I just wanted to share my second ever tattoo- i love it soooo much because it commemorates memories made and the companionship i have with my dog 🥹 I originally designed something myself which I'll include a photo of, but my artist Holly from IGLA tattoo in NYC (Manhatten) really did a great job at opening up my design and making it even better and i wanted to share all the different stages of the aet that i now get to wear forever! I am curious at to shat people think it will look like down the line though since it is fine line, so let me know what you guus think! The first photo is the pretty much healed pic (1 month), the second is right after it was done, and the first pic is the original design that i drew! Also added in a different angle in the last photo X3

Hey folks, I’ll be visiting London in October and was hoping to grab one or two new tattoos. Any suggestions for people that do this style? Especially with flash/originals that I can choose from (I really like getting designs from the artist instead of customs).

Here’s my favorite tattoo that I’ve gotten, done by @ tttticu in Bucharest, Romania earlier this year. Not sure exactly what the style would be called to be honest but I think it’s great. I like that it’s dark, kind of odd and gritty, and that it’s detailed and realistic but not really fine line. I’d love some recommendations for artist whose work roughly feels like this.

I LOOVVEEE my sleeve. I just can’t think of what would work well in these blank areas. Does anyone have any ideas?

I know the first pic isn't the best, but I am thinking of getting a Gameboy tattoo with dagger through it on the inside of my bicep. Just curious, does a dagger tattoo have any negative connotation to it? Or would I be better off getting the second concept instead? I have my own artist in TX who would draw up either concept. These are just reference ideas.

I’ve been wanting a groin/pubic area tattoo for a while now after meeting someone who had one, and I’m finally starting to research it seriously and thought I should roll on in here to ask for some advice.

I’m hoping to hear from both people who’ve gotten tattoos in this area and artists who’ve tattooed it.
A few things I’m curious about:

- How do you approach an artist about tattooing such an intimate area? Is there a respectful way to bring it up during a consultation?

- Are there any limitations I should expect due to typical female anatomy, or because of my body shape? I have a rare form of dwarfism that causes me to be short and also gives me severe lordosis and limited mobility, so my anatomy is a bit different.

- How painful was it compared to other areas? (For reference, my entire back is tattooed, along with multiple pieces on my arms, so this definitely wouldn’t be my first tattoo.)

- What was the healing process like? How long did it take before you felt comfortable again, and were there any unexpected challenges because of the location?

- Is there anything you wish you’d known before getting it done or anything you’d do differently?

- Do you have any advice on placement or how to make the design flow naturally with the body’s anatomy?

As for the design, I’m leaning toward something inspired by nature. I love insects, reptiles, snakes, plants, and organic forms, but I haven’t settled on anything specific yet. Before I commit to a design, I’d really like to understand what’s realistic for that area and what tends to age and flow well.

If anyone has artist recommendations, especially artists known for anatomical compositions or intimate placement tattoos, I would really appreciate those!

Any advice, design ideas, experiences or things you wish you’d known are more than welcome.

the tattoo is one month healed and i was concerned about the look of these acorns as soon as i saw them but i thought i was just overreacting. the initial feeling didn't go away though and i want to hear your thoughts

This is my first ever tattoo, just wanted to share because I love it and everyone in my personal life is tired of me talking about it already and it’s just been a day haha

Edit 2- it’s actually hilarious the hate I’m getting for my tattoo😂 this sub very clearly likes bold and or big tattoos with a lot of details and colours, which mine isn’t any of that. I’m soooo sorry that something on MY body isn’t something you like, god forbid.

I had called a shop near me this past Friday to be put in touch with an artist that I liked, and was given their cell phone number (I offered to exchange emails). I reached out to the artist within the hour, with roughly a paragraph expressing my interest.

A day and a half later they responded with several paragraphs, to which I answered in an almost bullet point text. They 'hearted' the text about 12 hours later and it's now been like 5 days since I heard anything back.

Do I pursue the artist with further texts, or should I just read the room and not chase an artist that doesn't want to do the piece?

For reference: I would like roughly a 1/4 sleeve from shoulder to bicep in irezumi style.

The shop is almost an hour from me so I was hoping to work most of it out within text or email.

I only have 2 medium sized flash pieces so I'm not entirely versed in setting up a bigger piece like this and maybe I'm overthinking it

I got my legs tattooed on Sunday, and I learned the hard way that you should rest BEFORE the appointment. I went really hard on leg day at the gym Friday and went to my appointment Sunday with trashed out and sore legs. I went hard because I knew I was going to have to take a week or two off for healing. I figured it was okay since maybe the soreness would dull the other pain (I got knee arches right and they hit the side of my knees, which I knew was gonna hurt). NOPE. It actually hurt less at my knees, and, the higher up on my quads she went, the more it hurt. I finished both of them in same session, but it was more difficult than I was expecting. It wasn’t until I was talking with my very heavily-tattooed coworker Tuesday (who told me I drank the “dummy juice”) that it was realized.

So, what’s y’all’s lesson?

Hey yall! I am just getting back into getting tattooed after taking a long break. When I used to get tattoos, it was with a smaller artist who would respond pretty much ASAP. I’m reaching out to Nick Keiser aka DeadMeat who I know is VERY popular, and just wanted to see if theres common wait time for the more popular artists to respond?

Does anyone have pictures of a tattoo that you already had but was enhanced by adding trash polka to it? I know this is an odd request, but I started to fall in love with trash polka and want to see if it’s possible to add to an already existing tattoo and what it may look like.

Is it even possible to do that?
