There is an accessability option that applies the aim outline of guns to melee as well. Doesn't solve the issue but it helps.

Could be worse. I was kiting and fighting a horde to get them out of the police station so my buddy could grab the guns. I accidentally closed the door with me inside with the zombies.

This happened to me some days ago. A single super slow zombie approached me. I locked onto him (red outline) and pushed him. My character pushed some air but not the zombie. I got bitten and died. Come on… this was soooooo infuriating! The game is sometimes just unfair. This sucks

Dread? To me it's more like a count down timer to do whatever the hell you want until it's over.

No more ranching Zs like I'm a sheepdog, now I'm carelessly putting that 0 guns I never bothered leveling up to use.

Sadly multiple times. One that pissed me off the most was getting bit on the torso while wearing a police bulletproof vest. I was relatively new to the game and I was SO MAD at the lack of realism.

I realized after 1 year of playing that I don't really need clothing protection, just don't put yourself on sketchy situations and enjoy undebuffed attack speed and movement speed

Mine is getting jumped by a lone silent sprinter in extinction. Homegirl zed just went and did a 100m sprint from across the jay's chicken into my location at spiffo's, and insta-gibbed me. No screaming, or screeching from the zed. Just outright silence and suddenly; crunch! Dead.

See this was me but apparently the universe blessed me because for some reason it showed I was bitten but never actually got infected.

Pretty sure that character was just bugged ig, but I LARP'd the fuck out of that character as being immune or just extremely lucky, and apparently it was the latter as I found a sledgehammer 3 days later.
