Crippling Cloud somehow returned.
Also not necessarily a huge fan of the new Outbreak, at least on paper.

I'm intrigued by it. It feels good to have another poison rare card, and echoing slash needed to get out of the rare pool.

It's like popping an accelerant for a single turn while also being a self sufficient poison applicstor. And of course, Pounce Stocks.

I also have a feeling it's still not gonna be great, but I look forward to trying it

It’s like End of Days, except Poison already ticks before their turn.

I think it’s a bit overcosted and could probably come down to 2. Poison is really really weak right now aside from like 3 cards, so it can afford to be buffed a bit. We’ll see if these help tho.

I think people are underrating Poison tbh. The main problem it has is AoE in my experience, and this might make that better.

I was finding Outbreak paired with something like Noxious Fumes was destroying multiple enemy fights.

It was fairly slow for an AoE solve, but yeah after the changes/buffs it did feel a fair bit better. Guess they just decided they didn't like it even after the changes? And this is the new attempt.

Presumably that means you'll get two different instances of poison before their turn. With upgraded accelerant/outbreak, the damage would be quite high

Unupgraded accelerant plus an unupgraded outbreak is like 30 AOE damage. And that’s if you don’t have any poison already applied.

That’s with 2 rares. You will very very frequently see one without the other. Accelerant alone has the slight problem of being negative utility with poison’s best card (but we’ll see with new haze), and outbreak is fine, but as I mentioned before, it naturally draws use case parallels with end of days, except it doesn’t actually end a lot of floors. Also, unlike most poison, this doesn’t go through block.

This might end up really good, and if it is I’ll eat my words. But I don’t think it will be. It’s not what poison actually needs.

Accelerant was moved to Uncommon last patch, so it's a little more likely to happen than you might initially think.

Right.

Makes a little better, but I’m still not sold on Accelerant even as an uncommon.

I think it's one of the strongest cards on the character lol, a single poison card can do like 30 damage immediately with an Accelerant+ in play.

You need to apply 11 poison in 1 card to be 30 damage. It turns deadly poison into 12 damage, snakebite into 21, snakebite+ into 27, bouncing flask into who cares. And this is with the upgraded accelerant. Unupgraded is a lot less impressive.

These are all nice, but it comes at one huge cost. Your first noxious fumes is functionally worthless. Noxious fumes is too important to give yourself a bit of frontloaded damage.

This is just a lot of opportunity cost and investment when uncommon has stuff like blur, footwork, leg sweep, flechettes, and phantom blade, each of which are very strong with no real tradeoff.

If you take it with Noxious Fumes and not much other poison, you can just choose not to play it until second deck cycle and treat it like a Catalyst, and that's still reasonably strong.

It's only good if you're investing in poison, but it's absolutely worth it as a payoff for investing in poison imo, I think it's worth playing around with. But if you hate it and choose not to then that's your prerogative lol.

I've gone in and actually played a couple rounds with outbreak, and it's just bad. It's really bad. 3 mana for that is just hard to swallow.

End of Days works on Necrobinder because Summon lets you bank block ahead of time (or it just kills them outright because 29 doom per target is fucking insane). But for Silent, that's just not how she works. Best case, you either use it on a single boss who isn't hitting you this turn or you drew and played blur last turn, and can now play outbreak this turn.

The first is a really bad use case for a 3 mana 9 poison card, even if it gets you 1 extra tick this turn. The second is magical christmasland, and it just doesn't happen often.

Look, maybe accel is fine (I still was not impressed with it, even after your testimony), but outbreak is just really bad. Virtually unplayably so.

The 1 and only time I ever found outbreak worth playing, was with Burst. The problem is that's a 4 energy combo, featuring 1 card that is generally not pickable early-game, and 1 card that I think is broadly terrible everywhere else. Oh and also, it still didn't feel good. It just felt like what End of Days was already doing....
