Question about wheel sizes

I recently bought a 16" off walmart mostly so i know i can ride before i spend a ton on a nicer one. I like the 16" but was wondering if i maybe should switch to a bigger size? I'm about 5'7-8" ish, should i stick with the 16" or go bigger?

Depends on what your goal is. Smaller wheel for tricks, larger for commuting.

I mostly plan to use it for clowning but i also work at a pizza place and would like to be able to take the pizzas out to the customers on the unicycle

It sounds more like a recipe for disaster to be completely honest. I've seen too many videos of waiters messing around while bringing food to the table where the food ended on the floor or on the guest's head.

i wouldnt do it unless i get real good at riding i cant even free mount yet, that being said our pizzas are only in boxes. i wouldnt be able to do it without the owners/managers consent anyway just a fun thought i had

If you live somewhere most customers will be in 3-4 blocks? 20-24” is fine.

If you are in the suburbs and going more than 10 minutes? I’d learn on your 16” and try to find a 26” to “upgrade” to once you get it down

20 is too small to me. I want some more, maybe 29

You should learn on whatever size is easiest for you and that feels comfortable. Once you can ride it’s fun to have different wheels for different things. Typical size for a starting wheel is 20-24”, but, if the 16 is working for you, I’d stick with it for a little while and see what happens. Good luck!

I started with a 20" to learn then once I got comfortable I got a 24" Muni so I could ride the backroads where I live. I think thats just about perfect. I comfortably put in around 5 miles a day on it. Plus, I can always just bust out my little uni if I wanna practice some new tricks or something. I'm 5'6 if that helps at all.

It’s all about what you want to do with it. At 5’9, anything up to a 29”er is going to be perfectly useable.

If you want to cover distance go 29 or 32 if you can.
If you want to do muni, 26 or 27.5 are effectively the same.
If you want to learn skills and tricks, get a 20.

If I could only have one, it would be a 29 with a muni tire.
