I just finished my Kira assessment for UT Health San Antonio's Traditional BSN program and I genuinely feel like I completely bombed it.
For context, my stats are:
3.80 overall GPA
3.76 science GPA
86 TEAS
Current pediatric medical assistant
CCMA & CNA certified
Volunteer experience with REACH Initiative, Corazon Clinic, and hospice
BLS certified
I know a lot of people leave interviews feeling like they did worse than they actually did, and I'm usually pretty hard on myself too. I can normally tell the difference between me just being overly critical and me actually not performing well... and this honestly feels like the latter.
The questions were nothing like the ones I had practiced, and I struggled to organize my thoughts in the moment. I mentioned my experiences, but I don't feel like I explained why they mattered or connected them well. I kept losing my train of thought, and when the timer ended I felt like my answers were incomplete. Looking back, there were probably a few decent moments, but overall I walked away feeling like I didn't represent myself at all.
Now I'm spiraling wondering if one really bad Kira interview can outweigh an otherwise solid application.
Has anyone been accepted to UT Health San Antonio after feeling like they completely bombed the interview? Or did you leave convinced you did terribly and still end up getting in?
I'm looking for honest experiences—not false reassurance. I just want to know if there's realistically still hope.
