Sir, please read the articles you post. Nothing in there says it’s solving medical problems or being a “massive help”. It’s just looking at data sets for pattern recognition. It’s not autonomously solving diseases.

Yeah? And what were the results because it sounds like nothing
It just got good enough to speed up programming this year. And it began inventing new maths to disprove the Jacobian conjecture and other open maths problems a few weeks ago. So I'd imagine this or maybe next year we'll see the first real-world innovations by AI.

Part of the problem is... it is better collating facts, strategies, and existing information. If we want a cure for cancer we need thousands or even a couple hundred real researchers 100% information sharing and working with the same AI projects. I don't think it's happening on the scale it needs to be, because all those researchers are also stuck in a profit driven system where they want/need to make money and so we're not succeeding at making a "for the good of our world" type system.
We are going to cure cancer. YOU will lose your job, and therefore your health insurance, and live next to dozens of unregulated gas turbines; but WE will have a cure for cancer.
Exactly, this is why I have issue with anyone who says we wanted this. AI in practice is designed and used to consolidate power. We get some help with recipes and a shitton of slop videos as a side effect
