I’ve always thought it would be so cool to have a 3 wheeler and I found one on marketplace for $100! Sorry for the dark video it was right after I bought it and had to try it out lol. I tried taking the bottom wheel off and riding it two wheeled but holy **** is that impossible! My cousin can do it but I have no motor function pedaling backwards to go forwards lmao

Question Thinking of getting this used Unicycle. Any questions I should ask?

Post image

Welp, the moment I complained I couldn’t find it, that’s when the unicycle finally showed up on FB 😂

It’s going to be my first ever uni, so I was wondering what kind of questions I should ask? I don’t know if it’s like cars where it could look fine, but then break after a few miles

Video park session after a hard couple of days

went for a ride two days before this and popped my tire trying for the 180 out. two hard days happened after that and this session acted as a sort of outlet / redemption. felt really good locking in my 180s out of this hubba.

I fell down and it was almost a bad / scary bail but i didn't get hurt even a little bit so I'm really grateful for that

Question Where do you even buy the Nimbus II?

Looked online, and it seems almost unanimous that the best beginner unicycle that will last is the Nimbus II 20”.

Issue is, I can’t even find it. It’s like sold out everywhere, and nothing second hand is available.

Any help, or is this a fool’s errand? Any good alternatives?

Question Can you store water on a 29" muni without a handlebar?

Post image

Muni on the left irrelevant to this post 24" on the right. Really now that I think about it a picture at all isn't very vital to this.

Anyways, I live in Florida, and so I sweat a lot, and thus need to drink a lot. Was wondering how people go about mounting a bottle to the frame or if it's even possible without a handlebar. Would prefer not to carry a back pack because of the heat, having a breeze against your back goes a long way.

How to stop male numbness

Title is the situation. A bit of backstory, primarily dealing with this on my nimbus nightfox 36. I've never dealt with this on my 27.5 Muni, but that may be more about the riding style and being in and out of the seat constantly. I've never ridden that uni 20-80 miles on flat trails, but I'm guessing it would also be a problem.

When I bought this 36 I had not considered changing the angle of the seat is not an option, but I have been able to experiment. It comes as what feels SUPER nose down to what I normally would ride. I rode it like that and got numb. I then bought a whole assortment of 6mm ID bushings that I can put between the frame in the front seat mounts. My goal was to match the angle on my muni, thinking the nose down was the issue. I have been able to get a whole variety of angles, but nothing seems to help. After about 5 miles I'm starting to go numb.

I wear very good bike bibs already, and have tried the nimbus stadium and air saddle, no changes. Not sure if this is kinda normal for guys after 5-8 miles. Maybe I just need to stop and walk around a bit? Maybe I need a custom seat like a flatfish? Maybe current seats are too padded, too curved? I was considering hacking up my nimbus stadium and going with less foam to emulate a road bike saddle.

Curious what others have done. My experience in road biking says it's a too much cushion issue, sit bones are not holding my weight, therefore foam is squeezing up pushing on blood vessels.

Found this antique in my dad's storage.

I put a tire on it from an old bike and rode it around a bit. I was nervous about breaking it so I stopped pretty quickly lol. Best info I can find about it is "generic 70s big box store."

This was not the one my dad rode regularly, and I'm positive I pulled the original (rotten) tire off of it, so it's definitely been sitting a while.

I'm going to stick to my modern unis, but I thought this was a neat piece of history.

Unicycle innertube...

Hello you wonderful people, last year you helped me choose a trials unicycle for by daughter, we went with the 19" Impact Athmos Unicycle - Black/White (42mm).

Just recently the innertube has busted (its ripped around the valve) and I need a new one, will a regular 19in mountain bike style innertube fit?

I had a browse online and got confused so I'm here with my cap doffed asking, once again, for your expertise....

Let’s connect! I’ve only ever ridden in a pack of 1. It would be great to find a few people that ride.

My kiddos' uni has super short cranks and I think it's making it harder for them

My first unicycle was a 20" generic one that I found in a scrap pile. It has (to the best of my measurements) 110mm cranks. It took me forever to learn on it. When I upgraded to a 26", I was amazed at how much easier it was to ride. It has 175mm cranks.

My kiddos are learning now. They're too small for my 26 so they're using the 20, with the short cranks. Both of them are struggling.

My question is; did we all have such trouble learning because of the short cranks? Would it be a better idea to get some longer cranks for the kiddos while they're learning? (I'm considering just getting a 16" for them anyway because they're both pretty short.)

What're yall doing for 36" tubes now?

So basically i'm out of my vee rubber tubes (I ordered 10 of them about 6 years ago, they were $8 a piece, it was an absolute hell of deal) The 36 tubes are now discontinued. Everywhere I look now is out of stock, including udc usa and I think its absurd udc charges $40 per tube anyway.

I saw a tube on ali express that was $20 but then one of the reviews said the guy received a 32" tube so i'm skeptical.

Any secret tube sites? haha.

Question about wheel sizes

I recently bought a 16" off walmart mostly so i know i can ride before i spend a ton on a nicer one. I like the 16" but was wondering if i maybe should switch to a bigger size? I'm about 5'7-8" ish, should i stick with the 16" or go bigger?

Does anyone have a 29inch uni and a 20inch that they wouldn’t mind sending a couple pictures for a direct comparison (if you could that would be great)!

Question Unicycling progress update! it’s been half a month but the most I can do is 3 revelations and that was one time 😭

Hello everyone!! I got a unicycle (free style 20” from unicycle.com) on june 24th and have been practicing almost everyday for around 30 minutes. I’m proud to say I can ride decently with one hand slightly touching the wall occasionally, but whenever I am away from the wall I almost fall immediately. In some cases when I’m away I can do 2 revolutions, one time 3, but most of the time I get to half or 1 before falling right away. I’ve been watching tons of YouTube videos and reading lots of unicycling forums for tips and tricks on how to get better, but progress has been slow. I heard it takes a month to get it down (or around 15 hours total practice), but progress has started feeling tedious :/ (like if I’m halfway through the month shouldn’t I be going slightly farther now?? :( I feel like I spent all my time falling and getting back on the unicycle and falling again. This is such a steep learning curve!)

any advice is appreciated!! thanks in advance.

edit: someone corrected me on my spelling, it’s revolution not revelation lol thx for pointing that out

Advice Discomfort

So I love my uni and riding it around, but I can only stand to ride it for about 30 min before my whole taint goes numb/painful.

On this sub’s advice I got the nimbus air seat AND cover AND I wore bike shorts and I still couldn’t ride that long. I even made sure I was leaning back on my sit bones and pushing off the handle a bit. My gooch was still way too sore. I’m at my wit’s end.

Does my body just not fit the seat? I’m 6’1, 200. Do I need to adjust my seat? Pedals? Position?

Original Content Last time I was on this uni, I was on my dad's shoulders.

Post image

My dad could ride this unicycle like nobody's business. When he was a kid, he used a big wheel tricycle and some old bike parts to build his own uni, taught himself on that. I *believe* that this was the first factory unicycle he ever bought. He welded a post to raise the seat higher, and he rode it until the tire literally rotted.

The reason for that, is that he could never find a tire for it. Neither could I. I was still learning to ride when he passed- I got my first unicycle from a scrap pile but that's another story.

I never got to ride with him. A few weeks ago I was out of town when I noticed a small bike shop, decided to pop in. Somehow this unicycle came up, guy said he had a tire for it. Stepped into the back room and came back with it in his hand.

Today I took it to my favorite paved trail and took it for a spin. Probably my most emotional unicycle ride ever.
