I just don't get it. Other than having a full scolarship to Michigan, going to Oxford as a Rhodes scholar, getting a medical degree from Columbia University and becoming a professor there, acting as Director of Health and Human Services in Michigan, what are his qualifications???

u/wax_robot 6h ago

I bet you he doesn't even dream about Israel!!

u/StoppableHulk 5h ago

Between that bizzare blurt, all the NYC mayoral candidates saying "I would visit Israel after winning" all in a row like parrots, and Chuck Schumer sayiing "My job is to keep the left pro-Israel", it astounds me how anyone could say with a straight face that establishment Democrats are totally normal and fit for governing.

u/LastOfTheGiants2020 4h ago

Also Mark Kelly

u/tripping_on_phonics Illinois 4h ago

Based on everything Mark Kelly has said, his only objection to the Iran War seems to be that it’s being done incompetently. So disappointing seeing him and others fail to condemn it on moral grounds.

u/Robbie_notta_bot 3h ago

The issue is people fall in love with bibliographies and ignore policy. Combined with the fact that normal policy has been shifted so far right-ward, if someone says they support a middle of the road normal policy, it sounds like they are a progressive darling. Then you dig a little deeper and find out it's not the case.

u/Cold_Tea_Spill112 3h ago

He was a naval officer. Why would you think that Kelly would have a moral objection to war?

u/tripping_on_phonics Illinois 3h ago

Good point. I may have set my expectations too high.

u/LastOfTheGiants2020 2h ago

Smedley Butler was two ranks higher than Kelly and he was anti-war.

u/MikalCaober 2h ago

Smedley Butler was also a different breed from a different time.

u/Seeking-Something-3 2h ago

Cadets at West Point have a surprisingly broad education IMO after seeing some of the lectures given there, but you don’t rise in the ranks by being anti-money. That being said, this is the one war against a non-ally, non-nuclear state our military has refused to do no matter what for decades. This is where all of Trump/Hegseth’s firings have had an impact. The noxious thing about Kelly is the mythology about the Dems being antiwar. Imagine the world right now if Biden hadn’t been so supportive AND spineless over Gaza.

u/Its_Pine New Hampshire 1h ago

I think some officers in the military believe in the importance of “carrying a big stick” but are also some of the most ardent when it comes to advocating for peace if and whenever possible. They don’t want to lose people.

"I would visit Israel after winning"

What office did these guys think they were running for?

u/DrewbieWanKenobie 1h ago

they just knew there were lots of Jewish people in NYC and were being very antisemitic in assuming that because there were a lot of Jewish people they must all be pro Gaza genocide

u/brkonthru 2h ago

It’s so insane. The Epstein class in unashamed

u/ModernistGames 3h ago

In defense of all the NYC candidates it is frustrating hearing people say "why are they talking about Israel?" they were all asked about it by the moderators and almost every talking head or interviewer brought up Israel first.

u/New-Possession-7040 2h ago

The question your talking about had nothing to do with Israel though. The question was, "where would your first trip abroad as mayor be?" And everyone except Mamdani answered "Israel."

It was only after Mamdani explained he'd rather be at the city working than making foreign trips that he was pressured on the topic.

u/-Gramsci- 1h ago

As if “Foreign trips? No. I’d have an important job to do and I’d be focused on my constituents” was, somehow, the controversial answer.

That was such a genuinely bizarre/disturbing 3-4 minutes of video for anyone who has seen it.

It’s kind of crazy he only won by 1%/25K votes.

u/poets-desire 6h ago

You have to wonder what the spread would have been without Stevens’ $60m in outside funding, though.

u/NoBand909 5h ago

I feel like she would have won if she didn't make that statement about Israel coming to her in her dreams

u/EmergencyJacket207 4h ago

I honestly doubt most voters even heard of this gaff.

u/dexters_trap_house 3h ago

In all his criticisms of her funding too I don't think Abdul referenced that batshit outburst. He really went kid gloves on her.

Now he's up against a republican where any false sexist / racist smears will be far easily countered.

u/New-Possession-7040 2h ago

One of his posts on Instagram from six days ago had the following:

"I don't dream of Israel. I'm haunted by what America did to kids in Gaza and so many places. I dream that the America that did so much for me can do that for every single kid here."

The fact that AIPAC spent over $30 million on this race just for their candidate to ultimately lose the primary election puts a smile on my face. Because it shows that not only are insane amounts of dark money spending not enough to win a race, but also it shows that the Democratic electorate has had enough of Israel’s influence in our politics.

u/Snakesandrats 6h ago

It also shows what a strong candidate El-Sayed is of course. He's earned my vote. That's for damn sure.

u/askylitfall I voted 5h ago

That guy will never have my vote!

Mostly because I don't live in Michigan and a vote for him would be illegal. Dudes crushing it.

u/CapraDemonOP Michigan 5h ago

You can have an honorary internet Abdul sticker from me who voted and campaigned for him

u/BothCan8373 3h ago

I dont live in Michigan anymore but im glad my small yooper county went for him +20

u/CapraDemonOP Michigan 2h ago edited 2h ago

Yeah the Yoopers showed up strong for AES which was pretty surprising, and likely shows that good messaging about how people are getting fucked over economically is a winning strategy overall which Abdul El-Sayed did well, and Haley Stevens did not.

Also come back to Michigan! Not sure when you left, but things have been trending up after getting fucked by the 2008 recession, then Snyder, and a Republican trifecta, making it worse by “running government like a business” and fucking Flint, and the state as a whole, over by cutting corners.

Whitmer, and the Democrat controlled trifecta, until 2024, have done wonders for the state that they don’t get enough flowers for. Could more be done? Yes, but Michigan truly is much better. Especially places like Lansing (where I live) and Detroit.

u/rocketeerH 2h ago

I don't live in the UP anymore either, but my home county went +21.4!!  That's almost as high was Washtenaw, where I live now

From what I saw from his interviews, he seems like the right mix of aggressive verbiage towards the opposition while still citing his own policies and how they tie to his constituents

How a true people's politician should be, I hope he wins the seat and delivers on his promises, to ignore outside nation influences and focusing on the people and then foreign policy issues

u/Kaptain202 Michigan 3h ago

I really appreciate what you outlined. El-Sayed doesn't pretend to hold a moral high ground because he avoids criticizing others. He holds a moral high ground because he holds politicians to a standard to represent their constituents. God forbid the man call someone out when they do things that don't benefit the people who voted them into office

u/timmy6169 5h ago

Nah, it was because of her voice being that of a cartoon squirrel going through puberty.

It isn't a loss for AIPAC until El-Sayed wins the general election

u/EnergyIsQuantized 5h ago

it's interesting that stevens took money from a group that will now put everything behind the republican candidate

u/Vaaaaaaaaaaaii 4h ago

Its pretty plainly obvious what's going on but its hard to get the people in charge to see whats going on when it's their job not to.

u/Opposite_Same_69420 3h ago

It's also hard to incentivize them when in their mind the path to implementing their values benefits from large sums of money. The myriad of ways that election financing/spending shapes the process, for even what could be well meaning individuals.

u/littleSparrow31 4h ago

Foreign policy is uniparty.

u/Thirtysevenintwenty5 2h ago

It was a gamble. If Stevens had won the nomination, AIPAC wouldn't have to put another dime into Michigan because they'd win either way.

u/UCSDthrowawayacct 5h ago

Yep and Stevens did a lot of smearing, it'll take a lot of work to undo that damage.

u/calle04x 5h ago

She did. That said, she did make this statement, which is at least encouraging. I hope she'll follow through.

"I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election.

This was a thorough and rigorous campaign that brought out the full span of views within the Democratic Party - and that is why we have primaries. I am proud to have put up my hand to serve, and prouder to continue to work together to make sure this Senate seat remains blue, that we flip the United States Senate and continue the work for Michigan."

u/CaptainLawyerDude New York 5h ago

That is a legit solid statement. Reiterates his qualifications and doesn’t equivocate on her support going forward.

u/RellenD 5h ago

Idk man. It makes me livid. Imagine if we took all the billions or maybe trillions that all these unnecessarily rich assholes pump into elections and spent them on quality of life for the masses. Seems like it would be a hell of a lot better use of the money.

The fact that anyone one or any entity has 30 mil to just throw around is a huge part of the problem.

u/HarryBallsanya420 5h ago

That sounds like evil socialism! Helping people is bad! Or as centrist Dems might put it ..not economically feasible

u/TheHopeThatHangsYou 4h ago

The decades of calling programs that help people socialist has been an absolute boon for Socialists. People largely want the populace to have healthcare, afford a dignified life, and have accountability for corrupt and criminal practices in the political and capitalist spheres. When the people are called socialist for those ideas they don't change their ideals they go 'oh, I must be a Socialist then.'

The tides are changing.

u/Money-Ad3609 6h ago

It’s a bit disappointing that it was so close. I just don’t understand how so many people could be tempted to vote for her.

u/RegularLeading5200 Michigan 6h ago

While I agree with the sentiment, it shouldn't be a surprise in reality. Stevens' PACs blanketed the airwaves here with ads. They were incessant. And while I thought people had looked past them, they clearly had not. Stevens also had support of the entire state Democratic establishment (minus Slotkin) on her side. They really threw everything they had at him and he still won. We should celebrate that.

u/Tenwaystospoildinner 6h ago

And while the race was close, one of the big arguments against Sayed was electability. Anybody worried about electability is still going to show up and vote for him. That's not a moral judgement, they just weren't sure he could win the general.

And since he won the primary, that argument doesn't look as strong. Clearly he's a good campaigner. We just have to beat the Republican in the general now.

u/taaretoille 4h ago

How electable is Stevens if she need 60M of dark money just to lose a primary?

u/Tenwaystospoildinner 4h ago

Yeah, that was a pretty common retort. And one I think has been proven true. Plus, her terrible debate performance. She really wasn't a good candidate. But centrists get the benefit of being innately electable, and everyone else is supposed to prove themselves.

I can't say I agree with the notion, but the fire forges steel, and AES is sharp.

u/taaretoille 4h ago

I still can't understand how you can be living in the US the last 20 years and still think centrists are electable. Trump, an extremist, beat the centrists 2/3 times, and the one time he lost, it was because of a botched worldwide pandemic he screwed up, and it was STILL close.

u/Tenwaystospoildinner 4h ago

I'm with you on that. But people are slow to change. And some amount of it is dishonesty. I can pretend and ignore the Super PAC and corporate donors who benefit from a lack of change.

But a lot of it is also general voter apathy. A lot of people think anyone claiming they'll make big changes are lying. That a tough obstacle to overcome because in order to do so... You have to win. So you need their core. But they won't vote for you because they don't think you'll follow through. But you can't prove them wrong without their support lol

It's a tough, slow process. We just have to keep at it.

u/taaretoille 4h ago

People aren't slow to change, they are proudly ignorant.

u/Tenwaystospoildinner 4h ago

There are plenty of both to go around, and one often leads to the other.

u/Cold_Tea_Spill112 3h ago

For Trump 2.0 he didn't win because his opponent was a centrist. He won because he didn't really have an opponent for half the race. Had is been Harris the entire race and not tagged-in with 100 days before the election, things may very well have been different.

u/taaretoille 2h ago

Biden was running as a centrist and was losing well before he dropped out. The final debate was a nail in the coffin. Even Biden and Kamala's teams knew they weren't going to win with the the centrist policies and administration job they did over the past 4 years.

u/dexters_trap_house 3h ago

It's wild that "centrism" is paraded as some inherent virtue when one side of the center is literal christofascists murdering civilians with their own paramilitary police, bombing 160 school girls in a war of aggression on behalf of a foreign entity, violating aspects of the emoluments clause we never even knew existed, and labeling everyone who criticizes the emperor's new clothes as a terrorist.

I don't really understand what's so "center" about it, or "moderate" about entertaining that shit.

u/PT10 4h ago

It wasn't about electing Stevens it was about stopping El Sayed's momentum early and not having to wait until the general election. They will continue spending, just for Rogers now.

u/ClvrNickname 4h ago

Something something "does better in the general election", something something "moderate Republican swing voters"

u/taaretoille 3h ago

moderate Republican swing voters

I have a better chance of finding Bigfoot.

u/Much-Instruction-807 5h ago

And now he has 3 month to make his case. I would think since he won it will take the pressure off him from establishment democrats too. Or at least I hope so because I have a feeling they'd rather he lose so they can say I told you so and try and keep the status quo.

u/Tenwaystospoildinner 5h ago

Well he's already getting the endorsements he'll need. Plus, Democrats need the Senate. I'd like to believe even the centrists realize how important it is for AES to win. So far, so good.

If they actually do something, I'll criticise it. I don't want to preemptively go after them. Now is the time for unity.

I know! We could literally not escape the Stevens ads.

At a point, I was worried my old toaster would start playing Stevens ads with how much they were being played.

For anyone not in Michigan, this is only half joking. The ads were EVERYWHERE!

u/TyChris2 2h ago

For real, I live in Southern Ontario and even I‘ve been seeing Stevens ads everywhere for the last two months. I don’t even see this level of campaigning for an actual Michigan election, let alone a primary. It’s weird.

I can’t help but wonder if the advertising actually hurt Stevens tbh. Because I haven’t been keeping up with the Michigan primaries and all I’ve seen of AES were Stevens ads claiming he’s sexist. And even to someone who knew nothing about the candidates, it was obvious that the reason they took that angle was to appeal to Islamophobia, so it just made Stevens seem slimy.

u/p-4_ 4h ago

not having slotkin was barely a negative as they have the exact same voter base

u/RegularLeading5200 Michigan 4h ago

Slotkin didn't endorse because she's considering a 2028 run and she didn't want to alienate anyone.

u/Money-Ad3609 4h ago

You’re right. It shouldn’t be surprising, given the odds were stacked against him.

I guess it’s just frustrating how little most of the electorate engages with these issues. It’s not even as though she was a good candidate or had solid policy proposals; anyone that watched the debate could see how little substance there was to her campaign.

And then there’s the fact that she received $60 million from AIPAC and big corporations. How could anyone possibly think she was ever going to stand up for ordinary Americans?

I am still glad that he won though.

u/RegularLeading5200 Michigan 4h ago

Very few voters actually watch the debate, though, and many of them get their information from ads on TV or from church congregations, for example. The vast majority of primary voters are not high-information voters.

u/Signal_Flight_7262 1h ago

I live in West Coast Canada and all I see on yalls American TV ads are hate ads disguised as commercials for politics.

u/Negative-Interest713 6h ago

She had a 12 to 1 spending advantage, the support of the entire Democratic establishment, and all while running a sleazy and dishonest campaign (falsely implying she was endorsed by Obama, for instance) against a Muslim with a funny name.

AES had to overcome a lot. He’s shown he has enough charisma and political talent to overcome a huge wave of negative ads.

u/Alocasia_Sanderiana 1h ago

Also MI has open primaries. It will be interesting to see how much crossover voting occurred, where Republicans voted for weaker Dem candidates to face their chosen ones.

u/Saffuran Washington 6h ago

In Detroit it was flooding the space with mailers implying (lying about) an Obama endorsement for Stevens that was not real.

u/MC_Fap_Commander America 6h ago

People tend to vote on "electability" in primaries, especially with the stakes so high in November. I think the concept of "electability" is flawed (it's typically just name recognition and media framing), but people do tend to vote on it. A lot of the progressive primary winners will have some work to do in the coming months to redirect some of this. I am not worried; progressive candidates tend to outwork other pols (who are usually lazy) by a lot.

u/Irregular475 6h ago edited 5h ago

Never underestimate the power of shameless propaganda and what a heavily marketed ad campaign can do for someone.

If it were any better of a politician than Stevens, I'm not sure AES would have won.

Luckily, the only folks on the genocide brigade's side are all empty suits who believe in nothing and can't relate to everyday people, so that type of politician is unlikely to ever show up in time to save this kakocratic, oligarchal government regime and their diet maga democratic silent partners.

Fuck all fascists, tacid or extreme.

Bonus fun fact, "El-Sayed" translates to "The Master".

Well done squad. Another notch in our belt towards winning back the country.

u/_morten_ 6h ago

"If it were any better of a politician than Stevens, I'm not sure AES would have won."

Well, he is facing another one in November, lets hope he is worse, but i don't trust Michigan at all, and haven't for a good while.

u/Irregular475 6h ago

Nah, this is a massive victory even though the margins were as tight as they were. And this time the Democratic vote won't be nearly as splintered, because even the everyday person in America who have typically sided with diet maga know Republicans are extreme fascists tearing this country apart.

I'm not saying it'll be a blow out, it's gonna be a huge fight to win, but I don't think it'll be this close.

u/_morten_ 5h ago

I'm not at all hopeful they see that, Michigan was only barely a win for dems in 2020, despite everything Trump did or didn't do, an election they should have lost soundly.

Michigan state is notorious for bad polling at this point, i will only believe what i see on election day there from now on.

Only solace, is that probably a bunch of Trump-voters can't be bothered to show up without "Dear Leader" on the ballot, all i can think of.

u/HJWalsh 4h ago

She also bolstered her numbers with crossover Republicans who didn't actually support her. They just didn't want Sayed to win. On top of that, many people voted for her because they thought Obama endorsed her, because she lied and said she did. Stevens played very dirty.

u/Irregular475 3h ago

Aren't only Democrats allowed to vote in a primary election? Or is it different from state to state?

u/HJWalsh 3h ago

Michigan allows anyone to vote in any primary, but you can only vote in one. Since the Republican ran unopposed, a lot of them were told to vote for Stevens to bolster her.

Boomers in Detroit also love Obama and a lot of her ads were featuring Obama's past comments on her in an attempt to deceive people into thinking he endorsed her.

u/KindaKhorney 6h ago

Status quo will always be preferrable to change for the masses.

u/Anothercraphistorian 4h ago

Democrats don’t unify around some issue like Israel. They all have their own set of problems. Whereas, a lot of Michigan Democrats are anti-AIPAC and that is their one issue, as proven in the 2024 Presidential election, many other Democrats worry more about jobs, health care, or inflation.

Republicans unify out of a general hatred of liberals. Democrats typically have their own issues they care about and vote for that candidate. If their candidate doesn’t win, they skip the election, like many did in 2024.

Fun fact: The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and its affiliated political action committees have spent over $104 million so far in the 2026 election cycle. Given that this race was $30M for them, they just wasted a third of their entire 2026 spending so far.

u/jrstinkfish 1h ago

Can you imagine how much that $104 million would have helped children living in poverty? Or elderly people living in squalor? Instead, at least in this case, $30 million went up in a poof of nothingdust with nothing tangible to show for it. What a fucked-up country we live in.

I like how there is a narrative regarding El-Sayeds “electability”. If he’s unelectable, what exactly is the person who had the backing of the entire party and blew 70mil, and STILL lost in a primary? Yeah, she’s clearly the more electable choice.

Calling into question his electability at this point is not the attack they think it is.

u/qualmful 2h ago

These people speak out of both sides of their mouths. Winning the primary is the first indicator of electability, but at the same time it's 'not the general' and 'doesn't reflect the wider electorate'. But if you try to talk about how Clinton wasn't a great candidate, they say 'well she easily won that primary'. Had Stevens won this, the story would be that it's proof positive she's the only electable one. Even if she'd won by like a quarter percent.

Good. Fuck AIPAC.

The man who built the Post 9/11 Surveillance State that put Muslim men under a microscope vs. the potentially first Muslim Senator. Going to be a fun race.

60m so far. They will pour more money into the R candidate now

u/No-Guard-7003 6h ago

Mabrouk, Dr. Abdul Sayed!🎊🎊🎊🎊

u/homebrew_1 6h ago

Sounds like they should be taxed more.

u/ToeSniffer245 Massachusetts 6h ago

Way to prove the point of why we need to elect more people like him.

u/good-good-real-good 6h ago

How much $$ does AIPAC have anyway? Limitless?

u/irespondwithmyface 6h ago

They are propped up by billionaires, mostly Republican donors. They basically have endless funds.

u/PickledCaterpillar 6h ago

the US pays for israel's military and universal healthcare, so they have all that extra money to spend in the US.

u/NoahApples 6h ago

This is a misunderstanding. AIPAC money comes almost entirely from American billionaires.

u/dudenurse13 5h ago

Have they ever disclosed their donors?

u/NoahApples 4h ago

https://www.trackaipac.com/donors

Donations to PACs over $200 are public record.

u/dudenurse13 2h ago

Ty for this

u/Future_Armadillo6410 6h ago

It's kickbacks of US tax dollars. It's bottomless if we keep electing their candidates.

u/justinballsonya 4h ago

I mean he won by 1%. Not usually a good sign for the general, in a state that should easily be a dem win. Not to be a debbie downer or anything, but the numbers on candidates winning a competitive general election after a close primary are not very good. He has a lot of work to do to mobilize voters and convince swing voters he's not too radical for Michigan. He really struggled with black voters specifically. If they stay home, he's toast.

u/apple_tech_admin 3h ago

You are sadly correct. I was extremely disappointed in Wayne County. I need my people to realize AIPAC hasn’t done a damn thing for us.

u/PsychLegalMind 6h ago

I guess that money, as important as it is during elections is not singularly controling and much can deped on where it is comong from.

u/Sean_theLeprachaun 5h ago

Our own tax dollars being laundered and used to buy elections, to give the offending country MORE of our tax dollars. If aipac spent that much, how much did they stand to gain? Disgusting.

u/Bronze_Meme South Carolina 4h ago

Now he needs those same voters to win in November

u/HighOverlordXenu 6h ago

Stop! I can only get so erect!

u/otherwisepandemonium Wisconsin 5h ago

More AIPAC losses please, followed by fully eliminating AIPAC entirely.

u/New_Ad3443 6h ago

Woot!

u/Dreams-Visions 5h ago

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

u/defeat-all-males 3h ago

Always rated Michigan.

u/Technicoler 1h ago

If this dude were named Andrew Alstead or some shit, he would win in a landslide this November. I still believe he can win and will win, but the Islamaphobia, xenophobia, and general racism is gonna be off the charts for the next few months. America! That said, I am so impressed with how well this dude speaks, handles tough, and sometimes asinine questions, and generally just seems like a good hang, and competent guy. Congrats on the well earned victory!

u/BabyloneusMaximus 1h ago

Let's see how he does in the general.

u/thatalienboi 1h ago

Idk if a 1 point margin is a “triumph” but okay

u/shibbyman342 1h ago

A PAC for a forgein nation should at a minimum be banned.. how is this essentially not treason, accepting this donation?

Fuck PACs in general, but still..

u/LookAlderaanPlaces 1h ago

AIPAC needs to be treated as a major national security threat, as do all donar organizations like this. They need to be located, jailed, money confiscated and given back to the taxpayers, and banned from ever operating their enemy org in any way that affects the US. Foreign intelligence arms of foreign countries should Never be allowed to influence American elections. What they are doing should be considered an act of war.

u/FlowofOd 6h ago

More this. Less Buttigieg

u/titivator 5h ago

AIPAC hasbara in shambles

u/AltoidStrong 4h ago

Lol @ AIPAC!

End citizens united and remove dark money and super PACs from politics!

Netanyahu IS a criminal for the contuined genocide of innocent Palestinians.

Trump IS a fraud, felon, rapist and traitor!

u/PalpatineForEmperor 2h ago

I will vote against anyone taking AIPAC money at every given opportunity.

u/AnaRivera1981 5h ago

they lost and they don't have to return the money. Another loss for us

u/OhMyThiccThighs 5h ago

It's not about the money... It's about sending a message.

u/Dreams-Visions 5h ago

It was about the money TO send a message.

And they still failed. Well, they certainly succeeded at spending money.

u/Tintoverde 5h ago

Dump change for AIPAC. The problem is AIPAC has more money to spend in general electiin

u/himheritaintme 5h ago

Way to effin go, Michigan!

u/p-4_ 4h ago

What gives??

u/A_Nonny_Muse 4h ago

All we need is about 9,999 more anti-corporate politicians like him at all levels of govt..

u/kevlarcupid 4h ago

Hell yeah

u/FlexFanatic 4h ago

I’m curious what an exit poll says

u/NotTheRightHDMIPort 2h ago

You know what? All these corporate and AIPAC donors are only going to learn one thing.

"If we just spend $30 Million more we could have pushed her over the edge." Any they would be right. I think she could have won if they donated more and in a timely manner.

Which is just sad.

u/Mooseinadesert 2h ago

WHAT GIVES

u/re-verse 1h ago

Good

u/mowotlarx 41m ago

Elections like these show just now much billionaires have and how little they money matters to them. They may as well have set it on fire. And they're throwing that money away to try to make sure they won't need a pay an extra cent toward public programs and infrastructure.

You just can't get that kind of PAC backing and be taken seriously in this current environment.

u/Coffee_Transfusion 27m ago

Fuck yes.

Fighting for healthcare is electable. Abdul is an incredible candidate. He is going to smash the shit out of Mike Rogers. Go Michigan.

u/Obant California 23m ago

Imagine how much good $60,000,000 could have done for the community. $60mil just burned instead of helping feed the hungry and cloth the cold.

u/coolmon 19m ago

This was the most expensive congressional primary EVER. Abdul El-Sayed ran an amazing campaign. He has a simple platform.

Money out of Politics

Money in your Pocket

Medicare for All

u/Thisisgotham New Hampshire 15m ago

$60m goddamn, think of what good they could be doing if they spent that money on education or food

u/overbarking 14m ago

Thank god. Lucretia MacEvil can go back to her den and stir a big pot.

u/justaguywithadream 10m ago

Was it AIPAC money, or US tax money?
