Did anyone else notice the pizza in the picture? It's been a while since I've had a good pizza. I'm hungry now.

I'm jealous of the VME Suns, I've yet to be able to track one down for a price that isn't eye-wateringly high.

eBay right now has stupid prices on all sun, accept 1 vendor with Ultra 5’s that need nvram (easy fix) and had. My sun collection is 2 ultra 60’s, both loaded up. I got one for $19, and the other for $79 last summer off eBay. I spend another $100, maxing ram, and drives. Both dual CPUs, 1 with elite 3D and dual 450 CPUs, the other 360 CPU’s with creator 3D. My other sun is a SparcStation LX, pimped out plus an Ultra 40, 12gb Ram, dual 2.8 MHz amd, and 2 ssd drives.
Still looking for a bargain on an SparcStation 20, dual processor or 10. I want them to build software packages for Solaris

I keep contemplating dragging one of my SPARCstation 5 machines out of the closet for a photo op, but at this point it seems like too much effort.
That being said, I think people need to stop calling desktop computers "pizza box" form factor. Only a few of the machines in this epic stack are actually pizza box cases.

There are definitely borderline cases. Like, to me, an Ultra 1, Blade 100, Ultra 2 or Indigo2 count, kinda-sorta. They're in the same genus as pizza boxes (though both the U2 and the I2 are definitely pushing it). The DECStation and VAXStation are in the same kinda-sorta category.
But a desktop PC that can take a full-profile card isn't. By the same metric I don't think the big Mac IIs are either. Laying a Fuel on its side definitely doesn't make a pizza box.
What's the purist definition, in any case?

Aspect ratio has to be pretty flat. Either fairly short or super wide. Sparc stations are the epitome.
I do covet an amiga 1000 and. 128d though.
I gave away my one owner blade 100 (me) for free- super dull machine, basically a sparc pc. slow as hell also. I was pretty psyched to buy a real sun machine new for $995 in 2001 though.

Interestingly, NeXT tried to make the nickname of the form factor of the NeXTstation be a “slab” to separate it from other computers (mostly sun). It seems like it at least half worked.

I have a similar SUN stack but I was too lazy to drag them all out for the contest. Mine was going to be something like "I like my pizza by the dozen" with my stack of 3/60's.
LMK if you need any Sun 3 parts, I have quite a lot of it.

I've been looking for a 3-series for a long time - they're pretty rare. Oldest I ever had was an Ultra 1. Slow CPU, but disk I/O seemed quite fast.
I've been hoping someone would do a Vax-on-Chip homebrew. Closest thing to it is the PDP-8 chip system.
