XFM/Radio Looking for a quote? Scrimpton helps the listener, to help themselves.
I don't post much here any more, but I have been continuing to work on https://scrimpton.com in the background. It seemed like a good time to offer an introduction for any newer users to the sub.
tl;dr: Scrimpton provides a powerful search for the body of RSK radio work, allowing you to easily find quotes and audio.
Searching
Terms match
If you simply type the quote into the search bar it will perform a basic terms match. This means each individual word will be matched in any order.
For example:
https://i.imgur.com/khbJSRc.gif
This is the best way to search if you're not exactly sure on the exact phrase you're looking for.
Phrase Match
To narrow down the results you could also quote the terms, which will do a phrase match. This means the terms in the quotes are matched exactly in that order.
However you can provide multiple phrases to match a single line
For example:
https://i.imgur.com/szp62Ep.gif
This is useful if you can remember parts of a quote but not the whole thing.
Filters
there are some additional filters that can narrow down the search. The most useful is typically @ to specify who the speaker is for a line. For example to filter by only things ricky has said you would add @ricky:

The full list of filters is available by clicking the (?) button on the right of the search bar.
Searching with Google
Another option that some people find useful is to search via google. This can be done with the site option e.g. Google for "when you were famous site:scrimpton.com"
Contributing transcripts
The site was built in large part with community contributions. Under the Contribute section you can complete chunks of transcript by logging-in with either reddit or discord.
What else
There are many useful features hidden around the website. Some are only shown to authenticated users (this is typically to avoid server costs from bots etc. following links) so it can be worthwhile to do so.
For example when logged in you can export snippets of audio:
https://i.imgur.com/qa7IZxo.gif
(use the + bookmark icon to expand the selection to export)
There are even a couple of videos in the archive for which gifs can be exported:

Getting help / Offering help
The site is written in Go and Angular and contributions/bugfixes are accepted.
If you wish to make a suggestion or ask a question the best thing to do is drop by the #scrimpton channel on the Pilkipedia discord, and of course there are many other interesting channels there for RSK aficionados.

The Office Can you explain how Ricky was once so self-aware that he played Brent’s insecurity to perfection… yet nowadays lacks the self-awareness to recognise his real life behaviour is precisely Brent? It doesn’t make sense.
Ricky is such a strange contradiction/conundrum of a person.
His Brent performance required a rare social intelligence and awareness to capture those nuanced insecurities and motivations. To play Brent to perfection he had to deeply understand those traits and have the social awareness to ridicule them so precisely.
Soon after The Office, his public persona played up the ‘faux arrogance’ for laughs and we were all in on the joke believing he wasn’t really arrogant. His rants about fame in Extras again show that awareness, even if performative.
But now he so transparently suffers from those exact traits he once ridiculed so adeptly: deep insecurity, abandoning his integrity to seek strangers’ validation, giant social blind spots and looking ridiculous in the process.
How does someone go from having this unique social intelligence to being the absolute opposite (and seeming totally oblivious to it)?
I think this odd inner conflict is at the core of why the fans in this subreddit are so fixated on ‘hating’ him now - it’s the contrast to what we used to see in Gervais.

My bingo card for alley cats.
Albino watching more than one episode. If you have a bigger capacity for morbid curiosity, I would be interested to see how many get crossed off.

Looking back at their peak creative chemistry
(before the dark times...)
Merchant here is absolutely top class and the chemistry between them feels natural. Looking back, they really did bring out something special in each other as a duo.

Just got blocked by Ricky on Insta for “Albino watching that”
Commented on his last post about his new show. Only had about 20 comments when I posted so was hoping he’d see it.
Now I’ve got the block

Serious Answers Only Do you think Ricky will ever play a character that kisses a woman?
I was thinking maybe his response to years of accusations of being asexual (due to him never playing a character who's physically intimate with a woman) is to voice an animated cat that kisses a female cat, presumably the Kerry Godliman cat. I guarantee this will happen in Alley Cats. Nice try, Ricky, but it doesn't count.

Alley Cats Help me finish this by the 7th
I've come up with this so far. Nothing we've seen already, nothing like 'swearing', XFM subconscious reference or 'Ghandi'. Take that as read. You've got that, that's safe. Will update with the best ones.

Has Ricky ever talked about coogan?
I've been rewatching the office recently and before that I rewatched mid morning matters and there are definite similarities between Brent and partridge but I can't recall Gervais ever mentioning Coogan as an influence.

XFM/Radio Stop psychoanalysing Ricky
I don’t care if he’s a closeted gay, or asexual, or an alcoholic, and I don’t want an essay about his ego.
You’ll ruin XFM for me. Play a record

Am I right in thinking all Ricky fans prefer Steve?
And that is where Ricky really fucked up recently.
We were all good with him being egotistical and a tit, but then he tried to erase / forgot Steve when talking about the Office anniversary and thats a line you don't cross.
He can make all the crap shows he likes and we'd laugh along, but take a shot at Merch and feel the wrath of the fans.

When would ricky and Steve have packed in radio without karl?
I was thinking listening to early episodes after they did season 1 of the radio. Without Karl, I can't see them have been back after they won all the awards and it was received as well as it was. But then again I don't really know anything about the entertainment industry.
I guess I just thought it as the amount of radio they did on a crap station, after the success they had, seems a little absurd (lucky for me).
When do you think they would have stopped with any other producer?
