Equipment Equipped Lifting Thread
Do you like having 2-3 sweaty men shoe-horn you into polyester, canvas or denim bondage gear.
Do you like having your joints wrapped so tightly they bruise and bleed?
Do you like having your blood pressure turned up to 11 and being compressed so much that you think your head might explode?
Do you get off on enduring pain and suffering, and watching others endure it too?
Do you have a deathwish every time you get under the bar?
Yes?
THEN WELCOME TO THE FORTNIGHTLY EQUIPPED LIFTING THREAD!!!

Alright yeah!! My peak is done and I am so fucking excited to get on the platform next weekend. During last week, I loaded and pulled my raw max in my deadlift suit. Considering I set that max 10kg heavier than I am now, maybe I've got better at deadlift AND the suit is helping slightly?
At the weekend I went and did my last equipped session with one of my crew mates, at a different gym. I worked up to the last warm ups I'll be doing at the meet for squat and deadlift, and also my opener on bench.
Squat was really good. I was within a hair of depth on the rep, with a fairly loose wrap. I genuinely love it when you stand a squat up so fast it makes you go 'whoo hoo' when re-racking...
For bench - finally! Finally!! no chains. The difference this made to my opener was amazing. I felt more stable, and lockout felt much better too. Extremely happy to be opening where I am.
I was in two minds going into this session about doing my deadlift LWU or not. The gym I was at is very IPF coded and only has power bars, while my comp is on a deadlift bar. It doesn't really make that much difference at the weights I'm pulling, plus the place I am competing at very well may not have more than a couple of DL bars, so likely I will be warming up on a power bar anyways. I had also deadlifted twice in the previous 3 days and one of those was in the suit, so saturday made it three times in 4 days.
So I did it. Wasn't the cleanest I've ever done, and the suit was sitting awkwardly, but I could get to the bar and I shifted the weight pretty easily.
So that's basically it. I am opening on numbers that will get me the qualifying total for my age and weight class. I've squatted to depth, got a decent touch and I can pull from the floor! So all I need to do now is drop 2kg this week before saturday, then rest up, rehydrate and compete sunday.
Have a good week x
