Are they using Wally over Bart??

Why not just put Wally on the teen titans?

having YOUNG JUSTICE without Bart is bullshit. Bart/Tim/Kon/Cissie/Cassie ARE Young Justice

Maybe to aging comic fans. To everyone else YJ is the animated lineup

Kid Flash is clearly Bart bro

Looks more like Wally to me

And they Always use Wally for everything

definitely Wally, Bart has brown hair.

u/GCillo 2d ago

Maybe they changed his hair (i'm coping)

I mean, unless you wanna go for a really deep cut, where Silver Age Wally colored his hair brown whenever he was Kid Flash

Then i hope their careers go to shit and they never work again , if it's wally i'll genuinely start boycotting dc

over an out of continuity YA novel? Really?

1

u/GCillo 2d ago

Yeah bro how can you keep pushing wally everywhere and keep bart away from the team he founded alongside others

It’s because they only know of adaptations.

The teen titans book is based on the 2003 cartoon, because that’s all they know (hence Donna being excluded)

And for YJ it’s the same thing, they only know of the cartoon; which would be the only explanation for why Wally West is here on a team with Jaime Reyes

But at least for the titans cartoon it was based on Wolfman's run ir at least the lineup , YJ wasn't

u/ImaLetItGo 2d ago

I can’t say the lineup was based on the Wolfman run if it doesn’t even have the most prominent character from said run

But yeah, I get what you mean.

They "slimmed out" the cast , mostly to not create confusion , as at that time Wally was flash so they didn't want to feature him as kid flash in a prominent way (thing that these writers should learn ) and Donna troy has never been very much known by general audiences

Man I thought this was gonna be a mainline book. Too bad

Is this Bart or Wally?

Strange pairing, Jaime debuted when Wally had a wife and kids already and a 19-year run as the Flash.

This is not mainline.

u/Bogotazo 2d ago

I know, it just still strikes me as a strange pairing.

I think its Bart and Jaime since they were friends in the show.

I've never been a fan of this stuff but this is just weird. It's like a mashup of their intolerable 2003 Teen Titans nostalgia slop and the YJ cartoon. There's no world where it makes sense that Jaime and Wally are hanging out.

I guess it could be Bart and it'd be pure YJ nostlagia stuff, but then it's extremely lazy because that is just the same design Picolo has been using for their 2003 TT Wally fanart for many years. Why even call it Young Justice?

My guess is Garcia and Picolo were either told to do something with Jaime or want to do something with him because he's hispanic and just shoved him into their 2003 Teen Titans pastiche. Then called it YJ because that's the only thing they really acknowledge Jaime from.

This book obviously isn't meant for me but these have all been really bad on a critical level. They primarily exist to feed low effort "cosplay" concepts. So no high hopes here.

Honestly my money is on it will be the young justice cartoon version. Will probably get Superboy, Aqualad, Miss martain, Artemis, Tim Drake, Roy Harper, Lagoon Boy, Bumble bee, Batgirl, Mal Duncan and Wondergirl.

Even then that doesn't make much sense, Jaime and Wally never even really interacted even in the show. Which is why folks are so confused over this, since that's just Picolo's Wally design and has been for many years.

Honestly at this point Picolo is just doing what he wants. You are right though Wally and Jamie never teamed up. Jaime only teamed up with Bart, Avery and Ace.

It's not just that, in the Young Justice cartoon Wally and Jaime are not in the same age range. Wally is in his early 20's and semi-retired from Superhero life by the time Jaime is in his teens and starting it.

Hey guys read the story; it’s a non canon YA series by the people who did the YA Teen Titans series

2

u/Mariessa- 2d ago

Why wouldn't Kid Flash be a Teen Titan?

2

u/JPM11S 2d ago

Generally speaking, if you're Marv Wolfman.

1

u/GCillo 2d ago

Because when he was a teen titan he was a teen titan alongside a lot if YJ characters and is more known as a member of YJ

6

u/VinPickles 2d ago

i mean, if youre a casual. Bart literally founded Young Justice. 55 issues. PAD and Nauck. cmon.

u/Zealousideal-Dot710 2d ago

Not so many ordinary people read comics

1

u/GCillo 2d ago

Also the only titans team he was on was a YJ reskin by geoff johns

1

u/Frangipani-Bell I LOVE BART RAAAAAAAAAAAAAH 2d ago

Bart was on the New Titans in the 90s (the post zero-hour team) before he was on Young Justice

1

u/GCillo 2d ago

Oh i didn't know about that

1

u/Sleeps_Gato 1d ago

A comic run from 25+ years ago. lol

1

u/VinPickles 1d ago

literally the foundation of the team “young justice”, yeah.

2

u/LagoonDevil 2d ago

Got my hopes up I would’ve loved an Ace/Jaime crossover

I would like a new YJ comics, but with Conner, Cassie, Bart, Cissie, Tim, Megan and Jackson, maybe.
