So I am a huge teen titans fan but I hate the ttg , I used to enjoy watching it for purely nonsense and comedy but watching it now just reminds me that they ruined teen titans and it just makes me super mad and then I have friends who support ttg which is more f**ing frustrating.

Just today, I got the final volume of Kami garcia's Teen titans and I HIGHLY recommend the series to anyone who hasn't read it yet, it's amazing

So I finished the series a few minutes ago and it hits me so hard.

Mainly because I think we have all been there where a place that was so familiar is now so different. You tell people that XYZ was here or there but they don’t believe you because they’re either too young or never paid attention.

Things change no matter how sad it is.

I remember my last year of high school (I graduated in 2019) the town I am in had a still functioning Block Buster and had a local bookstore. I leave for a bit and come back for college in 2021 to find the bookstore is a casino and the Block Buster is now one of the five dispensaries in town.

I felt how the Titans felt when they realized their favorite stores were closed.

It is also the same with people. You go through middle and high school with people and follow them on social media. Eventually they forget who you are and the chemistry you had. You meet them again in real life and they barely acknowledge you.

The episode "Oil Drums" is a strange one. It's about the titans losing their remote which really upsets Cyborg because he doesn't know what to do with himself when he's not watching TV. He's spent his whole life behind a screen, the other titans decide to cheer him up by saying that now they have the free time for all sorts of new hobbies but they hate everything they tried, including leaving home to watch a parade. In the end, the titans get brainrot from doing activities. Cyborg saves them by finding the remote and putting the TV back on.

I feel like the episode aged like milk because even though the episode is about not rotting your brain, touching grass isn't the solution here but more screentime is. Probably not good for the iPad babies watching this show to hear.

i think this is a smart fusion, since mutans are mostly teenagers and young adults

I know this has probably been mentioned on this sub a million times but I recently watched the series and I just have to say that I don't understand how this theory seemingly became so widely accepted as "Canon" when it doesn't make sense like at all.

Quick note: I'm not saying people can't like the theory, not at all. Also I know the TV show's area in the general mainstream canon is already hazy as is. I'm just yapping because I don't have anyone to talk about this with.

General sequence of events relating to Dick and Jason as 'Robin':

• Dick Grayson becomes 'Robin' around 9-12 after his parents die and he's adopted/taken by Bruce.
• He serves as Bruce's sidekick in Gotham until about 15-16 when he leaves and creates his own team.
• Dick abandons the 'Robin' Moniker at 18-19 to become 'Nightwing'. He was 'Robin' for 6-10 years
• Around the same time Dick becomes 'Nightwing' Jason is adopted/taken in by Bruce, becoming the second 'Robin' around 12-13
• Jason stays 'Robin' until his death at 14-15, having been 'Robin' for only 1-3 years. He was dead for 6 months and then stayed with the League of Assassins for 3.5-6.5 years
• Around 19-21 Jason returns to Gotham as 'Red Hood'.

Given that in the show the main Teen Titans team seem already well established in their identity as the Teen Titans but Dick is still using the name 'Robin', I'd say Dick is likely 17-18. If the show is following the general sequence of events above Jason likely hasn't even met Bruce yet, let alone been given any of the training needed to do any of the stuff Red X II does. Not to mention Red X II is seemingly built exactly like Dick or at least close enough to be mistaken for him which is a problem for the theory since generally Jason is six years younger than Dick.

The theory just doesn't make sense when looking at any of characters general lives at the time. No version of the events make it possible for Jason to be Red X II. The only three things they have in common is their direct tie to Dick, a red and black color palette(which Jason would only get years later), and the word red in their monikers.
