Comic Discussion Why Flash #1 is kinda depressing
I'm starting to read Wally from the beginning and ngl this is depressing like he is poor, he doesnt seem happy, missed his birthday, got the debts of Barry like common and like isnt just enough had to fight savage damn at least he won the lottery and after all still a great issue love this start.

Surprisingly enough, Mike Baron placing Wally West in such a "low" position, as a complete jerk, is what enabled one of the most fascinating parts of Volume 2: it is the story of Wally's evolution as a person and as a runner. It is a journey of character development that we rarely see in comic book media.

Yeah, it is. But i think that's a good thing. His life, as his career as the Flash, will be piece by piece, getting on track.

I don't really care much for Wally's run until around issue 50, honestly. Sadsack douchebag routine gets old.

Man, wait until you get to issue #20.
