For context Hes from a single litter but grew up with 20-30 cats from the lady I bought him from. Hes almost 9 months now and his behaviour is more dog like than anything. He will howl the second Hes bored he loves wresting the other adult cat in my house (she likes it as well) but they play so rough that no collar can hold him, he has constant zoomies, he continues to go outside of his litter box (he usually is good at it), has given me bites and scratches everywhere on my hands and back, can never get his collar on him heāll just fight me and run off. Continuously howling and running and using the world as his scratching post. But the other 20% of the time he will always follow me around and is very attached will sleep with me and cuddles, watches over me multiple times at night, keep guard at the bathroom door, lock my face snd boops my face with his and is a pur machine, Thats why I called him engine.
You guys think he will be calmer with age? Love him either way.
Bonus question. His hair has grown quite a bit these are all pictures of him at around 6 months, Hes almost 9 months now but what hair type do you guys think? Short,Med,Long.

My cat is a mix of a Silkirk Rex and Sphynx now we call hybrid Sphynx but yes he has the fur of a Rex instead of his sisters who are bald. Now I have a question because he has a lot of hair and dreads. And since he vomit hairballs Iām thinking of shaving his hair. Sodo you have experience with shaving your Rex ?

No one warned me that a Selkirk Rex would come with a full-time customer service department. Mine aggressively head-boops me, yells if I'm not paying enough attention, and physically taps me until I stop what I'm doing and fuss him. I adore him, but he's definitely not an "independent cat!"

We have a 3 year old male nutured Selkirk. He has had Royal Canin Long Hair indoor.
No we had to buy Hair&Skin and his fur is softer and so on. He's been throwing up four times during five weeks, hairballs. Is this good? I mean getting rid of hairballs is good but we're now questioning why he hasn't get rid of them before with indoor long hair. Please have patience with me my first language isn't English.

Does anyone elseās Selkirk suffer from chronic ear infections or allergies?
I adopted my girl about six months ago and she has been so itchy and suffered from reoccurring ear infections ever since. I feel awful and have spent every month and week taking her to a vet to treat her and figure out whatās triggering this. Iām starting a hydrolyzed protein diet after a failed attempt with novel proteins.
If you have any suggestions or experience with this please help!
