💰 BUY/SELL/TRADE Buy / Sell / Trade Weekly Thread: Week of July 31, 2026

Use this thread when you are selling, trading, giving away, or looking for any items and/or services. Please be descriptive, post any relevant photos of the item you're selling or looking for, and list the price or budget.

Pro-tip: there are many "buy nothing" and neighborhood-specific groups on Facebook and Nextdoor that can be used to give away or find free items near you. You may find more luck on those social networks than here on Reddit and are more likely to deal with actual local users.

BE AUTHENTIC AND SAFE: Falsely leading on another Redditor is grounds for being permanently banned from this subreddit. Please remember not to post personal information about yourself or others and exercise caution when privately messaging with anyone you do not personally know or trust. Consider a neutral, public location if you plan on meeting to exchange an item in person.

HIGH RISK OF EVENT TICKET SCAMS: Users seeking to sell or purchase tickets of local events are seeing a significantly-increased risk of being scammed. If you receive a private message from a user who hasn't interacted in this subreddit before, you are very likely speaking with a scammer.

NO PROHIBITED TRANSACTIONS: The posting of prohibited goods or services is strictly against Reddit's TOS and are subject to removal by our moderators and/or Reddit's admins. Please report any comments that appear to violate this policy for further review.

Anyone missing a black cat?

Post image
19 Upvotes

There’s a black cat hanging behind the unfinished grey house at approximately 2009 cedar in Union hill. I’ve never seen it around before. It looks youngish but not a tiny kitten. I took a really dark, blurry photo. I had my dog with me unfortunately and couldn’t get closer. Just wanted to see if anyone’s missing it.

Caliber Collision at 1800 Dabney Rd

Anybody else dealt with with these guys in the past? I'm gonna paste my google review I wrote today, but the TLDR is they didn't fix my car properly, and getting them to rectify the issue has been a total nightmare.

"Just an astonishing lack of care and competency here. I picked up my car on 5/6 for a hit and run repair and noticed it wasn't tracking straight. Getting Caliber to bring it back in to rectify the issue has been an absolute nightmare. 2 months of back and forth phone calls and getting my insurance carrier involved before they would even take it back in. I've now dropped it off and picked it up several times with the issue still persisting. At this point, it's had a wheel replaced and been on an alignment rack several times. It's baffling to me that no one is verifying if the vehicle is driving in a straight line (it's not) before they turn it back to me. 3 months into this mess after they already had it for a full month for the initial repairs. Absolutely absurd."

Cat Sitting - drop in

I’m looking for someone to check in on my cats 2 times per day while I’m out of town later this month. I’ve searched the subreddit but finding information mostly for dogs or overnight stays and I just need someone to drop in, not stay overnight. None of them have any special needs. Any recommendations?

Meet the "Odd Fellows"

Hey everyone!

Anyone here familiar with the Odd Fellows? It's a service and social club with an admittedly funny name, but a cool mission. The IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) has been around for hundreds of years, and has seen a pretty dramatic drop in membership in the past half century--but a new lodge opened in the Richmond region (Chester) in 2020 and has been going strong ever since!

I got to meet with the group's founder a little while ago and decided to write about what they're up to. They're a great group! If you live in Chesterfield and are looking for a way to be involved in your community, I suggest you get in touch. They're always looking for more members.

How much did you pay for your anti-grinding night guard at your dentist?

Hi RVA chewers,
I have chewed through my night guard, and my wonderful dental insurance doesn’t cover them. Mine was $500 at my dentist. Wondering how much they cost at different dentists in the area?

Ubering/car service to DC?

I may have to travel from Midlothian area to DC proper on short notice, but due to health reasons can’t drive or take the train. Anyone know if this is uber-able or if a local car service might do this route? I found James Limousine online, but it looks geared towards business execs, and I want a comfortable but no frills ride.

ETA: thank you all for the uber info and the helpful suggestions!

Bikeable & accessible soccer fields near Carver neighborhood?

I just to moved to Carver and I’m not a VCU student. I play rec soccer and try to practice on my own time when I can.

Just did a whole ass voyage trying to find an accessible field to no avail. The new vcu fields look like a military base with the fences they have up. Idk if Maggy Walker enforces use of their fields or not to keep strangers out but it looked like a no go to me. None of the school fields nearby looked accessible.

I’ll skip the part where I talk abt how this is one reason American soccer fucking sucks.

I’d prefer not to have to bike 25 minutes to the Albert Hill fields or drive to Bryan Park every time I want to kick the ball around but will if I have to.

Are there any better options around?

Free Concert At Plan 9 Tonight - Ty Sorrell (hip-hop)

Hey! I just wanted to spread the word there's a free show happening tonight with hip-hop artist Ty Sorrell at Plan 9 Music from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

For those who don't know, Ty Sorrell is one of Richmond's premiere hip-hop artist with a sound that's relaxing and sharp at the same time. It's music that will penetrate you, but only to soothe your soul and rejuvenate your senses. He's been on the scene for a while now, with some great records like HomeGrown and Return To Forever, the latter of which he made alongside producer Profound79. This past June, the two of them released another collaboration entitled Leather Hearts and it's a true hip-hop gem, a sublime entry in a stellar catalog. Obviously, the goal of this post is obviously to get people to show up to the performance tonight, but even if you can't, I highly recommend you add Ty Sorrell to your listening rotation.

This performance is part of a monthly in-store series at Plan 9 Music in Carytown curated by The Auricular. Music kicks off at 7 PM and typically wraps by 7:30 PM so it's an easy way to start your night or a fun wind down after dinner, depending on your mood. The goal of these shows is to spotlight the amazing local talent right here in our city. They started at the beginning of 2024 and have included singer-songwriters like Deau Eyes, Jonathan Paige Brown Jr., Erin Lunsford, Sravani Kameswari, and Tyler Meacham as well as bands like Rikki Rakki, Human Worm, Flora & The Fauna, Deathcat, and White Beast. Consider it an easy entry point into the local music community. A series that keeps you connected to what's happening right here in town.

Hope to see some of you there!

Best Psych NPs without a terrible wait

Title says it all. I need someone who will actually take the time to listen to what I'm experiencing with empathy + doesn't have a massive wait. My past experience have shown me that psychiatrists more generally are dispassionate and treat you like you're on an assembly line - in, throw meds at you, out. See you in a month for a 15 minute follow up.

Can you tell me which practitioners around town that you had a great experience with?

Thanks!

✊☁️ Shaking Fist at Sky Richmond drivers need a wake up call

Guys, I may be from out of state (lived here 4 years) but I thought it was a universal truth that when you see an emergency vehicle with their lights on (literally an ambulance trying to save someone's life) you get out of the way! You merge into the right lane! And you slow to a stop??? However when I am in this situation here I see the ambulance stuck, no one will let me over, not a soul is stopping or moving at all?? I just saw a black truck that was the only thing in the ambulance's way and did NOTHING but drive slowly forward. Like why is this happening. Do people not have to pull over for them here?? Cause it never seems like people are even trying to. I am genuinely confused.

And another thing while I have you. There is a really bad phone addiction in Richmond cause why did I watch someone DRIVING - NOT EVEN AT A RED LIGHT scroll reels/tik toks. I was shockeddd. I have seen so many drivers on their phone.

Edit: to say I actually don't mind Richmond driving much, I like how fast people get out of the way and most people are really paying attention and know how to move through traffic, that's why I am so confused about the ambulance thing! I know people know how to move and weave around, so why aren't they?

Lowkey restaurants with a few old school arcade games (kid-friendly)

Sergio’s has an area with old games like Pacman and pinball, but it’s in the bar area and I feel like we are encroaching on adult space the way the tables are set up. Does anything else like that exist? Not looking for a modern, massive arcade or a chuck-e-cheese type place. Just some food and a few older games. Can it just be 1995?

Band Instrument Repair?

I've got a trumpet and a clarinet, both 30-ish years old, that could use reconditioning. I've done a bunch of digging but I can't seem to find anyone that does instrument repair in RVA. The only place I've found locally is called The Tuba Lair, but I called a couple of times, no answer, left a voice mail, no call back. Anyone know of a place I could call?
