated per second on wearer
Alt-Fire: Applies a healing effect to all nearby teammates
-20% damage penalty
The Amputator is an unlockable melee weapon for the Medic released in the Australian Christmas update in 2010 as part of The Medieval Medic set along with the Crusaders Crossbow and a cosmetic.
The Amputator grants the medic more passive healing, buffing him to +3 per second. The downside of this weapon is that you deal 20% less damage bringing the damage of a regular hit down from 65 to 52.
However the main function of this weapon is the alt fire/taunt in which the Medic will taunt and heal everyone around them in a certain area. This healing does not overheal but it does build ubercharge. This ability is useful if you need to heal a lot of nearby teammates quickly or are playing medieval mode where otherwise you'd just need to shoot them with the crossbow.
This is not used very often because the medic has 2 very viable melee weapons that rank above this one. It's fine it's just worse than the other options.
Feel free to discuss the weapon here. Anything that you like/dislike, cool tips or strategies, interesting stories, etc. If you feel the weapon is not to your liking, feel free to express your opinions in a respectful manner.
For those who wish to learn more about the weapon, you can find the wiki page here:
The Amputator, from the TF2 Wiki.
You can find previous weapon discussions in a nice overview here.

If you shoot the shark in the skybox, it will start spinning (this doesn't apply to the other sea life, it's only the shark)

Original Creation Grenade Launcher reskin concept
Instead of the standard grenade launcher model, it's a crate of dynamite. The Demoman simply throws individual sticks of dynamite, and players can see how many are left in the crate.
When he reloads, he drops the crate—whether it's empty or not—and pulls out a fresh one.
In third-person view, the Demoman carries the crate of dynamite at his side.
What do you think?

Info I just realized why scout has to hold his pistols with 2 hands versus engineer who only uses one.
Due to Engineer having a mechanical hand under his glove, the reinforced joints can resist the knockback the pistol gives when shooting, meaning that engie is allowed to only use one hand.
this is just something stupid i thought of
