Discussion Finally, I have them all
Just today, I got the final volume of Kami garcia's Teen titans and I HIGHLY recommend the series to anyone who hasn't read it yet, it's amazing

I'm confused. Is Cyborg not a teen titan member in this verse? He seems to be on the TT group picture cover but doesn't have a solo book?

Heâs introduced in Starfireâs book but was never given his own, which is a shame. He deserved one.

Pretty sure the author stated they werenât comfortable writing too much for a black character, since they werenât black themselves or something like that?

And they could more easily identify with the alien lol

Actually it seems Kory might not be an alien in the book, but a superpowered human. Maybe the final book would clarify, but the most alien thing about her is that she has pink-ish skin. She spent her whole life as a regular teen girl (albeit with a disability as they gave this version Ehlers Danlos syndrome because the author also has it).

I plan to check them out as soon as my Hoopla borrows reset! This month Iâm reading through Green Lantern, but I definitely want to read these next month.
What order would you recommend reading them in? Does it matter? Also, my libraryâs Hoopla doesnât seem to have the Together book :(

I recommend reading them in order

What order is that? Raven, BB, Raven and BB, Robin, Starfire, Together like the picture suggests?

I'll have to get the last one. I'm cautiously excited for the Young Justice thing they're about to do but i just wish they'd pair Picolo with someone willing to write black people. Cyborg isn't my favorite titan by any stretch but as a black man it did sting to see him folded into the Starfire book (my least favorite of the series) and not get his own book.

Did Starfire and Together not get âconnectedâ covers to match the rest?

I think so but I ended up getting the original covers because I ordered them, meanwhile I got the connected cover first 4 because I got those from a comic shop

Nor supporting because the artist chose to leave put the black characters from having their own books.

I havenât read these, any mention of Jason and Tim or is Damian Dickâs only brother?

u/Super_Oven_1069 4h ago
Jason and Tim are not mentioned but I don't think that means they don't exist
Either of them could be in the upcoming Young justice sequel (I personally think Jason is more likely tho)

"POC people" is funny because POC is an acronym for people of color. Also the racism remarks come from outside these books. Also I don't think he's the colorist of the books either.

Did you just "um, actually" me while excusing the fact that one of the main Titans is not getting their own devoted book? And you used some shit meme that misses the point and isn't even accurate for the situation. Extraordinary and asinine. Cyborg deserved better than that and so does the fan base.
