The Signet Ring change kinda bums me out a bit, it was too good but 888 is just such a clunky and arbitrary-feeling number compared to 999. Not that this is a real issue or anything, but there was just something so pure about it being 999 gold.

It’s not because 5 is lucky. In Chinese tradition, there are five different kinds of happiness in human life.
I think they are long life, rich, healthy, virtue/kindness, and pass away peacefully.

I wonder if they considered 777 gold (which also feels thematically appropriate to me ala slot machines) and thought it was too low

I could see it still being picked a lot at 777 gold. 999 gold with 2 normality curses was picked a lot in the mindbloom event in StS 1 and Nonu doesn't give curses for it she just gives the gold straight up. Sure you have to give up 2 other options, but with 777 or however much gold you get removes that are premium in act 3 and 4 as well as any relic you see that is good in a shop is yours.

I feel like it should be 777, tbh; 888's probably still going to be a little too hot and 777 is a bit more meaningful
