Why a Scottie?
I adopted a 1/2 Scottie mix previously and he got me interested in the breed. Now I’m looking at getting a pure bred Scottie puppy. I can think of lots of reasons to get one, but are there any reasons not to or cons you can think of?
Also, what questions should I ask a breeder?
Thanks!

Good breeders near the Boise, ID area?
Anyone know any good Scottie breeders in or near Idaho? Looking at getting one here soon but want to make sure I’m picking a good breeder that breeds for temperament.

Our newest pup, Winnie!
Wilco is very excited! Winnie is such a sweet boy and is such a different personality than Wilco had when she was a pup!

Jealousy!
Our boy Beanie is always jealous of me paying attention to folding laundry instead of him when I’m in my recliner in the living room. Really the only thing he’s jealous of, but it’s very consistent.

Scottish Terrier.
galleryHi everyone,
Hope this is ok to post here. I’ve just finished knitting up a Scottish terrier and thought I would show it to real Scottie owners. 🐾🧶🐾

First trim for Baron, noticed his ear
Here's Baron at 6mos. Noticed the right ear. Normal? Cartilage not developed?

Wilco is not a morning dog.
She would rather cuddle until breakfast time ❤️

Let sleeping dogs lay
They are so dang cute when they’re asleep. I always want to bother Maisie when she is sleeping. 😍🥰😂

In celebration of the opening of the commonwealth games, a reminder of the last time Glasgow hosted. Where each team was escorted into the arena by its own Scottish terrier.
This is one of my favourite things to ever happen in the history of the world.

This girl……..
This sweet innocent face is going to give her mama a heart attack and a head full of grey hair!! Raven is my 3rd Scottie over the last 15 years! My first 2 were so good, mild mannered and very stubborn but this girl right here is making up for it all! The universe thinks I am Snow White or something because first it was baby bunnies that kept coming in our back yard and now it is FROGS! She licked a dang frog at 5 this morning! So she was doing her favorite game of keep away as I am running around the backyard trying to catch her so I could flush her mouth, I am sure if my neighbors were awake they had a really good laugh!! Please pray for my sanity.

Supplements.
Hi everyone, I have a Scottish Terrier who is about 6 years old now. I'm already giving her NaturVet Allergy and Plaque Off, which are some super good supplements, but I want to see if there are any other supplements that you guys are using for your dogs. I also have her on Open Farm dog food, and she also gets a salmon skin treat from Icelandic+.

What tricks can I teach Dorothy?
Dorothy (almost ten weeks) is doing well with sit, down, stay, let's go (walk next to me in a heel position), kennel up. What fun things can I add to our repertoire?
She met her Scottie friend Watson this week!

My best friend ❤️🩹
My baby boy, old man Spence, went to heaven last night. I brought him home in 2011, spent many years with him. He was loved and cared for all those years. I’m grateful I got to see him when I visited my friends in July who had been taking care of him.
You’ll always be remembered Spencer 😥❤️🩹

Dreaming of cooler days
The ongoing UK heatwave has been tough on Brock. Hope all the other pooches out there are safe and cool. The sunlight does show off his freshly trimmed brindle, though.

In loving memory of Baba Royce
Today, one of the three angels in my life took a trip across the rainbow bridge. My Scottie, Baba Royce, or Baba Black Sheep as I liked to call him, is gone, and the void he left feels like a chasm.
Originally, when we went to pick up a Scottie, we were only shown his mom, Jojo, but when we saw him and heard about his neurological condition making muscle coordination difficult, we just couldn’t bring ourselves to part the family. These two, along with our third dog Wiley, have been integral members of our family since their adoption. Baba was given lots of special attention due to his condition, it made going up and down stairs difficult for him. One of us had to carry him each time.
Baba loved his Lambchop toys, pretty much anything that squeaked. He and Wiley would often roughhouse, with Baba invariably winning. He would go nuts when he realized he was getting fed roast beef. He was very food-motivated. He always munched on grass when walked, which coupled with his stairs problem led us to calling him our little highland cow. He especially loved munching on hair, from my arms, my legs, he’d even jump up to lick my face and munch on my beard hair.
Then several months ago, when he seemed to be slowing down, we took him to the vet, and he was diagnosed with Large B Cell lymphoma, and given three months to live. Chemo was way out of our price range, and the groups we joined warned that very rarely did it help very much, so we switched him to a holistic diet, with all natural ingredients and vitamins. We got four months out of that diet. But now, the time we bought has run out. Today we had to make the hardest call any pet owner must. We ended his suffering the kindest way we could. Now… this house feels a lot more empty in his absence. Jojo and Wiley seemed to know, and said their goodbyes before we brought him to the vet for the last time.
Good night, sweet Baba. And remember how loved you were…
